RomanceRe: Dated For 3 Weeks And Then: She Quitted: Is It Normal? by jaybee3(m): 3:45pm On Jan 16, 2009
ifkunlethe:
I DATED A GIRL I TRULLY LUV FOR ALMOST THREE WEEKS. I CALLED HER TO COME AND COOK FOR ME ON SALLAH DAY. AFTER COOKING, SHE PASSED THE NIGHT WITH ME. MEANWHILE, WE RESIDE THE SAME STREET. AFTER DOING WHAT A MAN AND A WOMAN DO (THREE DAYS), SHE DECIDED TO SAY GOODBYE. IS THAT NORMAL?

THE REASON? WELL, SHE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS TOO SOON, TOO CLOSE. THAT IT HAS HAPPENED TO HER B4 AND SHE DID NOT LIKE IT.

NOW, I TRIED ALL I COULD TO BRING HER BACK, TELLING HER THAT I TRULLY LUV HER. BUT, SHE WOULDN'T LISTEN. ADVISE ME.
How can you possibly luv someone after just a mere 3 weeks dating? Gosh this luv word is damn 2 overused

Looks more like a pyramid scam and you could go to jail in some countries for this.

Let's assume computer costs : N80000
You + five others pay N20000 each = N120,000 and you then get you compu bringing in five more (unpaid) recruits
Recruit 1 - five others pay N20000 each = N100,000 and gets compu and brings in five more (unpaid) recruits
Recruit 2 - blah blah blah
Recruit 3 - blah blah blah
Recruit 4 - blah blah blah
Recruit 5- blah blah blah
So the chain continues indefinitely and i am sure your N20000 is not refundable either. You bring in 5 more MUGUS OR ELSE your money don pafuka.

Nice one. I should have thought of it myself and become as rich as Ponzi.
Spot on bro, ain't rocket science. Another pyramid scheme looming.
remember the double your money epidemic?

BusinessRe: NSE Market Downturn: How Have You Been Affected? by jaybee3(m): 7:18pm On Jan 12, 2009
wendyc:
investment is like a 50-50 chance, not guaranteed, in anyway, so it's something that everyone should be very aware of. it's all about diversifying ur portfolio, if you see that every bank is making profit and u decide to just go for that, then it's a pity whoever your agent is, did not do their job well, and should be fired because the first rule in investment is looking out for the client, what is in their best interest.
secondly when u actually do diverse ur portfolio (spread it all around) if oil is not doing well, gold is doing well and so in turn the money u lose from oil will not be as bad because d return from gold will upset it, so it's a pity that in Naija, anyone can just turn around and sell stocks to others just because, ,

as for the American market, it affects the whole world in case u don't know, because, dey are all some worth connected, and that is where u real investment or management company should have experts to actually do research and be liable if possible.
i know here in the States, u are liable to some extent what type of stocks you sell to your customer, and i tell u, it's that or u lose ur license.
Investment ain't no damn 50/50 chance. if you apply the same rules that the greats (warren buffet) have been applying for donkey years then being able to weather the storm (market downturn, financial meltdown) shouldn't be a big problemo.
I remember vividly when my friends in naij where going on about having close to 50% returns on shares bought and trying to lure me in. at the time i was very sceptical because;
1) I wasn't sure about the transparency of financial reports by naij companies
2) Financial markets don't work in an exponential pattern. their are bound to be dips and trots which i wasn't sure naij was ready for being that she is still an emerging market
3) The established markets where already slowing down and it would have been very risky to just jump into an unsustainable growth return promise by the great emerging market called naij
4) The share value where overpriced and you never by shares at peak. one should always look at the history, profit reports and outlook before buying shares from a potential company. Don't just jump because the price looks attractive

If you ask me, it's probably a good time to own buy the well established power house as the market is already close to bottom but only with a view of staying for the long run rather than looking for a quick 20% return.
Always pick and do your own analysis. Their are calculations that can be used to aid judgements.
DON'T be greedy as that's the only reason why you hear of people borrowing money against less assets to fund share dealings. Remember that our parents own shares from excess money playing about in those days and the value of this shares have grown significantly all because they were in it for the long run.
No quick way to making money unless you want to gamble in this current climate

temi777:
Hi everyone,
I always enjoy this website and I will like to add my own two cents to this very commendable debate.
I think life is what you make it. UK,US and the others are not heaven(s) on earth and they do not automatically make people rich, so if you are already rich , please don't come but lets be honest a very large majority of Nigerians are suffering, no health care, people die for the most simple of health reasons and life , while very social is not that good for these people. If you are on 7 million naira annually in Nigeria, please don't relocate overseas except for other reasons apart from financial. But having said that, a lot of people I know in UK are doing well.for example, someone I know is a cleaner(real life story) but yet have two proprties in UK and one in NIGERIA. She was an hairdresser in OWO before coming to UK and believe me she would never have attained that in Nigeria surely. my point is coming here(and US and others) gives you a fighting chance to make it if you are the oppressed but it does not promise to make you a king. Sorry. You can choose to live in Northampton, nice environment(comparable to V.I ) and pay as low as £400 for a large house, why do people equate London to all of UK. London is to UK what Lagos is to Nigeria: Expensive. Nigerians live there out of choice. There are very very very cheap places where your expenses will be less than £800 all inclusive including rent/mortgage, so I think we should understand but then I don't have to worry about saving so much for a lot of things living in the UK. lets face it, nothing stops me working and living here for 6-7 months in a year and living the rest in Nigeria.
all in alll, people should have a good plan before coming and please don't come as illegal.
a lot of Nigerian people are on £50000 and above here, so we can't ever say UK hasn't helped , only that we often start spending morre the more we earn, but take my word for it: It promises to help you, but it never promised to make you a king. and for those who want to have drivers and maids and so forth, well have you imagined if you were in their shoes? that is why Nigeria is so bad. here, you don't have to be soooo educated to have any resemblance of some life. a cleaner who knows what he's doing will still make it in UK and not die in agony like the very many naija housemaids, drivers and so on who are treated soooo bad
please don't mention Naija is good again. If you are lucky to be among the fortunate 5% with good life fine but what about the rest? I guess like true Nigerians they don't count, right?those 95% are better off in the western world, period and that is the fulcrum of my argument, the rest should stay back, every man for himself. I love Naija but its a mess at the moment and has been for a long time. Sorry
that's my 2 cents
As per the highlighted quote, it's not impossible but absolutely hard to accomplish based on a cleaner's wage/salary without dabbling one's hand into frafraudulenttivities. Fraud in the UK doesn't necessary have to be financial fraud but could be the odd playing the system (u know Nigerian families lying about how many kids they cater for then milking the tax payers, collecting numerous tax benefits, or even the sub letting council properties for their own gain)
