Chukwuka16: Oh for me it's purely business. Now the UK can set up free trade zones across the UK which I'm eagerly awaiting and building capital for. I'm going to be hitting my DIT and FCDO contacts and hiring a consultant in the new year to advise me on the best step.
The beauty of the break up is that the UK will need to build its market outside of the US, EU and China. This market is found in Africa and South America (and few across South East Asia) which in the next decade will emerge as the dominant markets (China is predicted to supercede The US economy by 2038).
To encourage export, the whole export is great campaign will be ramped up and foreign aid will be used as a carrot mainly for trade purposes. As an entrepreneur this is great for me as I can explore potential free trade agreements between both regions and potential tax incentives for both exporting and importing.
Also, the FTZ can offer me the opportunity to ship products from FTZ in Nigeria and rebrand here in the UK FTZ as UK products (after some considerable input) and re-export. This will help me beat existing bans on certain exports from Nigeria and avoid taxes.
Opportunities like this last presented themselves after the breakdown of the soviet regime. Do you have Twitter handle. seems you have plenty sense |

Aphrodite007: It’s very easy to sit on a fence and point out someone’s fault.
This isn’t the first land he has bought in the same state. If the king told my dad that he was the owner of the land, he would have told the lawyer the same thing. I don’t know the details of what transpired cos I was abroad then, but I’m sure my dad did his due diligence; the same way lots of people do due diligence when buying land but still get duped. Lol Oga stop arguing. Even if you are buying a land from your father, you are required to do your due diligence because situations change very quickly. Even if the king assures you that the land belongs to him you still need to go to the land registry and make findings. Trace the origin of the land and any contrary claims on it. After buying it you also register your purchase at the registry. Now your father has contacted a lawyer to sue the king. This could have been avoided if he had engaged a lawyer initially or atleast made the process easier for your father. The lawyer would have taken steps to make it difficult for another person to buy the land without losing their money. Now that money wey una no wan give lawyer una go give am x10. |

Driving my car with naija driving license
Insured with UK provisional license Well its not an offence to drive with an international license under 1year while you also have a british provisional license. But what qualities you to drive in that case is the international licence and that's what you should present if stopped by law enforcement. Cheers |

I'd download the app too. I havent bought a car yet but I plan to really soon. I don't totally understand the insurance and mot things yet. I'd prefer a small car with low insurance. |

Bourne007: Is he coming to your school ?
Your school chose to do that doesn't mean you should generalise hence the wrong info. Well I got a one year visa. Then the school is supposed to apply to the embassy for an additional 1year for the placement. It's not stated on the CAS. Quick question though, we were told if you want to benefit from the 12month placement, then you shouldn't have done any kind of job in the UK. As in no part time job. You shouldn't use the 20hr weekly ukvi won't extend your Visa. Anyone heard this before? I am in Birmingham |

LagosismyHome: Forget about the saying that you can work and train yourself on a student visa. Its a myth that is completely false.
In terms of priority school comes first and work comes after so in this case , you can only aim to work evening or weekend Wonderful |

Zoey, do you mean if you have a 2yr masters with placement starting this Sept you can benefit from the post study plan? How please? I have just started a masters but for my course you just get 1 year Visa, you need to apply for placement before the end of the 1 yr visa which the school takes care of with ukvi. |

hosey: Prospective UK students
It is wise to defer your admission and visa process to next year if you are applying for one year Masters program so that you can be eligible to apply for the two years post study work visa after your studies.
For two years Master, Undergraduate and PhD, you can study this year to benefit.
The UK education sector is elated that post-study work rights are set to be offered to international students for two years post-graduation, with students graduating in the 2020/21 academic year set to benefit from this new immigration rule. Do you mean If you are studying a 2year masters starting this Sept you might be able to benefit from the post study work rights ? |

Hi ALL. I got in today through Birmingham. Transitted in Doha. I could have sworn I was the only black guy on that flight. The line was so long before it got to my turn. Handed in my passport and letter from Embassy only. Questions asked: Why are you here Have you been to the UK before : No Have you been refused before: Yes Why?: I explained my previous refusal.
Officer asks me to wait, he wants to run some checks. I didn't see this happen to anyone else. There were a lot of students, mostly Chinese. I really wasn't bothered cos I know I did everything right but there was still a bit of anxiety. About 5mins later he returns, hands me my passport and says welcome to the UK. I didnt do any of the biometrics I saw others do. Perhaps cos I have the new Nigerian passport. |

justwise: This is just nonsense, I honestly wish the government use their power in weeping out crooks, corrupt and fraudulent Nigerians, the same Nigerians who will travel out and continue with their fraudulent behaviours.
How will you correct someone who persistently claimed to be right despite the evidence?
I have no doubt in my mind that a large number of Nigerians are decent law abiding individuals but we have few twisted minds and their defenders like yourself who have put us on the wrong path in history. Thank you |

LaaJiblik: I would have left you to wallow in your egoistic and outright ignorance but because this kind of warped posting by you is capable of misleading genuine T4 Visa applicants, I will respond to you. Look again at the bolded statement. Does it make any sense to you? So all the UKVI will do is call up the bank and say: Mr XYZ claimed he has an account with your bank. Is it true? And the bank says yes it’s true. That’s all. Really?
You are denying that you clearly wrote that what matters is trend, and not closing balance. Were you sleep-writing when you wrote that?
To my fellow honest and law abiding Nairalanders: Please do not be deceived. All these pipu talking nye-nye-nye ‘experience’ will not be there when your Student Tier-4 Visa is refused because of insufficient funds.
Ignore these agents of falsehood and follow the guidelines.
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/822984/T4_Migrant_Guidance_August_2019_.pdf This is the real problem with Nigerians. Someone makes a comment, albeit a wrong one. All you need to is make it clear that he is wrong and spell out the consequences. Instead you and the other one justwise are threatening to block him. You give someone a little power and they overuse/misuse it. We find these same symptoms in the police, government and even university staff. Yet you will be the first ones to complain when you feel victimized. No matter how long you have been here you obviously don't know it all. |
