That's surprising given that Japan has better name as a footballing nation than Qatar. Japan even has players playing in Europe.

I also stay in Bur Dubai but i noticed i do most of my shopping on Deira. I rarely buy stuff at Dubai mall and other high end malls.
Gbam. You just described me. Only get a couple of things in Dubai Mall, Wafi, Burjuman but the real deal in Deira.
SportsRe: African Nations Cup Adjusted For Ramadan, To Begin On June 21 (PHOTO) by Jarus(m): 7:19am On Jan 29, 2019
Chanchit:
Nonsense. So if South Africa or even Nigeria wants to host the Nations cup, you will tell us to wait because of Ramadan. We just no get standard for this Africa. Abi the players can tell their clubs in Europe to postpone match because they are fasting?!
Local conditions are considered in football. Egypt the host is a predominantly Muslim nation. Ramadan will not just affect players of the host nation (who should have home advantage as host - reward for agreeing to host) but also spectators, who may be reduced because of fasting.

FIFA WC 2022 will not hold in the traditional June/July but November/December due to Qatar local condition.

Na only she dey serve Pounded Yam that is Pounded with Mortar, na only she get Nigerian Grinding machine (Ero Ata).

Funny thing, Deira is my best part of Dubaii for some weird reason.
I dont like lodging in Deira. Too noisy in my view. I prefer Bur Dubai/Oud Metha and that's where I lodged in all the 4 times I have vacationed in Dubai. However I realise that I spend more time in Deira (for relatively inexpensive shopping) than other places and we spend a lot on transport to Deira from our hotel on our daily visits, so my family have convinced me to lodge in Deira when next we holiday in Dubai.

Yes, they have more oil than Nigeria and they are way smaller than Nigeria. That is not an excuse for Nigeria though. Credit to UAE's visionary leadership.

The man does not really like taking photos. You must be really adamant to force him into taking a picture.

Even journalists find it difficult to get him to take pictures after interviews.
I was told that by friends when I made a FB post about it after my experience.

Ran into him at the rest room, greeted him and politely asked for photo when we got back to the departure lounge, he refused.

There's a man who has a shop in Deira, he is a native Indian but is referred to as Papa Nigeria. This man speaks Yoruba. He even knows few words in Igbo and Hausa. This picture is from his shop.
Gbam. I experienced this last year March when I last visited.

Took this picture of that Papa Nigeria shop.

It's close to the entrance of that Gold market.

Those guys speak Yoruba words

Earlier in the day, we passed by a shop that sells nuts, dried fruits and sweets. Everything from peanuts to pistachios, chocolate to candy, apricot to pineapples. These kind of items are priced per kilogram but you aren't obligated to purchase an entire kilogram. You can always buy less but the least seems to be quarter of a kilogram.
I bought a quarter kilo of dried apricots yesterday. Cost me 7AED but that thing tastes awful. lipsrsealed
I think I know here in Deira. Not very far from that gold souk. I used to buy the nuts too, like it

In many shops in Deira, many shop keepers speak smattering Hausa and Yoruba.

Did some research in the past and found out 10percent of people living in Dubai are native citizen while the remaining 90 percents are Indians and foreigners.
Yes. There are more Indians in Dubai (and UAE) than there are Emiratis (citizens). Actually, you hardly come across their citizens anywhere - you tend to see them in those exotic shopping malls etc.
