Don't judge Super Eagles with this match. Against European and American opposition, they do better. Go watch vs Mexico, vs Uruguay, vs Spain again. They play better against top oppOsition. as |
This salahadin said is a good player. Good footwork. |
Saladdin Said is a very good player. Not a fluke |
All the nominated Nigerian players deserve to be there. Moses too. He did well in Chelsea's march to winning UEFA, and Nigeria at Nation's cup. Only Mikel and Enyeama, and maybe Emenike have chances of making final 5. But I will not be surprised if Mikel doesn't win it. He's been a team player in Chelsea, difficult to sell to non-Nigerians. Africa's best not getting first team shirt in any team in the world is a big minus. That's Mikel's cross. Yaya may win it yet again. |
Adesiji77: I sincerely need your professional advice. I am battling with serious feelings of regret! It's nearly 3 months that I left a new generation bank for a first generation bank but I can tell you that I battle with feelings of regret daily.send an email to jarushub@gmail.com |
bushwailo: University of France hires a lecturer without a masters degree.. Ignoramus. Sanusi had Msc Economics far back 1983, at 22 years. He got PhD admissions several times bbut due to banking job, couldn't start. |
nerodenero: KeeperOmeruo is back, we don't need Egwueke. Otherwise, that's our strongest 11 and most likely the team Keshi will start. Ideye to come in for either Musa or moses in second hjalf |
Mustay: I have always maintained that some threads don't need to go to FP immediately, let it chill in the bag before it's let open.I disagree. Owners of Nairaland are interested in traffic (provided the threatd mmeets basic criteria likke not illegal or immoral). This is the first place this news will be published and it's a big traffic source being a breaking news. You don't wait for 2 pages for a breaking newws or scoop before giving front page exposure? That is not good 'journalism'. adok |
naijaking1: Hired image makers working overtime to burnish a rustic personalty. What will he lecture in France, Arabic studieswe'kve been on this since 2009, so I think you're better ignored, Ibru brother. |
Dominiquez: Jarus the Bukola staunch and now unapologetic fan of Sanusi.. You're obviously new to Nairaland. Anyway, welcome. |
A lot of people thinkk oil and gas is about Shellk, Chevron, Mobil and Chevron alone. Unknown to many folks, there are many relatively unknown independents that pay only a little less than these IOCs. Many people have not heard of Afren, Sapetro, Seplat etc that offer bastard pay. A friend recentlky moved to Addax for 15m. He has 5 years experience like me. A colleague was recently poached by one independent just coming to Nigeria. He must have been offered more than 20m for him to have accepted the offer because he was earning close to that before. NB: I have always said money is not the only thing and oil and gas is not the only sector. If you're good, irrespectie of where you work, money wilkl soon come. In fact, at some point ,all these things converge, irrespective of the industry you work. a E |
A couplke of my friends with 3-5 years experience from somewhere got Chevron offers recently and they were offered between 21-24m. That's presumably second level. |
algorithm: Oga jarus please your help is neeeded here.Thanksthe question is actually not thoughtful enough. Well, generally, technical guys (engineers and allied fields) take like 60-70 percent[ support functions like HOUR Human resource, accounts, economists, etc take the rest. Asking for per centage of mechanical, chemical, electrical etc is dumb, sorry to say. |
OjaP: Jarus,. Nope. I don't work with Total. Athough I have had all my career in the industry. I have undergone recruitment process in Shell, Total upstream, Total downstream, Chevron, Mobil, Oando, Seven Energy, Master Energy, got offers from 4 of those and worked with 2. I'm an accountant. In addition to the answers to questions on this thread provided by Debosky, 2good and co, I also attempted answering some questions on the subject on my blog: http://www.jarushub.com/questions-answers-on-oil-gas-career-i/ http://www.nairala E |
nitrogen: Front pageI even thought it's a new topic until I opened the thread. We dealt thoroughly with this thread 3 years ago. I hope Debosky and co are still around to attend to oyel questions. :Dsh |
homesteady: Has he finally realised that he'll never become the Emir of kano?. Man go chop before current Emir 'climbs the roof' nah abi you wan make him go staraight to palace from CBN office? |
This is exclusive. CBN governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi will be taking up a lecturing job at a university in France after his tenure at CBN ends next year June. For a man with such global standing, I think it is only expected that ivory towers around the world go after him for knowledge dissemination. Sanusi has always said he wanted to do his PhD but banking job made it difficult for him to achieve that, after gaining PhD admission a couple of times. I think now is the time for him to fully face academics and go ahead to become a professor. Being a great writer, with often strong views, I also think newspaper houses in Nigeria should start approaching him to take up a weekly column. We will like to keep reading from him. I am an unapologetic fan of SLS and I wish him the best. http://www.jarushub.com/sanusi-returns-to-classroom-after-cbn-tenure/ UPDATED: Sanusi refuted the story this morning. Misleading information regretted: http://www.jarushub.com/sanusi-is-not-teaching-in-a-french-university/ all |
tanimola22: Hi House Members, Good evening to all of you!We discussed this 2 years ago. Well, today, things have changed. I don't know teh figure today, but I think Shell now pays way more than 6m for entry level. Even in independents like mine, entry level is just a little short of 6m. |
tellwisdom: Wht is wrong with these Nigerians with their poor low mentality.Seun is not poor. Seun is comfortably a millionaaire (in NGN) today! Count the adverts that dot Nairaland and the rates and do the math. A home page advert on Nairaland is about N0.2m per month. Count the number of hompage ads, not to talk of other individual sections, that Nairaland runs and do the math. |
I hope they pre-informed Seun about this. In any case, it's a good development for Nairaland and Seun. More popularity for Nairaland, more revenue, more formal recognition. The GTBs of this world will begin to place adverts on Nairaland. I still believe Nairaland has huge potential. For now, Seun is not aggressive about advert, but I think there is a bigger potential. Seun needs a public relations arm that will do proposals to corporate outfits for advert and opportunities. A website that turns in 60m views per month and ranks in top 1000 websites in teh world is no joke! GTBs of this world can pay millions for advert or special communications, beyond the 228k per month advert Seun currently runs (which should also go side by side anyway - just discriminatory pricing with some add-ons/packages for the bigger corporate clients). |
MORE THAN ENOUGH |
AjaraEwuro: no need to finish it, its enough. If everyone posts pictures of their trip abroad on NairaLand, Nairaland servers will crash. ![]() |
When you'jre rich you'kre rich. I don't bkllame the guy, it was a matter of life and death |
lagcity: Naija ppl are very emotional. they read half a sentence, throw their hands on their heads and scream mogbe ooo. ![]() |
Thanks bros. |
That I died. I made a post on facebook that I lost someone. Somebody shared the post, and you know, on Facebook the shared post will read my name too as writer of the post. One semi-literate on seeing my name thought I was the one that died. Some of my childhood friends began calling one another to confirm until one was courageous enough to call me directly, and I told them that that was strange and nothing happened to me. The person said teh source was facebook. I remembered I made a facebook post about someone dying and I told teh guy someone must have misinterpreted my post. |
Afam4eva: Mo to dibo fun blog ee.... Thanks bro, would do. Odunma ![]() |
I used to be one of the most active folk on this section of Nairaland, and even won 2nd Best Poster in 2009. I decided to open my own career portal few months ago, and within just 8 months of floating my career blog, it was nominated in 2 categories in the ongoing Nigeria Blog Awards sponsored by Fidelity Bank and co. 1, Career Blog of the Year. 2, Nigerian Career Blog of the Year. I therefore call on my teeming Nairaland buddies who have benefitted from my selfless articles to vote for me in the 2 categories. http://www.jarushub.com/5-reasons-why-you-should-vote-jarushub-as-nigerias-blog-of-the-year-2013/ don't forget to read the instructions.
