greatnaija01:There are good pastors and there are the ones that are not very wonderful. The guys who made the video are not saying every pastor is bad. Maybe those who are, might watch this and perhaps repent. Secondly, if people in Nollywood are getting strange illnesses and such stuff while people who have starved a country through bad government and religion are walking around healthy, then we are fu-cked. Then again, we might as well stop talking about the wrongs in the society. |
Sly did it. Why not. |
THE FIRST OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR THE NIGERIAN FILM, MASK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOFIZ2tf_8s |
Oct 1 is better. HOAYS will be remade someday. |
Midnight in Paris. Notting Hill. Some classic Hollywood musicals. |
I just saw a post about the worst movies seen at the cinema. So let's talk about the best movies we've seen in the cinema here. Mine's easily Saving Mr. Banks. It was a glourious experience. |
I wasn't disappointed with the film. Not that it was good as stuff like Ties That Bind et al. Anyone who was disappointed must have probably thought AY was making Nigerian's entry for the Oscar best language foreign film. |
Big Bang Theory. The Jew's quite funny. |

Oscar is my best award ceremony. I have not always agreed with one or two of their winners but I realise sometimes that my sentiments might be playing a part. I've seen Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker and Halle Berry win for great performances. If there was politics, they wouldn't have won. Last year, the screenwriter of A Long Walk To Freedom said 12 Years A Slave took all the race 'sympathies'. And I felt it was a publicity stunt cuz would A Long Walk To Freedom been memorable if not that it's a Nelson Mandela story. I think blacks will always complain. They want Rooney Rule in the premiership now. Maybe slavery doesn't just leave black people easily. They whites have freed us physically, maybe it's time we freed ourselves mentally too. Two young black coaches in the lower divisions of English football said "pick me because I'm good not because I'm black". And our own Jose of Chelsea said "if you are good, you are good." Oscar is still the best. |
sholay2011:Fantastic film. |
sholay2011:I think our senses are wired differently. I've never been able to finish the first of both HP and LOTR. Yet I've seen Midnight in Paris about a lot. And I know friends who can't stand Midnight in Paris but can see HP and LOTR over and over again. |
sholay2011:If your mind no dey for the film, you fit force yourself watch am finish come dey mad. I tried watching but couldn't continue. Haven't tried again since then. |
Harmvirus:I expected someone was gonna mention that. But the movie was actually simple and straightforward. It's like X-Men or any of the other sci-fi/super hero film. I'll be more confused with HP or LOTR than Inception. |
Nine. |
A friend of mine did a research and found out that there was a popular film in the 70s or 80s that had a villain called 'The Boss'. I haven't done a thorough research to know how true it is. But I sorta believe that version. Then of course, a kid could have asked his dad who that guy was and the dad could have said actor. So, basically the kid thinks 'hero' is same as 'actor'. |
Briareos:The guy isn't 70 na. |
sholay2011:The guy's artistically high, looooooool. |
Briareos:Na next year. Them go redo Living in Bondage or Taboo come now send am. |
Some pictures...
|
chokl8candie:I think our mentality and ecomonic situation would hinder that a lot. But I'm still guessing there would be people like that. |
chokl8candie:Sam (Emma Watson's character) is my favourite character. Free spirits are everywhere. Just that they are quite few. Just that we don't get paid welfare in Naija so hustling keeps most free spirits occupied, loooooooool. But trust me, they are everywhere. |
chokl8candie:Absolutely fantastic film. Not the sorta film Nigerians love. But for those who understand such film, it's very lovely. The truck scene, absolutely touching. |
Are Nigerians not allowed to sign up to the PSN? |
It was very easy to understand. If you understand BODMAS and simultanous equation well, you would get the film. I also feel a lot of people who saw it at the cinema might have suffered the most. |
Her is actually the best film in that list by far. But are not the kinda films we are used to in Nigeria. I'll rate Her 7/10. |

Michelle55: How can one locate d venue? since sum peeps rily dont knw most of d places in town.Where will you be coming from? But if you know how to get to Owerri Club, then it's quite easy. There's an Okwu Uratta Junction there. Just enter a bike there and tell them you are going to Mbara New York. It's a popular place for film gathering in Owerri. You can also PM me if you want more info. |
