Nigeria's military didn't go toe to toe with the apartheid armed military but Nigeria gave material and financial support to the freedom fighters(ANC militant) in South Africa.

South Africa got the atomic energy through Israel in 1970 after the fear of been attacked by African forces.

“ The African National Congress (ANC) was earlier in the struggle dominated by professors and other educated people, but Mandela later changed it and made people the centre of the struggle,’’ he said.

Mnguni explained that people saw Mandela as a symbol of struggle; he was an intelligent lawyer, who did not compromised in spite of the contradiction happening in his country at that time.

While speaking on the life and times of Mandela, Miss Lynette Johnson of House Mosadi said even after Mandela was jailed in 1964, he continued with the struggle in confinement.

A poet, Mr Andy Chukwunonye, read two poems out of 90 poems from his book title: `Letter to Mandela’ a collection of poems.

The high point of the occasion was a musical performance by David Aze, who sang `redemption song’ of Robert Marley

You don't even have the skills to tell a convincing lie.Dude if Mandela was arrested in I964 it means he spent 26 years in jail instead of 27 the rest of the world know it to be.Mandela was arrested in 1963 (the same year you claim he came to Nigeria) so I don't know how he was behind bars and "begging" money from Nigeria at the same time,it's humanly impossible.

Of course,Mnguni had to say that just to show courtesy to his host.In reality nobody acknowledges Nigeria like that.

Some times i feel like foriegn colonizer was ruling us. Our government only like to be praised. You can't even praise Haile Selassie. Haile Selassie formed Africa union but he had no statue made in there until our new PM came.kuamini Nikruma had a statue but not haileselassie. . . If our PM didn't show up, what do we know. The bolded is the main problem.The average African kid is more likely to pick a book about history of Roman Empire before he learns about the history of his own people and his continent,and we were mentally programmed that way from early grades in school.And remember,Africans didn't have a written language before before the arrival of Europeans (except for Egypt) so some of our history is written by the people who conquered us long time ago.They pick and choose what to write down about us leave out anything that doesn't favour their narrative about Africans.

Few things to know about Addis Ababa. . .

Addis Ababa was found by Emperor Menelik and he made the city the capital. Addis Ababa has seen many things every time the leaders of the country change. The city was modernized at the time of Empeor menelik and Haile Selassie. Emperor Haile Selassie made the city the capital of Africa too. When Italians occupied Ethiopia, the architecture in some areas of Addis Ababa became italic. 30,000 Addis Ababa people has also been killed in just 2 days when they tried to kill the leader of the Itallian colonizers. After the down fall of Haile Selassie, the city lost its power. War exceeded in the country and development was slow.


Addis Ababa is still the capital of Ethiopia but there are many other Ethiopian cities which looks beautiful than Addis. This was made on purpose (political issue)

First time hearing of Emperor Menelik but I have heard Haile Selassie's name come up in many songs (mainly rap songs). Sounds like Ethiopian history is very interesting,I'm gonna try to read up on it.Is Addis Ababa the oldest city in Ethiopia?
