for how long, since approximately 2000 years ago?

Let's look at it this way, there was a time when the church used to teach people that the earth is flat, a lot of people believed that error and that is brainwashing but that didn't take long before the truth came out.

You cannot brainwash mankind for a long period as 2000 years it's not possible. Especially now that people are embarking on research and new ideas and knowledge are being discovered.
You are right. That's why atheism is on the rise. The brainwashing is getting less effective

Well they said Bleep it we arent going to pay and went to court. That's the entire point of this post by the op.

As for outrageous who sets the cost the owner or the client. I remember one day I was complaining about how much my mechanic charges me and one man said if I cannot pay him I should do it myself. That forever changed my view on trade.

In your case If 120k is too much tou can say Bleep it I am going to another hospital. I don't think they can hold you.

In developed countries where things work how many people do you think can pay out of pocket for healthcare. A cs will cost you upwards of 3 million naira irrespective of outcome. In his Nigeria I know places where cs is 1 million and people are paying.

Its only outrageous when you cant afford it.
In the US, health insurance handles bills. U can't pay outta your pocket as an individual. My aunt in the US had a hole in the tooth, with the tooth almost eroded. They said tooth extraction and a root canal job would cost #4m, and it wasn't covered in her health insurance. She had to endure the pain til she came to the #Shithole, where I took her to my dentist friend. Dude collected 10k from her. Very comedic.
So for folks complaining about cost, please do a price comparison with other countries. Even Rwanda, Sudan. Please don't compare with South Africa or Kenya. U go die. Then revert to us

most patients are complaining about hospital bills because billing system is not transparent. even barbers, bricklayer and other artisans have billing system that members of public can have access to. Hospitals should let patients understand bills for every service and product in hospital. For example billing for cs can include -bed space 2k per day, nursing charge 2k per day, initial consultation-5k, ward round 1k per day, operation 30k, theatre pack 20k, anaesthesia 20k, laboratory services based on tests, pharmacy based on drugs etc. if all hospitals adhere to principle of transparent billing , most of the problems arising hospital bills will be solved
I don't know what you are talking about. All the hospitals have billing systems. If you are given a bill, just politely request for the breakdown, they would give it to you. No qualms

Hotels charge exorbitant bills, no one blinks. Banks charge you frivolously, nobody coughs. But when a hospital charge you for something as costly as your life, you start foaming from the mouth. Nobody dragged you to that hospital. There are hospitals you can do CS for 50k.Any thing wey u see there, you take. Same as there are hotels that charge 3k per night. You don't need to go to Presidential or Intercontinental where bills may be 100k. It's called choice. Those hospitals have reasons why that bill is that high. Same as the hotels. It's a capitalist economy. So bros, like my other colleague said, you are irredeemably ignorant

Calm down sir... Liverpool has done well without doubt, but thank the stars for the absence of the cutting edge in Man City, the growing pains of Man United, the unabated decline of Arsenal, transfer ban on Chelsea coupled with a novice manager (like United), Everton's nightmare of a season, and Spur's determination to ruin Pochettino...

You see, it wasn't simply down to your being exceptional... grin

Before the ball hit Bernado's hand, Trent was running towards him. After the ricochet on Bernado, Trent was forced to change direction, that was why his hand was in that position.
And the ref allowed play to continue after the initial Bernado handball (which was a foul) cos Liverpool had advantage.
When you argue that VAR favors Liverpool, it doesn't make sense cos there are instances like the Villa game where it doesn't favor Liverpool
Christianity EtcRe: Does Religion Lower iq?. by jaephoenix(m): 12:25am On Nov 29, 2019
XxSabrinaxX:
I'd say some truly believe. In her book "Why We Lie" Dorothy Rowe suggests irrational beliefs have as much to do with emotional issues as intelligence levels.

Those who have been indoctrinated as children into religious faiths tend to identify with that faith at very personal levels and any challenges to that faith will be taken as a personal attack at a subconcious level. In these cases intelligence can be trumped by deep seated inability of a person to seperate their ideas from themselves. You are not your ideas.

This might explain why academics suddenly convert to religious faiths if long suppressed and unaddressed indoctrination pushes them to seek some form of emotional comfort in overt expression, despite obvious contradictions to their professional lives.
One example that has always intrigued me was the scientist who claimed to have refound his god in the shape of his baby daughter's ear. I studied my niece's ear and while marvelling at the complexity only found Nature.

It's also important to remember that whilst intelligence can help you make critical and analytical decisions and reduce the intuition and emotion behind choices, there are no guarantees, and if course many other factors at play.

Human intelligence is first and foremost fallible, and of course even at genius level it's likely to be anachronistic. It's easy to demean ideas now that were considered profound during periods where education was non- existent for almost everyone beyond practical applications needed for day to day survival.

Newton was a genius whose scientific theories on gravity advanced human knowledge exponentially. Yet he also was an alchemist, an astrologer, and of course a christian.

His science mark's him as a genius, the superstitions were of the period and merely show he was fallible like everyone else. The science is revered because it can be supported by objective facts.

How many people live and die even today not knowing who Newton was, or having even a basic grasp of his scientific work?

I have no more than a middling intellect, and a mediocre formal education, and I try never to forget that.
Newton doesn't believe in Jesus Christ, and was known as a heretic. Y'all should do your research. Why should I be doing your work for you

sholay2011:
I can only speak from the perspective of Christianity.

Christianity does not lower IQ (on the contrary God gives you more wisdom) but expects you to submit your will to God. The average human being gets upset when his or her will is restricted or hampered. This is why we need the grace of God to do this.

Now, there are people who go to ridiculous extent to do some strange things such as worshipping their Pastor (instead of God), eating grass as commanded by their Pastor etc...when you closely examine their intents, they are not even that interested in God, they just want what God can give- how their needs can be met- and so, they will rather take selfish and lazy routes rather than do both the actual spiritual and physical work. It will appear they have low IQ but they are selfish, greedy and ignorant people. Okay, some may actually have low IQ in this sense...lol.

BUT

If you as an unbeliever is trying to use human comprehension to understand the things of the Spirit, then you are on your own because this is an entirely different case! This is because God uses the foolish things of this world to confound "the wise".
It is fallacy to associate believing in God with low IQ on the average when Albert Einstein even believed in God. And the wisest person recorded is in the word of God.

And who IQ help anyway?? The race of life is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor the success to those with high IQs.
Dude Einstein wasn't a theist. He doesn't believe in your version of God. Hes a pantheist

TheGoodJoe:
Neil Swarbrick, the man whose job it is to oversee the implementation of VAR in the Premier League claimed it was the correct decision.

Speaking on BBC Five Live, he said: “That’s the subjective part – was it in an unnatural place? When you look at it, at no point does Trent Alexander-Arnold’s arm move towards the ball.

“His body posture … his arm is there. His arm has got to be somewhere. His arm is slightly away from his body but that is a neutral, natural position for his stance at that moment in time.

“The ball came from a short distance at pace, and just happened to hit that arm. He didn’t move the arm towards the ball, it just hit the arm.

“Michael Oliver has seen that clearly. That’s what he explained. He said ‘I know it’s hit the arm, but there is no arm movement, it’s come at short distance, I’m comfortable that that’s not deliberate handball’.

“It has to be deliberate in the penalty area to give a penalty. It’s different to scoring a goal, where it can be accidental. To give a penalty it’s got to be deliberate.

“Michael deemed it not to be deliberate. The VAR has looked at that, listened to what Michael said, and it absolutely married up.”

Except that is simply not true.

Not only that, Swarbrick, Oliver and the VAR all failed to see it, which questions either their eyesight or their integrity – take your pick.

Swarbrick also failed to mention the actual letter of the law.

He said it was about whether the arm was “in an unnatural place”.

The law actually states: “It is usually an offence if a player: touches the ball with their hand/arm when: the hand/arm has made their body unnaturally bigger” or when the arm is raised above the head.

From being by his side, Alexander-Arnold’s arm indisputably rises and moves away from his body, therefore making his body “unnaturally bigger”.

VAR has been an unmitigated disaster. And with officials refusing to admit huge errors, and do something about them, it will continue to be so.

By the time the ball reaches Alexander-Arnold and strikes him, his arm has risen to a 45-degree angle
