He is not expressing hatred for Black People, Asian People, Hispanics, etc.

He is saying that Africans have become mind puppets of the West and have forgotten their origin/culture.

None Western is better than an African! None!.

For me, that is racist, its saying that all black people are better than all white people. That is racist.

Next year, I`ll be living in Africa. With him, and our child. I can`t wait. Only 11months more. If I am lucky, I will see him in about 5months.

With education, you can choose if you wish to work at the farm, or to try your best to find a job were you use your education. Wihtout the education, you dont have a chance to even try. I know wich one I would prefer, and I see on some of my african friends who cant read and write how much more difficult it makes their everyday life. Both in Africa, and here.

Fulaman198: Education is good and all, but as long as it is used to accomplish the right things in ones life. One can not disrespect traditional culture just because they so choose to be a Farmer over a doctor. Malians are not starving because 80% of their population are Farmers (20% are nomadic Fulani or Touaregs or other nomadic groups). Therefore being a farmer or agriculturist makes one self-sufficient. They grow rice, cereals, fruits and vegetables.

Guess I have to repeat myself: To be able to choose.

Some people say that Western education grants one a job, in reality it does not, it only increases your chances of landing a job.

Of course it does not, but it sure gives you a better chance than if you did not have that education. And thats the whole point..to be able to choose. It does not matter is its western education, or like my brother in law; agriculture-education; as long as its something YOU choose.

Look at some of the leaders, how they work. Look how many percentage of aid-help in money that actually goes to HELP, and not a corrupted leadership.

ifyalways: The reason our fathers had many children was to help out with farm work or whatever else that would bring in money.children are sent out to work in peoples farmlands to earn wages(more income for the family), girls marry wealthy men (status upgrade for the family, steady flow of material goodies from the groom). And ofcourse, high rate of infant mortality was a factor too, albeit secondary.

Its absurd to say our mothers didn't know or use contraceptives till the white men came! With all the leaves, herbs at their disposal? Don't kid me, please.

And as the economy for a country and the people get better, you have the option to choose if you want to have many kids or not. You can choose to work, or stay home with ten kids. You can choose to do hard laour, or to work 9-5 and get your money. You can choose to marry who ever you wish, not to marry because of money.

To be poor gives you less choices. If you have money enough to survive, you dont need to make choices based on "will my family have enough money if I marry this man".

And if they know about birth-control, maybe they should spread it to f.ex Somalia, where women who barely have food for them self, pop out babies..

the human mortlaity here is very high. kids die as soon as they reach the age of 1, due to hunger, disease, etc. there is no money here. so poor people give birth to many kids so atleast a few fittest ones can make i to and older age. also more kids means more income. our children start working at the age of 8-9 in the poor areas. even i started working part-time at an early age along with schoolwork.
also we have no medical/clinical facilities, so no chance of obtaining contraceptives or abortions.

You dont think I know why they have all these kids? Dont talk to me like I am stupid. It is not more than just about 60 years since it was the same in my country.
Birth-control came around the late 70`s here.
Women did not get out of the kitchen and had the freedom to CHOOSE until just about 40 years ago.
People saw more value in starting to work at around 12years of age, some going ut to the seas with the ships, instead of school. More money for the family.

Modernisation is not ALWAYS a good thing, but it sure as he-l-l is not always a bad thing either.

Look at hip hop-routines, and compare it with some of the traditional dancing of Africa.. Much influence.

In some ways I agree with you, and see your point, in others I do not.
The fact that the world is evolving is also a factor in this. People travel all over the world, influencing each other. Take Poland; one of the most racist places against black people, still they have some of the biggest dancehall-scenes in Europe. Everyone influence everyone.

With asylum/people travelling for work, comes influence on the culture they decide to settle down in, and they bring it back home with them as well.
Religion influence the culture, the culture influence the religion.

I do believe that it is a good thing that the world is coming more together, spreading good ways amongst each other. And what is good for you, might be bad for someone else.
There are things I love about my own culture, and things I really dislike. There are things I love about the african culture, and there are things I dont like.

Do yours to keep what you believe is good, and have faith in others to do the same.
