femisplash: Obi has admitted that he failed as Governor. A man that didn't succeed as Governor will never be President of Nigeria. That's not what he implied. He is simply saying that he did what he could, with the resources he had, despite some "cabals" or disgruntled persons not believing in his capacity. Now that someone that has all the qualifications is there, he should be able to do better. So Prof. Soludo should focus on his tenure as Governor and take Anambra to greater heights (if he is destined to). Trust me, there is nothing one can do to satisfy all persons at the same time. You can only do your part in good conscience. That good conscience is what is lacking in many Nigerian politicians PO has some of it. Please let us enjoy it small. |

Okortor: I'm Obidient but have been wondering why PO had such a tiny voice during his outburst with Dino, is that how his voice is? I need to clarify something or because Dino got him really upset? Yes ooo. Thats because great leaders don't need aggressiveness to ensure rule of law. They just need the voters to grant them legitimacy. Then watch governance fall into place. The people are their voice, their own is just to get things done. |

Excelloque: *Michael Ola Femi puts Tinubu rightly fitted into his ranking stacks*
Between 1999 to 2007, the star governors then were Donald Duke of Cross River, Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu, even though Ibori would be later jailed, he had more projects to himself than the so called Jagaban.
Ibori practically changed the face of his own town like what Oshiomhole and Ambode did to Iyahmo and Epe respectively. Then, Yaradua of Katsina and Markafi of Kaduna, although he struggled because of sharia and the Kaduna crisis which left a major dent on his administration.
Lagos was never celebrated in governance until Fashola became governor in 2007. I remember clearly the fight Tinubu had with Obasanjo about local government creation, that was the major reason Lagos was on the news then, apart for obvious reasons as Nigeria’s economic capital, there was nothing spectacular in Lagos governance then apart from the filths and dirts that littered the former pride of the nation.
There was nothing exciting about Tinubu’s leadership except his meticulous politics. He was a last man standing of the AD governors of the Southwest region then.
We still remember how Tinubu was changing his deputies like sidechicks. There was one Bucknor then and another Femi Pedro, they all fell out with Tinubu.
We remember clearly how Tinubu almost never wanted Fashola to complete his term but Fashola being a system man, managed to, unlike Ambode who, although being very good as a leader didn’t know how to manage power.
Tinubu, typical of most governors in his sets; 1999-2007, was mediocre like Lucky Igbinedion, Alams, Dariye etc. It is sad how people want to re-write history before our eyes.
How would someone attribute the Lagos success story to Tinubu, it is very painful to read that sometimes. Lagos was already Lagos before Tinubu was born. You can go and verify this.
You guys should show a mega project attributed to Tinubu. One he started and completed like the Tinapa of Calabar or the 10 lanes road constructed by Peter Obi’s government 10 years ago that is still standing or the Akpabio’s miracle of Akwa-Ibom or the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge by Fashola or Wike’s flyovers. You can’t point at any, you can only say he built men. How? As per their father? or by using undemocratic means to install stooges, who by their conscience chose to be men as expected.
It is very sad that I can’t respond to comments here because Facebook has restricted my account but truth be said, as a politician, Tinubu is astute but as a leader, he shouldn’t come near to power. He is just not what we want. We cannot finish a Buhari and start with a Tinubu.
Copied !!! That gentleman stated the fact which many of the man's supporters would wish were not obvious. Just like he said, Fashola, Ambode did well. The current one too is doing his best. But we now have one man who is trying to use all of them CV to look for job in Aso. He is trying to carry all Nigerians handicap. But his ticket has cut. I wish him well in his forthcoming retirement. |

Tamm: Hello @Mstravelindiva,
Your travel diary brings back memories of my 4-month stay in Malta as an exchange student in late winter/spring of 2021.
Unfortunately, your assertion that it is a friendly country to migrants and refugees is wrong and I just thought to point that out. During my stay, I also volunteered with two organisations working with refugees and the experience wasn't pleasant. In fact, I don't like to relive my experience, particularly of my visit to the detention center, as well as to Hal Far open center. Besides, a week stay in any country as a tourist cannot help anyone reach such a conclusion. These are realities that tourists don't know. My experience on a 10-day visit to Paris was definitely different from my 3-month experience working with refugees in Calais and Dunkerque in Northern France.
I hope you get what I mean. Nonetheless, Malta is a beautiful country to visit! Nice to know that you enjoyed your trip. Abeg gist us the bad side of Malta, make we balance everything. Sorry for trying to make you remember those experiences. This just for education purposes. |
Politics › Re: Dear North; Why We should Vote Tinubu 2023 by jackie111(m): 10:22pm On Oct 27, 2022 |
candidtalk: Why should I educate you when even contemporary events cannot do that? There is a thread here with Soludo complaining erosion is engulfing Anambra.
What did Obi do about that problem while governor?
Contrast with Tinubu who delivered Eko Atlantic as a solution to the problem of the ocean threatening to engulf Victoria Island and beyond.
Awkuzu SARS, led by James.Nwafor, a pal and official ally of Obi, killed gleefully and with impunity. Tinubi arrested crime.in Lagos forming RRS and initiating other solutions that drastically reduced crime and insecurity.
These are real and proven realities we were all witnesses to. Why should I then indulge you idiocy when you ask silly and mischievous questions asking me to "market" my candidate?
Were you on Mars when Tinubu was succeeding massively, to become one of the most understudied leaders in Africa, while Obi was failing spectacularly? "Eko Atlantic city" Was he the one who actualized the project? When Fashola wants to contest he will also claim the said project. Ambode will say he continued the project and sanwo olu will say it was his own project because he finished it. Seriously!!! Now let's be Frank, I was just reading here on nairaland, 3 days ago, that the eko Atlantic whatever belongs to two chougry brothers and they are Lebanese. Lagos has always been the economic capital of Nigeria. Its just like carrying expo to politics exam. If Tinubu was governor of anambra and PO was governor of lagos. He wouldn't perform up to Obi and Obi will even do better than him in Lagos. I'm sure there has been flood in that same lagos every year. Because of flood in Anambra now, you now want to rubbish all of PO works. No, no be like that. The question you should be asking now is how are the aspirants intending to deal with recurring flood in various parts of Nigeria. Mind you, direct it to them. I'm sure you won't say Tinubu will build another Atlantic city in anambra. Sars: on the issue of sars, those guys are not under the authority of the governor. Even though the governor is the cso of the state. They answer to the IGP. I guess it's one of the reasons states are clamouring for stare police. Why will a governor direct the police to kill his own citizens. Its people that act above the law that behave like that. Take a look at the top aspirants, who do you think behaves in that manner? I doubt if someone who follows rule of law, upholds justice and is accountable to the people who elected him will act in such despicable manner. That akwuzu case is contestable, you can do deeper investigation into it. I'm yet to see where Obi has failed spectacularly. When he wins the election we still need your support to make Nigeria great. You people should not come with "PULL HIM DOWN" syndrome. |

Mstravelindiva: Hello Nairalanders, it’s your girl Mstravelindiva (again)
Just a few pics from my recent trip to Malta! Malta is a beautiful (yet small) country in the middle of the Mediterranean (south of Sicily, north east of Tunisia), and I can see why Game of Thrones was filmed here! It’s simply beautiful!
It was my first time visiting so I didn’t know what to expect neither did I have any high expectations (which usually end up being the best vacations). Needless to say, Malta did not disappoint and I was blown away with the beauty of Malta, especially Gozo. Malta is an extremely friendly country and what I love most is how welcoming they are to foreigners (not just tourist but refugees and immigrants).
[color=#990000][/red]Exactly what we want for our dear Nigeria. No be all these kidnapping that is making people stay away from us. Here are the deets of my week stay there, I hope you enjoy the picture journey:
Split up my stay up between Westin Dragonara and the Hilton Malta. Both were considered 5* and will definitely not disappoint you. They are located in St. Julian’s. St Julian’s is where all the night life is and the best restaurants (imo) were in Valletta.
This was an incredible trip and now one of my top destinations!
Flights to Malta within Europe are incredibly cheap (saw as low as 30 Euros), and accommodations to fit all budgets are available.
Cities Visited: Sliema The Three Cities (Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua) Valletta Mdina (Silent City) Gozo Island (booked a private chartered tour through Yippee) Marsaxlokk (fishing village) Blue Lagoon (crystal lagoon and the blue grotto)
UNESCO Sites Visited: Hypogeum Ghar Dalam Caves National Archaeology Museum
Wineries: Wine tasting at Marsovin (Paola) and Ta Mena (Gozo)
Safe travels my friends and be well! |

Some Commissioners are more relevant than some Deputies in Most States.
So they gain the sympathy of some of the Stalwarts.
Remain Loyal and be chopping dia money.
And when election time reaches.
They'll show you shege. Not totally true ooo. Deputies do Most of the official duties. Governors do most of the ceremonial stuff and media. They just like their face showing in the camera. Dont get me wrong, a proactive Governor would still get things done. I'm just judging with when I was in kwara |
