ElRazur:ok, this comes to me as a threat too. Apologize ![]() I have had to apologize on this forum before(even on this thread) when I realized the other party was right. But this one, no way. I did not threaten him, I only warned him and I don't have any regrets. I will not apologize. Get that. |
Saraki is the best of those PDP crooks contesting for president. No doubt about that.
Hard, but I find it difficult to disagree with this. |
netotse:Honestly, that was what I said when I read the interview this morning too. |
I stand by my claim that I did not threaten him, I only warned him to back off: Here is our exchange: ME 2 HIM Dude, what exactly is your problem? Anytime you come to Nairaland, all you do is find my posts, derail it and give it religious undertone. This stalking is getting out of hand, and I wonder what your problem is. Go spit your jealousy elsewhere pls. Please be warned. Back off pls.HIM 2 ME To be published verbatim as soon as he gives me permission. But the import was he said I was flattering myself and said he would, going forward, be avoiding my threads ME 2 HIM, RESPONSE My message to u is simple: back off. Stop chasing me around. Perhaps that will heal your insecurity.I may not be nice in my mails to him, but definitely not a threat. And who will be nice when warning somebody that provoked you? |
Having known you quite well on this forum, I have come to know you thrive on irrational arguments. What I find amusing about you is that you try to present yourself as one fierce, knowledgeable critic, a la Gani Fawehinmi, an informed one - criticizing everything and every one -, but the more you try, the more you come across as one opinionated, yet unprincipled guy that thrives on irrational arguments. I always ignore people like you, even though I'm far from being a gentleman. A few questions: Don't you think you you need to check yourself when 95% of the contributors okayed the 'award' stuff which was pure fun, but you saw it otherwise, went ahead to open your thread, but ended up being another MamaGee Vs 190 play ground? Is it a co-incidence that you started criticizing me around since I did that thread on NL 50 and your name was not there? Can you tell me what is unrelated to Politics in POLITICS SECTION POSTER OF THE YEAR and POLITICAL PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR? And FYI, Xavier you're defending here, has been my very good friend on NL for over two years now and we both respect each other, inspite of our frequent disagreements. |
ElRazur:His question here was not sending him emails, but claiming I got his email thru NL mod privilege. That was what I clarified. of course, he has the right to tell me not to send him email, but to lie about the source, I wont take. While we are at it, please avoid spamming the forum with you useless and rubbish "awards type-thread". I see no reason for your sticky thread as it bear no relation whatsoever to politics.I can see you're still writhing in pain for your non-inclusion in my list of 50 MEN THAT SHOOK NL 2005-2010. Don't worry, we will give you a look next time ![]() But it may interest you that awards/ranking/rating is not by any means a childish thing. Even a publication as reputable as TIME magazine gives award as Man of the year etc. Top 10, Person of the Year, and other forms of ranking/awards is done everywhere. Socome up with another argument |
1, GENEVIEVE: Still struggling to understand what the hype is all about. Overrated. 2, OLU MAINTAIN: If his performance in recent time is anything to go by, one will say his hit 'Yahoozee' was a fluke. 3, FUNKE AKINDELE: Highly overrated. What's teh big deal in speaking local, ilu-oke dialect 4, RITA DOMINIC: Ibonu 5, ALI NUHU: Looks and acts too fake. A kind of wannabe |
Eeyah. Insensitive government. Irrational trailer drivers. It's a pity innocent souls will have to pay the price. |
Certainly, it's an Helicopter. It's an emergency landing. No, it's not an emergency landing, it's to survey the area before presidential visit. Which one do we believe? A nation of confusionists |
Don't drop the business. I don't believe Zaria is too small for business. I know somebody that started in even a smaller town than Zaria, Offa, but is not a multi-millinaire. He started with small scale block making industry in 1984, but today boasts of a group: petrol station, primary school, secondary school, pre-university preparatory school, college of education and his university is still in progress. All his business life and empire are in a small town of Offa. So I don't think Zaria is too small to make it. Innovate, introduce new business idea, give a shot diversifying. You may however carry out a survey and feasibility study of your business in Abuja. Since you have up to 40 staff, I believe you can give the Zaria outfit to a trusted person to oversee for you, while you give Abuja a trial. But pls don't drop the Zaria business outright for an untested, uncertain Abuja. |
Yes, there is an ethnic group as Shuwa Arab in parts of Borno and Adamawa states. They are usually very beautiful. Maryam Abacha, I think, is Shuwa Arab. |
Forced marriage has no place in Islam. This is therefore alien to Islam and an attempt to abuse religion. If anything, spousal consent is the first condition in Muslim marriage, followed by parental consent. |
The thread will be moved to right section as soon as you are attended to. TKB was there some years back. Why will BB not work in Adamawa. It surely will. There will surely be internet too. On newspapers, when I was in Sokoto only Daily Trust, Sun and maybe Leadership got there same day. That was 2007/2008. I guess same for Yola. For other papers, you get a day's edition the next day. Punch didn't get to Sokoto at all. On flight, I think Arik goes there but not everyday. I remember my official trip to Yola last December was cancelled because there was nbo flight on the day I was meant to be there unfailingly. I'm not sure you will have somewhere to do your law thing other than in Ministry of Justice or a private chamber. Altogether, your fears are misplaced.Being posted to Adamawa is not the end of life. After all, I also served in a core North, when I had opportunity to come back to Lag, and I never spent 3 weeks at home after NYSC before getting a job on coming back to Lag,ahead of folks that served in Lagos. I also have a guy, extremely brilliant guy, now in Cambridge, that served in rural Jigawa all through, despite opportunity to run back to Lag. In fact, I encourage people to go and serve outside Lagos, in another part of the country, and have a feel of another environment. So, whether your BB will work or not, should not deter you. If however, you have a sure opportunity in Lag that will outlast service year, then coming back to Lag should be in order. |
sharkins:If you've got a good CV, then I'll PM my email address to you to send your CV to. No guaranteeing of course, but I can pass it on to my guys there to help pass on to their HR. |

They knew that their vote doesn't count as far as kw st is concern. so they are not encouraged. What you failed to accept is that election since 1999 are rigged to favour saraki & candidate OK. Either outsiders vote or not. I told you am a full participant, we knw our mercenary. We cant continue like this. We need a change ok. like i told you earlier i can prove how to you if you want ok.OK. God help you . . . but I have never said we don't need a change. and by the way which LGA are you from in kw state ?Offa. have you ever participate in electioneering in kw state b4 ? just asking pls1999, underage, can't vote. 2003, was in school, outside Kwara. 2007, outside Kwara, serving. But having lived the first 19 years of my life in Kwara and following Kwara politics very well, I strongly doubt I'm not in touch with Kwara politics. |
netotse:I don leave am after trying to explain to him to no avail, claiming he knows Kwara more than me. The reality is most of the apathy is commonest among non-indigenes who are less bordered about the state's politics How many Ibos or Hausa in Ilorin have time to queue and vote, especially at Chairmanship, councillorship, state and NA, and even gubernatorial levels? The fact is majority of the actual voters are those market men and women, those okada riders, those ARTISANs, those core local men and women |
LouisThoru:Source pls? |
sholasys:There is nothing complicated here. When we say population of a place, it's simply the number of people living there, irrespective of their origin. So when population of Lagos is said to be 13 million, you think it's the population of Lagos indigenes only. |
sholasys:While the issue of whether Saraki will lose in a free and fair lection is debatable, don't tell me Kwara South are the majority in Kwara. Or maybe you mean by land mass, not by population. Offa is by far the largest town in Kwara South and its populaion is not up to 250,000. You can then begin to talk of Omu Aran, Oro, Ajase etc, none of which is up to 100,000 by population. The whole of Offa, Irepodun, Ifelodun, Ekiti, Isin, Oke -ero and Oyun LGAs that make up Kwara South is not as populated as Ilorin city. That's the reality. They have the population, and by extension, electoral advantage. |

mbulela:Good, you know I'm not Buhari's spokesperson. When asked the question about teh Sharia/Islamic thing in his NVS interview, this is what he said: Question: General, I hope you’re aware that some years ago there was a controversy around a statement credited to you somewhere in Sokoto state in which you are reported to have said that Muslims should vote for Muslims. Now whether you were misquoted or not, whether you were misrepresented or not, that has caused some anxiety and some concern, understandably, to some Christians in the south of the country, in the Middle Belt, even in the north itself. So how do you intend to sell your candidacy to those people who have perceived you wrongly or rightly as a sectional candidate who is popular in the North because he is seen as the champion of Islam and Sharia? How do you propose to appeal to people who are concerned legitimately and anxious about you being a president who will implement Sharia nationally or who will limit the rights of Christians and promote the interest of Muslims? I want you to speak to those people. General Buhari: Well, that perception remains. I know in 2003 I wrote to many Bishops and I could recall I visited (inaudible) in 2003 and 2007. As you said, it happened in Sokoto in 2000 before I participated in elections. The person who reported me by tribe is a Yoruba man, by religion a Muslim. He was not in Sokoto and does not understand Hausa, maybe he still doesn’t. How he got the story I don’t know. And the comment I made was that people in Sokoto know their people, that when the ban on politics is lifted they should choose the people that will represent them responsibly. This is common sense: if someone aspires to rule this country, he cannot afford to offend even pagans or even atheists—those who don’t even believe in God. These are the people that will vote. How can I say Muslims should not vote for Christians? Then do I expect Christians to vote me, a Muslim? I wrote to the Bishops. I explained to them, but I think, as you mentioned, perception, people hold on to their perception. Even the church leaders were careful to explain to their flock that there is no way any leader will, at the federal level, antagonize any of the religions. So, I wrote to the Bishops to explain but I am still very surprised that the perception remains. So there is nothing I can do about it, but I will continue to explain my position. And I have backed it by facts that I have served the country’s military for 25 years. I did all the command and staff work, as a platoon commander to General Officer Commanding and the only still surviving officers that commanded three of the four commands in the Nigerian Army. And the Nigerian Army is about 75% Christian and nobody has ever said I took a decision against anybody because of his religion or his tribe. There are other tribes in the whole command. So, if for politically it sticks that I don’t like Christians, well it is very very unfortunate, but my performance in office at all stages has portrayed me as an impartial person, and I have believe that whoever is still bringing that case up, for whatever vote, will definitely fail in a free and fair election. The question of me being a sharia advocate and a hater of Christians has never happened and it will certainly fail. http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/nvs/politicians-would-be-the-first-victims-of-sharia-if-properly-implemented-buhari.html |
