Charles Taze Russell warned his followers that they would not be able to understand the Bible unless they read it under the guidance of his explanatory books.

He had about 6 volumes of these books and he titled them: "Studies in the Scripture"

He said anyone who read his explanatory books would be in the light at the end of 2 years, even if they had not read a single page of the Bible, but those who read the Bible without his explanatory books would go into darkness within 2 years.

He actually said this in The Watch Tower Magazine (September 15, 1910).

Romans 14:5 is perhaps the simplest verse in the bible. According to the bible, who are you to judge one for choosing to celebrate or esteem Christmas Day? I advise you to stick to the bible even if it offends the big white bosses of your organization. Trust me, they know nothing.
