Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Interview Not Successful? How To Deal With Rejection When Applying For A Job by jaybee3(m): 3:33pm On Jul 02, 2015 |
Simply ask them for feedback. You will have the perfect closure once you are able to understand their reason for the rejection
You should also actively improve on the areas identified by the interviewers so you can Ace the next interview
We all get to have some sort of rejection at some point in our employment journey
The key is to always learn then improve |

Kimeto: It's his passion and there's nothing wrong in wanting to pursue a degree in it especially if he feels it will help his career better. You were complaining about his age, he might as well get a degree to help him out. No one wants to employ an older person into the Mass Communication field especially if he has no degree. He should at least let them know where some of that time went to (in relation to the career). Okay ma'am You won |

Kimeto: Before you have the opportunity to prove yourself to be professional enough, a degree would really help matters. Not necessarily. A certificate that doesn't have to be a degree will allow you break through Mass comms or whatever ain't no specialist course so i'm failing to see how getting a degree would help him climb the career ladder |

Kimeto: Oh...it's definitely not common practice. But yeah I agree that the decision was a costly one but he probably already put the job challenges in mind and is just happy to be able to finally do what he wants.
Also, I feel like he should have stuck through the med school program and graduated before starting the Mass Comm program. There's nothing wrong with having two degrees and it's always good to have a backup. He probably doesn't need a mass comm degree to work in the media communication industry. I honestly don't understand why some Nigerians complain of not getting jobs after wasting years in Uni getting worthless degrees. |

Kimeto: I don't even understand what you mean by that but I went there and I just feel like it has to be Unilorin So he wasn't motivated/determined enough to have withdrawn at the last minute Your assertion suggests the case was not an isolated case meaning it's common practice which could have been as a direct result of the kind of people that attend the university Just trying to get my head around the ridiculous decision when it's pretty clear he will have far greater challenges getting a job on graduation with regards to his current age/employment requirements in Naij |
