Ehinmen3: BY Pa. Ehinmen I am writing this piece in response to certain individuals who has sought to know the achievement of the pastor Osagie ize-Iyamu. Well to being, it is noteworthy that we bear in mind that ize iyamu has only been a government appointee and has never been elected. However, let me give us a run down of the achievements of ize iyamu. Ize iyamu served as a Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Edo state government from 1999 to 2007. In that position he was able to influence world banks projects to Edo state. These world bank projects benefited the rural communities by providing portable water through boreholes and also in road construction. Before 1999, the erosion problems in most parts of Edo state especially Benin city was best described as 'catastrophic'. However, through these world bank projects attracted by ize Iyamu, help came to the people and drainage was constructed along with moats to control these erosion.if you want to counter these claims, I dare you to try. A good example is aduwawa community and eweka area in ikpoba-okha, Edo state. You can go and ask people in that areas how erosion was for them before world bank came to their rescue. Some almost abandoned their houses. Also, ize iyamu attracted both direct foreign and local investments to Edo state even as a secretary to the state government. This resulted in the industrial revolution of the state that gave birth to factories such as cassavita plant in uromi, fruit juice plant in Ehor amongst others. Again, I dare anyone from Edo state to counter these claims. Ize iyamu also midwife the starting and completion of iguosa 162 unit housing estate which today is providing low cost housing for the poor in Edo state. Since then till date, no governor in Edo state has ever built a housing estate for Edo people. As a recognition for ize iyamu hard work, then vice president Atiku Abubakar came to Edo state to commission these projects. I dare Atiku to deny this! On an individual level, pastor Osagie ize iyamu is a lawyer and a successful business man. He owns the prestigious I.O farms in Benin city which is a model farm for our generation. The farm which is more than 20 years old has employed more than 500 youths and more than 1000 indirectly. The facts are there if you wish to check. As a matter of fact, ize iyamu farm has the best livestock blueprints and if these blueprints was implemented 20 years ago, there would have not been fulani-farmers clashes in Edo and Nigeria as a whole today. I repeat, I dare anyone to challenge these facts. Now let talk of Obaseki. The Governor in 2016 promised Edo people 200 thousand jobs, gelegele sea port, Azura power station, but as we speak none of these promises has been meant. In fact power supply in Edo state has gotten worse since obaseki took power. The people of Ekpoma will not forget how they spent 3 months in darkness in 2017. As a matter of fact the power condition of the state went so bad that the governor had a spat with BEDC boss who he allegedly sent out of a meeting in government house! As we also speak, gelegele sea port and the 200 thousand jobs Obaseki promised are only a mirage. Edo youths has never been this jobless. I challenge the government of Godwin obaseki to published the names of persons employed through his 'Edo jobs' program in the last four years. In fact what we have on records is that he employed a patry number of persons into Edo civil services in 2018. How does employing more people into Edo civil service amount to job creation? To me, that is 'wage bill creation' not job creation. Civil service employment does not improve the revenue of a state but rather overburden the wage bill of the state. To create jobs you must industrialized, so I challenge obaseki government to show me any industry they build, revive or strengthened in the last four years and I promise I will join his camp with immediate effect. Edo people produce 30% rice consumed in this country, yet the state does not have a single state owned rice milling factory! The poor farmers has to mill rice with local drums and sunlight. What a shame. Obaseki only achievement that we know is the renovation of Edo civil service building, painting of agbado grammar school and construction of few substandard roads which as we speak has begin to pull off in less than one rainny season. Also, since obaseki claim to be a business man, I therefore challenge the governor to provide the names of his business in Edo state that has employed any Edo youth, at least I just mentioned ize iyamu farms that has been employing youth. Obaseki claim to be a business man but how has his business help the common Edo man? What kind of business is he into? Or is it a wake and see business? Obaseki followers has not been able to tell us his achievement in a whole 4 Years. They have not been able to show us any project started and completed by obaseki in four years, yet they are clamouring for another four years. What a shame! In fact, comparing obaseki's achievement to ize iyamu is like comparing a koisk and a mall. Ize iyamu is obviously the better candidate for Edo people. Pa. Nobody is talking about Human capacity development, Empowerment, Job-creation (he did an open recruitment into the civil service for the first time since 1999) Wealth creation (shoring up the revenue base through digitalized revenue collection and creation of business-friendly environment). No more agberoism. Even infrastructurally, he is doing well. No government touched the well-known Ekehuan road until Obaseki, and many more roads. The only issue is that he doesn't do media hype, he has never commissioned any constructed road (not even PZ where I am now). Nigerians love deceit, hence someone who construct and commission 1KM road with 500 Billion would be celebrated as working. Where is the 30B Oshiomole collected for the water storm project, today? That's to say even he, wasn't infallible. Yet they want Obaseki to be an angel. Anyway, Sept 19th is on the way. Edo people will make a statement.

I'm told my governor has magnificent infrastructural projects, human capital development and has turned the state around in just few years in office. this morning I saw a thread on fp on pictures of ebonyi state governor's infrastructural achievement and I was so impressed that I wanted to also create a page to showcase to the world what my amiable governor is also doing in edo but unfortunately I have no pics because I haven't visited edo since 2017, so my fellow edolites ,let's post pictures of obasekis developmental strides and show the beauty of edo courtesy obaseki to the world . here we go,please post pics of the projects in your area in edo or when you visited. Good governance is not always about infrastructural development, sometimes you must take into account the impact his policies has on the people.. I am not in Edo,but my family have spoken some well about how he revolutionize the educational sector. I think Lagos state commissioner of education and even Lagos state governor have have talk about how they plan to emulate the policy..Go to YouTube and watch the amazing things he did as regard Edo technical school.. Again education there is free,..Since he became Governor he has paid every pensioners that had not been paid about 24 months before he was elected.. Did I forget to tell you how he has successfully fought agbero to the extent that you can go about your business now in Benin without being harassed by Tony kabaka and his criminal gangs,even cultism has greatly reduced... I am also aware of the roads he did,though I don't have the pictures..Pls Google Edo state secateriate and see the massive buildings he erected there.my brother forget the noise from Oshio and his gangsters,Obaseki is a silent achiever.

The truth is that the Edo central has to wait for the next 16 years to hatch the dream of becoming governor of Edo state. The issue have nothing to do with money, it all go down on who control the party structure in state, that's why their problem started immediately after the state house of Assembly, federal House of Representative and senatorial primaries. Shaibu is the one pushing Obaseki to fight oshiomhole, his the spoiler, so that he can achieve his dreams. If Obaseki won the forthcoming election the next aspirant from Obaseki side is Shaibu. As it stands there is no single strong Esan man in Obaseki government that's worthy to become a governor in the next 4 years. Please don't tell me about Francis Okiye that cannot win election in Arue where he come. Edo central is the beautiful bride as you said but as it stands is a neutral ground, most of the dominant people that hold the APC within the Edo central are fully with Oshiomole, that's why you see some ordinary councillors refusing to cross to PDP with Obaseki. Am not telling you who will win Edo central for now because the election still have a long way to go but I can tell you without missing a word, Edo North where Philip Shaibu come from is already for APC. Nobody can win Oshiomole in Edo North, I mean excluding the federal might.
