Bad boi

What of VC, Olembe, Obesere, Revolution. M.M,
I knew all of them.
VC still dey Ife o. Na so I hear o. As a postgraduate student though. The longest-serving student in OAU history grin
MM is on Nairaland. He was like a school father to me in my year 1, and our room was like his campaign secretariat when he contested and won presidency.
Obesere is the most disarmingly vocal student in OAU is the last 20 years. The guy get mouth.
Olembe was Awo chair when I was in year 2.

Btw, Tony Fash don graduate o. After 21 years in Ife(1989-2010). I read it in newspaper a couple of weeks ago.

Non-Ife guys here, abeg no vex o . That's how OAU guys take over discussions any where you have 2, 3 of them. Same happens in my office here. smiley

Bros, we are not even going to fight for any best loser. Nigeria is topping that group. I don't bet, but you will say I said this.
Nigeria will beat Guinea at home by a margin wider than the 1-0 they beat us and also win Madagascar on their soil

I wont applaud your efficiency . The question is what drove you to be so obsessively efficient. It can not just be getting a job of work after graduation? We are talking about more personal drivers.
The interplay of the three factors earlier listed drove me. No more, no less.

1, While in school, I knew that the only thing I can do to get a good job post-school, was to be outstanding in my studies and graduate in flying colours. The knowledge of this propelled me to go extra miles.

2, I like competition. I always test my ability by competing with others. I approach every exams with telling myself, 'nobody must score above you'. If I don't eventually score the highest mark, I end up getting close, or at worst just passing.

3, I hate to be among 'others'. I hate to plays secodn fiddle. I like to be among the frontliners. I like the Topmost spot, but I've found myself not achieving it some times. But any thing short of TOP  X (X<=10) is very hard for me to take. The desire to keep myself among the Top guys always propels me in my academics. I like it(though will not show it) when your classmates see you and tell their friends 'oh, that guy is among the Top guys in my class'. Call this writing exams to the gallery if you like.
Islam › Our Condolence Message To Lagosboy by Jarus(op): 11:45am On Nov 01, 2010
Inna lilahi wa inna Ilaehi Rajiun

It is with heavy hearts that I, on behalf of all members of this section and NL Muslims in general, send our condolence message to one of our own own, Ustaz Lagosboy, over the death, few days ago, of his loving dad.

Lagosboy is one the most valuable contributors to this section and one of our knowledgeable brothers and teachers.

We pray almighty Allah forgive Alhaji's short comings and admit him into al-jannah firdous.

Our heart goes to you, our brother. We believe you will find your strenght in Allah at this trying period.

Jarus,
On behalf of NL Muslim Ummah.

But dear Jarus, this your signature of Nuhu Ribadu 2011 baffles me ooo! HAs he given you some , ?
This is why I don't like to frequent this students, WAEC and JAMB section again.
Do you think I'm a student like you? FYI, I am, by God's grace, an Economist-cum-Accountant by profession, and a public affairs commentator by interest.
If only you frequent Politics section of NL at least, you will be aware of the current political debate and contributors' affiliation.

Education › Re: Which School Is The Best University In Nigeria And Why? by Jarus(m): 8:28pm On Oct 31, 2010
Have you guys ever wondered why:
1, Any thread on Best University in Nigeria always turned into OAU vs Others, as is happening here again?
2, Ife(where he lectured) featured more prominently on Wole Soyinka's profile than UI, where he schooled?
3, Gani Fawehinmi, on his deathbed, said his corpse should be given to Unife if they want it?
4, Ife students' honour to Gani(1988-SAM) stuck and became nationally quoted?
5, Ife students, more than of any schools in ,Nigeria, always dominate discourse? On NL here, even in open discussions, you see that spirit(espirit de corp) among them. And before anybody says we are jobless, by God's grace, I'm posting from a top oil company, and many Ife folks here post from big MNCs.

No, there must be something truly great about that school, jokes apart.

@Tunsbobo, I doubt if you ever attended OAU. Can't you be objective for once? Look at the way Johnpaul addressed the issue with maturity and without insults? Please borrow a lead from him on that!

@Johnpaul, I'm learning something new, please continue but I'll tell people around me who know so much about OAU that they've all lied!

@Naruto, help me tell them o

In all, what I want to point out is that OAU's bragging is too much! I won't oppose UI's bragging though.
But wait oh, why is it that OAU people are so much on nairaland? Hope It's not unemploymenthuh I mean go to romance section and etc you'll find them there. No offence meant at all, just an observation. I'm outta here and I won't change or edit any post.

@all, Answer the question, otherwise, leave!
If only you know where we are posting from, you will not utter this.
So, you think NL posters are jobless. FYI, there are managers in top local and global corporations on NL here, and I know OAU alumni on NL that are in big companies like Chevron US, Oando Nigeria, Rencap(one of the world's most respected investment banking institutions), not to talk of guys here posting from Banks etc.

So pls don't go there!

I'm a Yoruba Muslim, Lagos-based and I want to marry a beautiful Fulani lady, how do I go about it?

I learnt you ladies are too materially-inclined? Is it true.

Enlighten me.

Hausa/Fulani is a political creation. In reality, they are different tribes, the only common thing being religion.

mmmmm Jarus

Why did you delete those posts?

Are you supposed to be guilty of the same crime, we accuse  our leaders of?

You shouldn't abuse your power as a moderator to cover up criminality.

The point remains that you know a Top manager of Mobil on this thread. This has introduced another dimension to this matter.
Apologies I had to delete the posts. It could have serious implications for the guy. Pardon me, I just had to that. I take the blame for making such comments, without thinking about the implication. You will agree with me that using Mod privilege to save somebody from a career-threatenable action is pardonable.

But honestly, it's not Texazzpete. I don't know Texazzpete off-NL. In fact this person just made a passing comment, totally unrelated to the main issue.

Accept my apologies dear.
