Here, Jehovah tells Moses that in the past, he appeared in the name of God Almighty while his own name was unknown. Or let's put it in a way you can understand. He was basically saying I appeared in my surname but my name was unknown to them.
Now to verse 2
And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:
Jehovah says I am the Lord, does that mean he does not have a father? No.

These chapters are speaking of the Adamic dominion and glory.

The first Adam was given power and dominion and glory but he failed and brought death, then God made another Adam, Jesus to restore all that Adam lost. Christ must reign in his humanity until all things are put under his adamic authority and power, after this christ in this adamic dominion, authority glory and power be subject to the Father, and the adamic kingdom handed over to the father.
