RomanceRe: Does Love At First Sight Exist? by JallowBah(f): 9:35am On Aug 19, 2012
Lust at first sight is there.. And interest to find out more.

Me and my husband was looking at each other for almost two months without even talking to each other. Just looking, smiling, paying attention.
The first time he came to talk to me, he was with a friend. I was sitting down and reading, and felt someone look at me, so I looked up.
The first thing that hit my head when I looked at him was "There HE is." It felt absolutely right; there he was, my man. Before we even talked.

But it has to be mutual..

The bracelets they put on also have some significance to them. Unmarried girls put much, much colourful bracelets, but when they are married, they dont wear too much anymore.
I actually took that one to me in Gambia, as the fulanis see it kinda the same. And I was married, walking around with muuuuch colours..wink
FamilyRe: How Do You Deal With Intellectual Incompatibility In Marriage! by JallowBah(f): 9:21am On Aug 19, 2012
My husband is a real bush-fulani, he lived with the cattle in the bush his first 18 years, before moving to a village, still in the bush. He only went to school for a few years when he was about 7, and has worked since he was about 8. He moved to EU at 25,, no school then either, just work.
I went to school for 12 years, and worked since I was about 14. Fulltime from I was about 17 years of age, grew up in EU, in the northern part of Norway.

I do feel that us growing up SO differently makes it extra interesting for us. We always have discussion about things, but not fotball..hehe....he loves, I really dont have interest in it.
We are smart in different ways. He knows things I dont know, I know things he dont know. He knows how to hunt with a spear, and how to survive in the bush for weeks on weeks, and I know scientific things, as to why there is thunder and lightningwink I have learned so much from him, and he has learned from me. I love that.

He dont have the same school-IQ as me, but he sure as h-ell is a damn smart man. I have never met a man I respect as much as him, and the fact that we have experienced so different lives, is just a plus in our book. Not something everyone would agree on, though..

Efemena_xy: Ah! You've got a girl then smiley

In that case, if I were you, she'd never leave my side!

But on a more serious note, you could just ask them outright too you know. Not in an antagonistic manner, but more like a friendly discussion with them, to get their views and opinions on those issues. That way, you'll know exactly where you stand.

@poster, I pray such evil never comes my way, else I go kill person o! My beautiful princess?? NEVER!! angry
The problem there is that only two of his siblings talk good english..one sister, one brother. The brother dont have the answers, but I wanted to talk to his sister the last time I was there. Not something you do over the phone..will try the next time, as I will live there for one full yearsmiley

On-topic: Tribal-marks should be chosen by the person who will wear it. Not others.

Mr Hornipipe :
Unlike big fat pants g stings do not have lines running like river Niger and benue on a gals buttocks...that sight is disgustingly disgusting and annoyingly annoying
If you wear pants, wear womens briefs under the clothes. The ones that have lines UNDER the bum, and to the sides. Like this:

https://kappahl.viskan.com/media/0222423103292_F_02.png

Works under some tights as well. But if the tights are very showing, then g`s are the best ones. Briefs are more healthy, though..
FashionRe: Ladies Why? by JallowBah(f): 7:31pm On Aug 18, 2012
Lol

A skirt, no matter long or short, will almost always slide up if you have some a-s-s. Thats why.
Same with jeans; they slide down.
And tops; they slide up.

Thats why.

(...and thats one of the reasons I like dresses more..just to damn cold in this country. )

Efemena_xy: But does anyone in your husband's immediate family still practice either of those, though? I mean tribal marks & female circumcision?

If so, then I would caution against leaving your kid(s) alone with them...
They SAY they dont do it now..according to my husband, they did it 20 years back, but he is not sure how they do now either. So yes, I am careful with leaving her alone with them. Especially later on.

MsDarkSkin: I once heard a sympathizer of those who support the act say that if more western women recieved such treatment it will lower their promiscuous tendancies....as they wont be able to enjoy sex like their male counterparts.

Smh....in otherwords sex is meant for men only. Its ok to be a wh0re as long as you carry two bag loads of sp3rm and testosterone lol.

What makes this even worse is some of the women support this. I read of an event in a rural town in Sierra Leone where the women would beat and threaten severe punishment on,repatriates or home grown woman wh advocate to end FGM in that part of SL.

Crazy and barbaric. Maybe I am westernized but I can't get down with this sickness.
Thats the whole thing; In the culture, its done so the WOMAN dont enjoy sex as much as she COULD have. Its insane. Guess its lucky they dont think about the g*spot..

The same people getting sympathetic for FGM on little girls are the same Ignorant people who co-signed the Torturous Political Prisons Of Homosexxxuals

I do not know why someone would utter it does not happen much in Nigeria

http://www.unicef.org/nigeria/FGM_.pdf

Barbaric Backwards Behavior can't be condemned one minute, then outwardly praised the Next.
The world is changing, luckily, and you can see more and more tribes all over Africa turning against the tradition, at least in public. I have no idea how many years it will take to almost get it all gone, but I highly doubt I will live to see it.

FamilyRe: Would You Rather Cry In A Limo, Than Laugh On A Bicycle? by JallowBah(f): 8:59am On Aug 18, 2012
For some women, its probably because they themself either grew up with much money and want to continue that life-style, for others, they grew up poor, and want something better.
The society now-a-days tells ut to always get the newest, the best, something better, something more expensive..the society tells you you are nothing without money for all the materialistic things you could have wished for.

Its wrong, very wrong. Love is not about that. Love is love..money makes it easier, but no, money cant buy you love.
And, limo or bicycle? I am laughing at a bicycle at the momentsmiley Things might change in the future, I sure hope so. But money was not what got me with me husband, now..

I do trust the african countries to have changed some of this in almost 10 years.

That one is the worst..they have a small, small hole to bleed through as well, and for the first night they need to be cut, and for giving birth as well..
It makes my stomach pain to think about the fact that many women have to go through all these things. Its insane.

Culture is NOT always a good thing.

FashionRe: Who Do Married Women Dress To Impress? by JallowBah(f): 8:04pm On Aug 17, 2012
Mr CGPA: Is good for a married women to dress well. That some body is married does not mean she shouldn't dress well but what I question is that, some of them are not modest atall. Imagine a married women puting on skin tight trouser that shows the contour of her pant. I feel ashamed of some indecent married women.
So,, if I get you strait here..I should not, because I am married, wear tight clothes that shows mmy figure??
FashionRe: Who Do Married Women Dress To Impress? by JallowBah(f): 8:02pm On Aug 17, 2012
Emylexray: I think a similar topic to this topic has been debated sometime ago. maclatunji opened the thread.
@poster. There should be a sense of decency in the way married women dress, some aged married women do dress with their flabby bosoms dangling like a yo-yo to show people they are still juicy and elegant. This shouldn't be, i believe husbands too should have a say in what their wives wear! They should be their mirror.
My married elder sister is an example, each time she is set for work, she ask her husband..."honey, how do i look?" and its left for the husband to tell her if he approves it or not. If the husband is okay with the dressing, then there is no cause for worry.
I used to do the same..wink Now, when my husband is in Africa and I am still in EU, I find myself wondering in the morning what I am gonna wear. I am used to asking him every morning what he thinnks I should put on, or if I look good, what scarf to take, wich shoes etc..

kikuyu1: I have personal experience of 'seeing,' (cough!/cough!)circumcised women. They're not frigid-HELL NO! One of my best all time lays was a cut meru, who are our kinfolk. Quite a number of Ethios and Eris are also cut;mind you this is only a clitoridectomy not the dreaded 'everything-must-be-snipped-and-stitched' Somali mutilation.
Even this type is not necessarily frigid but emotionally they're very difficult to reach due to the residual trauma;which interferes with the actual 'dinyaring'as we call it in Kenya.
I have met muslim med who say they are not 100% aure if the women was cut or not, die to the fact that some only cut the part of the inner lips that hang outside for example, and nothing else. Some women are born like that natural as well, so for them to see the difference..

The worst one is of course the one where they only leave a small whole. And I do believe that that one is not the one they use the most..
