I had this argument recently with a jw and he showed me some bible verses that angel Michael is Jesus Christ. I must confess this guy almost won me and over with his argument. So I want to ask, can anyone bring out bible verses to refute this claim.



I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ can never be angel Michael. I just want bible verses to refute this because the jw is coming on Saturday to continue this argument

The verse is saying that when Jesus comes, his coming will be announced by a Commanding shout, by the Voice of an Archangel and also with a trumpet of God. Remember, in the old days, when an important royal person arrives a place or visits, there must be someone announcing his arrival and most of the time Trumpets are blown or drums are beaten or any other instrument is used. This is very common with Royal Families. That's exactly what that verse is saying. It makes no sense to read that verse to say Jesus is an archangel, a commanding shout and a trumpet of God. It makes no sense. Make sure you emphasise to the JW that this verse never called Jesus an Archangel. Any verse the JW Points to you, make sure you read that verse and concentrate on this Question : Was Jesus specifically called Angel Michael in this verse?
Is there anything like Jesus is Angel Michael or Angel Michael is Jesus or Jesus was Angel Michael in Heaven? Keep asking the JW these questions over and over again. Don't allow them to distract you with twisting of words here and there. Focus on the questions and repeat them over and over again. Always remember that JWs rarely pay attention to the words of a verse. What they do instead is to add their own understanding to that verse which is against the Bible. They never allow the Bible speak to them. They instead Speak to the Bible.

This is why that same verse ranks Jesus way higher than the Angels. Angels are errand beings for Jesus whether they are Archangels or lower Angels. If you are equating Jesus to Angels, that means you are equating Angels with Almighty God. This is pure fallacy!

Now this JW is going to read 1st Thessalonians 4 vs 16. This is another verse they use to prove Jesus is an Angel. The good thing is that verse Never called Jesus Angel Michael directly. The JW is going to tell you that this verse says Jesus will come with an Archangel Voice meaning that he is an Archangel. So, read that verse and tell the JW that Does this mean that Jesus is the Commanding shout or is Jesus a trumpet? That is very incorrect. This is why it is good to use discernment to understand verses. Read this verse very well to understand what it is saying.

The verse is saying that when Jesus comes, his coming will be announced by a Commanding shout, by the Voice of an Archangel and also with a trumpet of God.
