Co-founder of the zoo, Liza Gadsby disclosed this in a telephone interview with Vanguard. “The chimpanzee was formerly at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Wildlife Park but during our (Liza and her husband) recent visit to the former president at Abeokuta, we convinced him that she will be better off at our facility, which he agreed to, because he has visited the Drill Ranch Afi Mountain, and impressed with what we have done,” she said. The guy even named his dog Buhari before Joe Chinakwe who has now been arrested by the Police.
|
Remember Uzu Awka, the guy that caused commotion at an event Buhari attended in London. He named his dog Buhari.
|
Shehucom:And you do not know that Jack is somebody's name? |
greggng:I doubt d house belongs to him. Dude was arrested in 2002 at the age of 23. |
blingxx:Don't forget that Abacha who committed worse crimes than this guy is still a hero to many including Buhari. |
crixtex:Beremx case is the case of "person wey go to babysit and the baby die" wetin she go do, no be to go home? |
daveyjay:What is irrational about naming a dog Buhari? I wonder which cave some of you live in. |
Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has re-affirmed the sack of Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The court, presided over by Justice Nwamaka Ogbonnaya, reaffirmed the sack on the ground that the judgment of Justice Valentine Ashi, which nullified his appointment on June 29 has not been set aside or vacated and is therefore subsisting. The court further held that all actions taken by Sen Sherif are null, void and of no effect since the earlier order of Justice Ashi remains binding The Court restrained Sen. Sheriff from further parading himself as the National Chairman of the PDP. Justice Ogbonnaya also ruled that Sen. Sherif should stop taking any action or convening any meeting in the name of the PDP, until the earlier judgment of Justice Valentine Ashi is set aside or vacated. Justice Ashi had in his judgment nullified the 2014 PDP Constitution amendment upon which Senator Sheriff is said to have been appointed as PDP Chairman. The court described the amendment of the party’s constitution as illegal and a violation of the Electoral Act and, therefore, declared all actions carried out with the document, including anybody parading him or herself as officer of the party as illegal. The leadership of the party has been faced with series of court orders after the controversial Port Harcourt National Convention which gave birth to the Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee. Sen. Sheriff had challenged the legality of the Caretaker Committee, insisting he is the rightful leader of the party. However, the court voided the said amendment on the basis that there was no compliance with mandatory provisions of Article 66 (2) and (3) of the PDP constitution. “By reason of the above, the purported amendments introduced to the constitution on the aforesaid dates, are hereby set-aside. “All persons, individuals, servants or agents of PDP parading themselves as national officers of the PDP pursuant to the purported amendment which has now been nullified are hereby restrained from further parading themselves in these capacities “, Justice Ashi said. http://www.channelstv.com/2016/08/17/court-re-affirms-sheriffs-sack-as-pdp-national-chairman/

deji15:He was suspended for gross misconduct and I guess you know that much. |
Clerverly:So the Port Harcourt court is not a competent one? Just listen to yourself for a second bruv. |
flyca:Egbon Gbawe is now doing waiter job there since Buhari disappointed him after he had emptied his life savings into marketing the change mantra. Dude is broke but bills gat to be paid. |
deji15:Point of correction, Sanusi was not removed as CBN governor. He was suspended and reasons were given for the act. |
segun400:That must be the Koran or some Arabic book. |
xarxes:HungerBAD would be kitchen assistant ie plate washer. He can make do with customers left overs. |
As op no fit post pic, make I help am. Beremx should be made d chief chef there and omenka d security man aka security consultant.
|
deji15:The CBN is independent and doing otherwise would amount to interference. We are true Democrats, we follow the rule of law. |
deji15:Like I said earlier, I support free trade hence I support the lift of ban on those items. However, like I said before, the CBN has the powers to decide not to provide forex for such imports hence those involved with the imports would have to use alternative sources of FOREX. |
Deji15, just in case you've forgotten; I will defend the Naira with reserves- Sanusi Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/09/i-will-defend-the-naira-with-reserves-sanusi/ |
deji15:Unbanning toothpick is not an issue as CBN could decide whether to provide forex for d importation of toothpick or not. They could have decided not to fund the importation and importers would have had to source for their forex through alternative means as is happening now. The fact is that Sanusi emptied our foreign reserves but the vast majority of Nigerians being illiterate as it were are oblivious of that fact. |
deji15:Just for the records; “CBN Defended naira with $26.6bn in 2013”: True or False? Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/01/cbn-defended-naira-26-6bn-2013-true-false/ |
deji15:The CBN is an independent institution, isn't it? |
deji15:The problem is that people who do not know how these things work just throw figures around. Where were you when Sanusi frittered our foreign reserve defending the naira? |
egift:The Ahmed Makarfi faction presented a candidate for Edo governorship election and the Sheriff group also did. Whose candidate did INEC recognise? That should give you a pointer. |
egift:The court in PH had already ruled on the validity of the Ahmed Makarfi led executive, so Justice Abang has no right to overrule a court of concurrent jurisdiction. Only a higher court can set aside that order. The convention is in order. |
A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has declared that July 4, 2016 ruling of Justice M. Liman on the decision of the National Convention that removed the former acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic People, Ali Modu Sheriff, remains valid. Delivering a judgment on Suit Number FHC/PH /CS /585/2016, filed by Senator Ben Obi for himself and other members of the National Planning Committee of the PDP, against the Inspector-General of Police, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services and the Independent National Electoral Commission, Justice Ibrahim Watila insisted that since the July 4 judgement had not been set aside by a higher court, its judgement remained effective. Justice Watila specifically said that the 1st, 3rd and 5th defendants in the matter; Inspector General of Police, Department of State Services and the Independent National Electoral Commission were also bound by the July ruling. Senator Ben Obi had asked the court to rule on whether the July 4, 2016 judgement was binding on the 1st, 3rd and 5th defendants in the matter. The trial judge explained that the court was always jealous of its ruling until it was set aside by a higher court, maintaining that, “Every authority expected to carry out a court judgement should not assist in flouting such court orders.” “This court will not shy away from protecting the sanctity of its judgment. The court has held that the appointment of the PDP National Caretaker Committee is valid,” he added. http://punchng.com/pdp-convention-decision-remains-valid-court-insists/ |
deji15:Foreign reserve is distinct from ECA. you clearly stated FOREIGN RESERVE in your original post and it wasn't $45bn in May 2010. You also clearly stated the figure for debt as Foreign debt and not a sum of both Foreign and domestic debts. It is therefore clear to all that you set out with intent to obfuscate your audience which is a hallmark of the APC. |
deji15:I couldn't be bothered to read through the trash you posted up there but a quick glance spotted some fatal errors which I'd like to correct just 2. Foreign reserve in May 2010 when GEJ took over was $38bn and nit $63bn as you've quoted. Foreign debt when GEJ left office in May 2015 was around $8bn. Stop misleading the public, elections are over. |
omenka:Yes, they squandered it on the Abuja - Kaduna rail project. What did Amaechi and Fashola squander theirs on? |
Sunofgod:He belongs to the 5% |
The police in Lagos have arraigned a website designer, Ikechukwu Iwezor, in an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defrauding a blogger to the tune of N1.7m. The 28-year-old Iwezor was brought before the magistrate, Mrs. F.F. George, on Monday on three counts of fraud. The police said Iwezor and the blogger, Ola Akinlayo, met on Nairaland, a social media platform, sometime in September 2015, and started a discussion on website designs. PUNCH Metro learnt that after reaching an agreement, Iwezor obtained N1.7m from the blogger for the purpose of designing a website for him. Iwezor, however, reportedly fled to Abuja after the payment. Akinlayo was said to have reported the matter to the police after efforts to get his money back proved abortive. Our correspondent learnt that Iwezor was subsequently apprehended at Sauka, Abuja. A police prosecutor, Sergeant Innocent Odugbo, who arraigned him on three counts of conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretences and stealing, told the court that the offences were punishable under sections 409, 312 (2) and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The charges read in part, “That you, Ikechukwu Iwezor, between September 2015 and April 8, 2016 in Lagos, within the Lagos Magisterial District, did commit felony to wit: stealing and obtaining money under false pretences. “That you, with an intent to defraud, did obtain the sum of N1.7m from one Ola Akinlayo, on the pretext of helping him to design a website, a representation you knew to be false.” The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. His counsel, Danielle Abbe, prayed the court to grant him bail on liberal terms, adding that he was innocent until proved guilty. The presiding magistrate granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000, with two sureties in like sum. She added that the sureties must show evidence of three years tax clearance and present their addresses to the prosecutor for verification. http://punchng.com/web-designer-defrauds-man-n1-7m-nairaland/ |
