I got a sneak peek of Marshmallow running on Camon C8. It is beautiful and has a feature than stops the Android phone from consuming to much mobile data. You can select what app have access to your data. |
Let's hope the AC will hr working 6 months later. I remember how the buses on Festac to CMS route used to have AC. But not anymore. |
mrlaw93:The BRT bus isn't just for those with their own car. Do you have a driver? Do you have AC? Imagine how it's like when youbare tired and just coming from work. |
zoboking:4 Nigerians went home already? I have been missing this show. Please can you share with me a link where I can watch past episodes online. I was thinking the show was crap, but now, I think it has become more interesting and I'd like to catch up. Please help a brother. |
Card obligations expose banks to open-ended FX risks Nigerian banks have continued to reduce their customers’ international payment and ATM limits, with many reducing the limits to $5-15k annually (from $50k), $1k monthly and as low as $100 daily. This has been necessary because customers’ international transactions create open-ended FX exposure for the banks, as they have to source FX to settle with MasterCard/Visa. Given the CBN’s inability to sufficiently meet banks’ FX demand for these settlements and the losses the banks could face if a devaluation occurs while their positions remain unsettled, we think the logical thing to do is to scale down customers’ spending limits, with the risk being that, if FX scarcity persists, the Nigerian banks could shut down international debit card usage, as already announced by Diamond Bank and Standard Chartered (not covered). http://www.cnbcafrica.com/news/western-africa/2015/12/22/nigerian-banks-struggling-for-forex-liquidity/ |
At some point, I was wondering if it was real news or a joke. 870 ? Wow!This is no longer greed. It is likely more than that. He must have some brain malfunction as well. |
benigneOne:Use the change to buy her make-up? How about use the change to buy mobile Internet data? |
Since it is the holiday season and it is the season of love--not that I believe that we should gift people gifts only during December--I bought my wife A Samsung GALAXY S6 Edge Plus and bought myself the TECNO Phantom 5. Something surprising happened. While I would have preferred the Samsung GALAXY S6 Edge Plus, I went for the Phantom 5 instead--cos the front facing camera with flash and wide angle shot is super awesome and much better than those of the S6 Edge Plus. My wife is learning make up by watching some YouTube videos and taking a lot of selfies of late whenever she has made herself up. She took a photo of her made up face once using my Phantom 5. This must have been the reason she pulled this fast one on me. One morning, after she left for work, I heard her phone ringing in the house. I picked it up only to discover that the call was for me and that it was my SIM that is in her phone. While I was sleeping, she unlocked my phone with her finger (I registered her finger as one of the 5 fingers registered to my Phantom 5) and exchanged the SIM card. She left me with her Samsung GALAXY S6 Edge Plus and took my Phantom 5. Apparently, she's saying the TECNO Phantom 5 is a better phone than the Samsung GALAXY S6 Edge Plus. I am wondering what to do now--May be I should put the Samsung GALAXY S6 Edge up for sale and buy the Phantom 5 or just manage the S6 Edge. What would you do if it were you?' |
Elxandre:You have a point there. I have the phone as well. Let me know what you will like to know and I can share with you a customer, regular user review. I am not a pro though. A few things I have observed using the Phone so far: >> Camera is not the strength of the phone. Pictures it shoots are just fair, not good enough >> Phone calls are crystal clear, I do not have to press the phone to my ear to hear what I am saying. >> I do not engage in panic charging though I have two SIM on the phone and use mobile Internet. >> Phone doesn't hang on me yet and handles everything I throw at it perfectly--emails, text, Instagram, Twitter etc. But, >> The screen isn't great with my sweaty palms. I have to wipe my hands clean before typing on it. Coming from Samsung GALAXY A5 that has a better screen that allows my sweaty palms to type with easr. |
I am disturbed by this. You are wrong OP. She likes something about you or she wants to get something from you. Know this, no one gives for free--there is always something at stake. Mark my word. gamaliel121: |
I bet the phone is going to be very heavy. BustScam: |
tegak10:I have often told people, but they won't listen to me. Like in iPhones--when I was an iPhone fan--once you update to a newer OS, it affects general performance of the phone, most especially, the battery. I have a Camon C8 and I have received a couple of OS stability and improvement updates since I bought it. The last one fixed the WhatsApp notification when the app is running in the background. For this continuous support that I have been getting on my C8 and the superb front camera that performs in low light, I pick the TECNO Camon C8. |
Tallesty1:One thing you all are missing is, 1. these phones are not selling in Nigeria--you will have to take care of shipping cost and in some cases, custom charges 2. you do not enjoy any after sales service once you buy them--you are on your own 3. These brands you are mentioning are not tried and tested. What you should do is ship one of them, do a review and I will trust you more and probably buy one through you. But I will never ship a china phone into Nigeria myself and be on my own if there is a problem. I can through away my 30k or 50k. Else, I will buy the TECNO Camon C8 if I know I do not have 70k for the Phantom 5. |
I got updates on my TECNO Camon C8 already. But I hope it won't be asking for too much if I get Android M on my Camon C8 too. |
hooged:I think it is a superb phone. I was at the launch and I have played with the phone there and in the store, before getting one for myself. TECNO won't sell as much as they sell the cheaper TECNO phones, but they will sell a lot to people who love high range and want to stand out. I have bought one for myself and my SMILE 4G/LTE SIM works in the phone. It is a premium phone at its best and I am surprised that TECNO was able to pull this off and this makes me happy.

JanethEze:I think you should allow him to share what's in his mind. An OTA won't be bad. But I will rather be in an older OS that run a new OS that is filled with bugs. So much I know that is the reason some OEMs do not deliver OS updates to older devices. |
EMERITUS85:Timely updates are good--very good. I will be upset too if I get a phone at N59k, but I can't updated it. However, there is the peace of mind that comes from running an older OS on an older hardware. Most of the updated OS--like Lollipop--affects older device, makes them slower and sometimes makes the battery poorer. I have found that minor upgrades, like the one on Phantom Z is fine. I am still enjoying my Phantom Z with KitKat. A superb device to say the least. I am sorry you had to sell yours. |
And you spend your time online fawning over phones that are not available to you. Keep waiting, okay? markmira: |
And I was thinking all along that these guys can't be serious. Wow! And rose gold. When do we get this in Abuja? |
The phone is out in the market now. It is selling for N25,900. It's an affordable, but premium functional phone. goldenruby: |
snehgang:It will give problem cos it is budget phone? I don't understand you. I have had mine since May and it is still serving me well. |
I have been an iPhone user for long. I call myself an iPhone fan at some point. Then I realised that the phone is too costly for my linking, esp when I slam the screen on the floor when I was using the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 was my last iPhone though. I have been Android since then. With ease I can move documents and files from my phone to other phone and to my computer. From one Android phone to another, I got used to using Flash Share/Xenda app. The best thing after slice bread. I still love iPhones cos they are pretty. If you dash me, I will take. but I am not going to use my money to buy one for a long time. |
Tolung1:I don't think we should resort to name calling. What is Olodo in English Language? |
I have just spotted one cool feature of the Camon C8 somewhere on the Web while browsing through Twitter. I saw an instagram photo. The feature is called Picture in Picture. Sounds like a very cool feature: https://instagram.com/p/6PmKsZPWGH/?taken-by=jessefemi Lets one take a picture with the front and back camera at the same time with or without flash. Oshey! I am still intrigued that the front camera is coming with a flash.

The phone looks like the C5 that is being launched in Kenya. I just hope we can get it in the market pretty soon |
NO 1 Mistake people make, I think is, go to the interview, thinking that they are about to be done a favour by the employer to be. No way. I go with the perception that we are about to help each other--give me the job, I will work and you will gain and you will pay me. This helps me relax during interviews I have done in the past. |
I will list a few I know. Mostly Tecno. 1. BOOM J7 2. Tecno Y4, Y5, Y6 3. Tecno H6 4. WinPad 10 5. Tecno Droipad 8H 6. Tecno Droipad 7C 7. Huawei Media Pad T1. |
eleko1:For this to really count. You have to state specifically what makes the phone substandard. When last did you use a Tecno phone? Which Tecno phone did you use? Sometimes, I think people are just angry that Tecno makes phone that is affordable to all. I have the BOOM J7--the music phone--I have been using it since May 2015. It is serving me well. Before now. I had the Y4. I gave it to my younger brother and he is still enjoying it. |
MrOra:Please sell to me, I have been looking for an R7 to buy. I like the screen real estate. What colour is yours btw? |
? Wow!
