What if his reason for choosing simplistic over complexity is his phobia for technology?
What exactly would he need a smartphone for anyway when he has all sort of assistants to deal with anything at lightning speed |

sweettease: If I hear? Aside from the security men, their staffs especially the customer service ones are terrible. I didn't even do my BVN on time because of one rude skunk there that made it his duty to be rude to me after he collected my number when I opened the account and started disturbing me on WhatsApp for us to meet; meet for what now? Is that how they do it nowadays? I gave him a piece of my mind and now I'm his sworn enemy. His colleagues under customer care are even worse off, I see the way they treat customers. I'll so disgrace the next one that gives me an undeserved attitude. Hmmmm |

Teespice: never knew this bit. was thinking that BVN had to be done with one present.
what is a phishing email? heard of it but I don't know what it means. Yes you are right. The current procedure requires physical collection of biometric details but there are plans for them to introduce measures that would enable those in diaspora to take part in the necessary exercise needed to curb fraud in the banking industry Phishing => The process of trying to con unsuspecting customers by acting like legitimate companies. Basically, scammers create fake websites that mirrors exactly the ones they are trying to clone BUT hosted on different sites for the sole purpose of gathering confidential login details and/or credit card details so they can either clone your card or pose as you to withdraw all your hard earned cash |
Crime › Re: Scammers Trying To Take Advantage Of The BVN Directive by jaybee3(op): 5:58am On Jul 04, 2015 |
Teespice: when I did my BVN, I never did anything online. it is something one has to be physically present for.
na wa for scammers sha. It's quite possible for them to devise a technical workaround that will present opportunity to register online though biometric details will still have to be collected at some point. Simply put, they can issue temporary BVN's valid for a specified period until the user is physically able to present themselves for physical collection of their biometric details. However, no solution has been rolled out by banks/CBN as of yesterday. Besides, I don't bank with first bank so that's clearly a phishing email |
