Yeah it's tax-free, Jace. Let's hope they won't get greedy & start taxing that too. IDK but now all the jackpots seem small, so I won't be playing for a very long time. Last year after that guy won 125M, I was so bitter, I stopped playing until this last jackpot. It'll be hard for me to get excited over anything less than 100M again

Regarding the U.S. winner, according to the lottery spokesperson, this is a 1st for them & they're getting worried as the expiration date is getting closer. Another thing is, the longer it takes for the winner to come forward, the more charges/taxes accumulate. Hence it's puzzling. The U.S. charges quite heavily on lottery winnings. The winner will be walking away with only $800+ M of the money if they choose to take a once-off payment. Seems like daylight robbery if you ask me. Thank God ours is not taxed.

How much do you play with usually? I think I'll start betting with less money, hopefully my poverty will shine through

@bolded, lost conscious & died, true, because they won back in November last year! Time is running out. They have until April to claim their winnings or it goes to charity. I think they probably threw away the ticket because nobody waits this long. This would be a 1st if they're out there still contemplating what to do next.

Now back to our lottery. I just checked the location of the winning ticket & you're right, it's the WC. What I don't understand is why it's always the people who play for just R20 that always win big jackpots. I spent R45 yesterday & I didn't even win the usual R2.50 I'm so heartbroken. I had plans!
