Hello Jordan55,

Permit me to address the part where you asked if he should withdraw his ongoing PR application.

If he is still in the pool and he hasn’t gotten ITA yet, he can still add his recent employment as an investment officer under his work history. Him getting a new job is not a disadvantage.

Dual intent is also very much allowed. He can have the two applications opened and running simultaneously.

The officer would view the applications independently and as long as the conditions for the study permit are met, he will be approved.

I had a PR application running when I applied for study permit in April 2021 and I got my application approved.

I hope this clarifies.

Hello Luckymama,

I would be attending UBC (Vancouver campus). Although I have gotten a temporary accommodation (Airbnb), I wouldn’t mind a shared accommodation starting January 2022.

I have also tried sending you a message as well.

quote author=Luckymama post=107895894]Hi all
Is there by any chance anyone in UBCO (Kelowna) here or resuming in January? Looking for shared accomodation and have seen a couple of nice buildings close to campus. Would like to share with one two flatmates - females only please.
Hello Tofo,

There is a direct flight from Amsterdam to Vancouver using KLM. I think you should be able to get a train to Nainamo. You can also check online as well.

The route via KLM is Lagos-Amsterdam-Vancouver.

I hope this helps.

tofo:
Hello All. Please my sister is set to resume at Vancouver Island University by January 4th for her MBA. We are looking at booking a flight for her for December 27th. Ethiopian Airlines seemed to be the cheapest but with the current crisis in the country, is it still a good choice? Also, what other cheal airline is advisable to book for her. She will be flying into Nanaimo, British Columbia. Thank you

Please reconfirm before buying one way ticket

I heard it applies to only those on scholarship

Please are you very sure about this...that a student can get PTA with one way ticket?

For those that want to buy one way ticket, I just learnt that getting PTA only applies to those going to school on Government Funded Scholarship.

Please clarify from your banker as well.

I applied for PR last year March but I am yet to get PPR. The delay is largely due to COVID. But I ordered my notes in December 2020 to know the status and that was where I saw that my file was approved.

My SP application was submitted this year, April 2nd 2021.

Congratulations, so you applied for PR and SP ?

It’s PPR

I stand to be corrected, but I think the 3 day mandatory hotel bookings are no longer required if you arrive on or after 9th of August 2021 fully vaccinated or not. However if you are arriving before the 9th of August 2021, you would need the 3 days compulsory hotel booking.

For those who are not fully vaccinated, you are required to show your quarantine plans for for 14 days when you arrive on or after 9th of August, 2021.

Now for those who are fully vaccinated, you are also to show your quarantine plans for 14 days incase the officer determines you are not eligible to be a full-vaccinated traveller when you arrive on or after 9th of August 2021.

In summary, the 3 day hotel booking is compulsory if you are arriving before the 9th of August 2021. However if you are arriving on or after 9th August 2021, have your 14 days quarantine plans ready fully vaccinated or not.

EmeeNaka:
Who said Non- Vaccinated travellers would not need hotel stop over? It's a lie. Even if you are fully Vaccinated, you must book for the hotels and show the evidence at your point of entry, otherwise you will pay about $CAD 5000. The decision to or not be eligible for exemption is the prerogatives of the officers at the Point of Entry, it's not automatic.

For those of you with blank eligibility/ pre-assessment notes you can order CBSA notes next time instead of IRCC notes. They don't hide the info in CBSA notes.

My friend did and he got a positive evaluation.

All he needed to do was to pay his outstanding fees.

Subalinga:
you cannot get WES evaluation for the papers you are exempted for (F1 TO F9).. TO get an evaluation, you have to write some papers and get a certificate.

A VERY BIG YES based on my friend’s experience.

My friend did and his result was positively evaluated

He studied accounting at the University of Hull in the UK and got ACCA exemption for f1 to f9.

Good morning,

1) I typed and printed it on an A4 paper

2) He attested with a sentence e.g I ......... (his or her name) attest to the........

Like I earlier mentioned, this what what I did in my own case. I also did not feel it was appropriate to use the company’s letterhead since the reference letter was not officially give to me by my HR.

55emem55:
Jadel03, when you say you wrote the reference letter on an A4 paper, did you mean you typed it and printed it, or you wrote it with a pen?

Secondly, how did your colleague attest on the letter? Like she just wrote a sentence or how?

I'm also in this reference letter ish and I'm just tired for Nigerian employers.

Good Evening,

This was what I did in my own case and my file was approved ( I got to know this from last last GCMS notes)even though I am yet to receive PPR.( no thanks to COVID and my VO -Ottawa.

My employer does not issue reference letter for immigration purpose.

1) I wrote the reference letter myself on a plain white sheet (A4) and signed while I also got my colleague to attest on it.
2) I notarized the letter.I think I spent #2k
3) Submitted the following:

i) Employment Letter
ii) Confirmation Letter
iii) Promotion letter
iv) Six months payslip
v) Work Id for myself and my colleague that attested for me.
vi) I wrote an LOE telling them that my organization does not issue reference letter but that I have attached the following( listed above) to prove that I work in the organization.

I also ensured my Linkedin profile was up to date.

Kindly note that this was my own personal experience.

quote author=savvytec1 post=98008014]Good day Canadian family,
Kindly help to confirm if i have done the right thing concerning inability to get reference letter. I intend to submit the following
1. Letter of explanation stating that my company do not issue reference letter, but rather introduction letter to embassy.
2.Notarized Letter of Reference from Supervisor
3. Employee Company ID Card –Applicant
4. Employee Company ID Card –Supervisor
5. Introduction Letter from Company HR
6. Letter of Employment
7. Technical Reassignment Letter
8. Performance Appraisal Letter
9. Sterling Bank Statements of Account (Salary account)

I wanted to submit pay slip. However, the job title has been management trainee for the past three years even though i have been reassigned as an engineer. Also my file is already 3.4Mb

Kindly assist me in confirming the above
Well, my friend had exemptions(F1 to F9) because he studied accounting although from a UK university.

He got a positive evaluation from WES.

I hope this helps.

I have the same issue. I am currently an ACCA student who got exceptions too. I have done only 2 papers at skills level. I am thinking of going back to write F1-F3 but I cant seem to get across to ACCA Nigeria to ask them. Please anyone who has an answer should help. Thank you.

Thank you for your response

Let me try to break it down:

1) Applied for PR and application is approved as per my last GCMS notes but I have not officially received PPR via mail due to COVID delay.

2) while my PR application was ongoing, I also applied for admission for further studies (Masters)

So here is my question: Assuming I get my passport request/COPR/ passport stamped knowing fully well that my PR status will not be active till I land, do I still need to apply for student visa?

Chocs:
Jadel03

PR? COPR? And admission letter? I’m confused. Did you apply for a study permit? permanent residence? Or both?

If your question is related to permanent residence application and COPR, please check the express entry thread for better information.

Best wishes
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Jadel03: 1:52pm On Jan 02, 2021
Good Afternoon All,

My PR application was recently approved (got this info from my last GCMS notes), however I am yet to get an email to submit my passport for stamping.

If I get the request and my COPR is issued this month or next, do I still need to apply for a study permit or can I travel and show them at the POE my admission letter?

The reason for my question is because of travel restrictions still in place for COPR’s issued after March 18.

Thank you
