amazonia:Issues like this can be self-treated by searching. My serach returned the following: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-95670.0.html https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-152364.0.html https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-331326.0.html Most times, you get familiarized with buzzwords and abbreviations on any forum through conscious and sub-conscious noting. Overtime, you get used to it. But most abbreviations on NL are those used elsewhere. |

How dare anybody compare ACCA with CFA? Even ICAN is tougher than ACCA. |
I don't see anything wrong in this. |
^ See Babatunde Aremu must have gone totally insane. He still has the guts to speak. If an Asian man were in his shoes, he would have committed suicide From one cattle rearer to another. No wonder Nigerian football is going nowhere. |
Why is it that it is now that the Media now remembers Amos Adamu is a Yoruba? Why did they suddenly begin to to tell us his other names 'Babatunde Aremu'? I questioned Daily Trust columnist, Ish'aq Modibbo Kawu on this a while. He is a Yoruba guy from Osun, but born and raised in Kebbi, so claims Kebbi. But I hate when Nigerians play politics with tribe. But it is not their fault, rather than blame Adamu only, people have begun blaming the entire Hausa/Fulani for Adamu's crime, until they were reminded Amos Adamu is a Yoruba man. |

What do I stand to gain in deleting Emegwali thread? I find it funny when guys here say we Mods have hatred for a certain personality or use forum to promote some people. I have been accused of using forum to promote Sanusi, IBB or against Awolowo, Igbo, and now Emeagwali. Igbos accuse me of favouring Yoruba by deleting Igbo threads or sending them to tribalism section, Yoruba accuse me of hating them and Awo. Now which one do we believe? These are things you face in when you deal with people of varying background and levels of intelligence, which we have learnt to manage. The fact is neither the forum owner, nor we Mods, cares about any personality. We do our jobs to the best of our ability. I remember when I was doing a pro-Sanusi thread lats year, spambot hit and it disappeared. I never accused NL officials then of bias. Now a certain anti-Sanusi nairalander did a thread and Spambot struck again and all I began to hear was I was the one that deleted it. The same thing here. I personally subscribe to the opinion that PE exaggerated his achievements, but will never use forum privilege to suppress contrary opinions. Guys, let's try to understand ourselves. Like Ahmadu Bello said, we will laways be different but we can learn to understand our differences. Strike out the mindset that Mods hate certain person or people. It only leads to suspicion and misinterpretation. |
I have never deleted any thread on Emeagwali. If at all I deleted a post, it has to be one of those highly insultive comments, which are unlikely to be made by you, knowing you well on the forum as not somebody given to insults. I'm not aware, too, that other Mods here deleted your post. Maybe spambot is at work here. Sometimes, when posting long, usually but not necessarily copy and paste, posts, spambot strikes, since many spams have these features. |
Zayhal, Noted. Azharuddin, Will act on it. Uplawal, Reporting is making peace. Abuzola, We miss you. Pls come back fully. |
Late 2001 in my year 1 in Varsity. My friend who had learnt how to open Yahoo few weeks earlier took me to a cafe on campus and I paid. He was the one doing all the browsing, whiel I watched. Tired of payong and just looking, I went alone teh next time. I got stuck along the way, but I was shy to ask teh Cafe operator or person sitting next what to do because the lady that was sitting beside me was my faculty mate, and she will see me as a bush boy. Instaed of logging out and coem back another time, I was just sitting there waiting for my time to expire. That was how I wasted money at the cafe. |
aze:in fact you were there with Philip Emeagwali ![]() |
The reality is Atiku of today is a walk-over for GEJ. Atiku of 2003 would have given even the then incumbent Obj a run for his money, but his political structure, inherited from Sheu Musa Yar'adua, has collapsed. IBB, let's face it, is teh only PDP person that can give GEJ a run for his money. The atmosphere is the North, according to friends over there, is one of massive support for Buhari. Sai Baba, Mai Gaskiya etc are few of the slogans over there, all in praise of Buhari. I'm talking about teh masses, not the elites. With GEJ almost sure of PDP ticket, the race is going to be between him, Buhari and Ribadu. If AC and CPC can work out an alliance, then PDP's end may be in sight. |
Fashola handled that impressively! But that does not stop the fact that he had to hire a private firm to collect tax on behalf of the state, that is sheer madness! and he was boldly defending it in Uk? Imagine united states or uk hiring private firms to collect their taxes?
I'm not sure there is anything wrong in hiring a private firm to collect tax on your behalf, if that's eocnomical, that is, if doing so is less expensive or only marginal more expensive but more effective, than government doing it. Even large private firms like mine outsource tax function. I believe private firm will be more effective and accountable in handling it. |
Happy Birthday sir |
alj harem: alj harem:As you know all too well, any topic on Biafra and related issue is basically a Igbo Vs Others discussion and tribal rants are unavoidable. WE think that is teh best section for it. It can still continue to expose whatever truth you want to expose in the current Tribalism section. |
Mukina2 and Uplawal, pls take it easy my dear sisters. Meanwhile, let the thread continue between Ify and her teachers, while we watch. Further digressive posts will be shown the bin. |
Inna Lilahi wa inna ilaehi rajiun |

It's spambot at work, simple. It attacks at times long, copy and paste posts, moreso when repeated. If you continue to try posting it, it will auto-ban you. If you read this thread from beginning, you would have seen similar complaints. Your own is even fair, at least it hasn't banned you. I have also been a victim. So nobody cares about any Philip Emeagwali. In any case, I will link the thread to the Admin and Supermod to restore it and make it visible. |
Amin. |
On behalf of the Admin, officials and all members of Nairaland, we wish our Muslim brothers and sisters on Nairaland and beyond Happy Eid Kabir celebrations. We thank Allah for making us witness yet another Eid on earth. We pray He makes us witness many more on earth. While we savour the meats and food, let the message of the festival not lost on us. Eid Mubarak |
netotse:Moved to Jokes. Thanks abagoro:Ok, I'll contact Admin to restore your ID. But please next time when you attempt making a post/thread and spambot is not allowing you to, just come here and report after a single attempt. Subsequent atempts will lead to automatic ban by the anti-spam bot, as happened here. |
= Jokes |
becomrich5: ![]() Laughing thunderoulsy at BCR's intervention, as I move the thread to Nairaland section |
