Best result: 1st (pry 6, SSS1-3) Worst result: 34/44 (Primary 2) |
I came 34, 21 and 14 around pry 2-3 and 2nd-7th frm pry 4-6, but ended with 1st position in last term in pry schl. JSS 1-3, 2nd-4th but once finished 7th in JSS2. SSS 1-3: Credit system, no official ranking but always having best result in class, with 8-9 credits. If there was ranking, would be 1st thruout SSS1-3. |
Unfortunately, PDP will win rerun. CPC of today is not the CPC of April 2011. 1, The Buhari factor will hardly be there, because Buhari himself is not contesting any election 2, PDP has gained more grounds - being in power in the last 10 months. |
It can be as short as 2 days, like my current job which test and interview and every other thing took less than 4 days. It can also be as long as 6 months. |
Like Kaduna, Katsina, Gombe, another state CPC bungled due to their lack of organization and improper conduct at the preceding election(presidential). |
Dr Femi Adekanye died on Tuesday. I did a full-page Tribute to him in Thisday of today(Page 34). Good night, mentor. |
Book N Gauge IX: Nine and Still Counting Eight editions of Book n Gauge gone; and we’re still counting … The ninth edition is here! Book n Gauge is hosted by PulpFaction Book Club, in collaboration with Debonair Bookstore, Yaba, Lagos, and Wordsmithy Media. Book n Gauge IX: Nine and Still Counting would feature El-Nukoya; author, Nine Lives; Soul sensation NayoSoul and Spoken word performer Razaq Ivori. El-Nukoya whose work is in focus at this edition of has written what literary critics describe as “an authentic Nigerian blockbuster” and a “riveting page turner.” El-Nukoya did his first degree in Lagos, and graduate studies in North America. He currently lives and works in Lagos. According to El Nukoya, the idea to put his thoughts on paper came in 1990 when he moved with his family to a quiet suburban neighbourhood in Lagos, Nigeria. “In my solitude, great rock and rap music lyricists such as Seal, Sting, Bono and Tupac Amaru Shakur brought me companionship. Inspired by their talent, I felt an urge to create something that was universal and timeless. The prevailing socio-political situation in Nigeria provided me with a virile subject. It was six years before I could pause,” El-Nukoya. The 9th edition will also feature appearances by rising Soul/Pop Sensation, NayoSoul and spoken word artiste, Rasaq Ivori. NΑYÒ, singer, vocalist started performing live as a teenager at age 19, which soon grew to regular performances. She has recorded three songs – Unconditional Love, Destiny Train and Rhythm of the Sound. Her music is earthy, light, melodic, joyful, and almost airborne. Although she stumbled on soul/jazz music by accident, she has however become addicted to the voice, instrumentation and arrangement of the music. Some of her influences include: Janelle Monae, Corrine Bailey Rae, Adele Adkins, India Arie, Lauryn Hill, Chrisette Michele, Jill Scott, Pink and newly discovered, Esperanza Spalding. Rasaq Ivori longs to bring back the art of the quintessential town crier poetic semantics which he dubs “narrative news”—a system where actual news content is infused in free flowing prose rendition like the Yoruba “ewi”, though delivered in English yet not without the characteristic melodic chant of the past. For six months, Ivori premiered this art at the Bogobiri House, ikoyi, where some said the uproar it generated prompted the proprietors to establish a full scale stage house next door for performance poetry. Book N Gauge 9 will hold at the Debonair Bookstore 294 Sabo Yaba Lagos between 2-5pm. There will be auctions, book signings, lively discussions and readings. The event which has featured seasoned writers and poet including, Lola Shoneyin, Jude Dibia, Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo, Tony Kan, Sam Omatseye promises to provide one-on-one interaction between authors and readers, and a platform for interaction and networking among book enthusiasts. |
Sudge, Cocoa, your donations confirmed. God bless. |
Soon, you will know the 'real cabals' from genuine importers! |
Ok, I don't see anything wrong in listing popular Nairalanders that we know finished from Ife, and at no place did I write that the list is exhustive. Also, I did this thread oblivious of similar threads and this generated more replies than others, and it is not my duty, not being education section mod, to collapse them into one. |
repeat thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-866701.0.html jarus you tend to name call too much- dont know if you just like being clique-ish or you're simply not comfortable outside your comfort zone. i think i've posted on at least two threads dedicated to this topic- might be better if things are streamlined on one thread instead of multiple topics everywhere although ogf course its a free world. ife has plenty of alumni besides the ones you listed- dont think there's a need for all this exclusivity since oau is not a country club with selective membership. no offence, but that's my opinion and you're free to attack me for this later if you're so inclined.
so, if an entirely different topic drifts to an issue and warrants same examples/cases, it has become a crime to re-narrate the cases/examples/stories? |

WhyAWhy:i didnt know Tope was eventually able to beat Deji. Tope was my mate(entered 2001) but, ours being a 4-year course, we finished a year ahead of him. Tope used to stay in Awo Block 7, ground floor when I was staying in middle floor. I used to hear about him from Tech guys. He was said to be Deji's friend and mate at Suleja Academy(1999 set) and we learnt he was the best student in their set and Deji was 4th(and the other 2 guys in-between them also came to Ife, but travelled abroad before the end of year 1). But JAMB shocked Tope once and he found himself in Yabatech(where he also shattered record with highest ND CGPA ever at the end of his ND programme). on second attempt at JAMB, he got admission into Ife, now a year junior to Deji. We used to hear then that whatever Deji scored in any case, Tope, who will be writing the course, will set a target for himself to score higher when he wrote the course the next session. Deji broke school record in 2006, and that was when I left, never knew Tope was able to surpass him the following. omho, Ife na bad school o. if you think you sabi book, u go meet people wey turn you ordinary. my childhood friend(same primary and secondary schools) who was best wassce student in Kwara state in 2000 had the misfortune of being in same class with Deji in Ife. my friend tried all he could to beat Deji, but iwe pass iwe. my friend, a genius in his own right now with Phd from Arkansas and works for Shell US, was only able to settlke for second behind Deji, with gap as wide as 0.2. loma on this thread is another of those guys. dem sabi for Ife. |

;DBros, I'm also hustling to enter the upper part of the stream o. I'm still very active in the labour market ![]() |
Oil & Gas. Policy formulation/analysis institution. These are the only two institutions I have always wanted. I have 4 years experience in the former, although on the low end of the stream. I have always wanted to go to the later sector(CBN being one of them), but with 4 years experience and current annual package running into that last prime single-digit million , I don't know what public sector holds for me. |
Too bad. Result of rich persons that send their children to school/live abroad without proper parental care. And whoever says their being a Muslim has something to do with this is insane. We've had many cases of Nigerian children misbehaving abroad, including Prof Tunde Adeniran's son, and nobody brought their religion into picture. |
And to think Doumbia didn't make CIV's first 11, even first 14, in the last ANC! |
^ Can there be one engaging enough to neglect salat? |

We use oracle ERP in our company and it's a great tool. All we do is feeding the modules transaction data and running the necessary programmes and reports. You check the reasonability and output and do some others checks(on very rare occasions, you may have system errors). We invested multi million Naira into this. |
That is Musa's 3rd goal for CSKA but all have been in friendlies. |
