According to these experts, a few years back, technicians were contented to work with their the skills they have acquired alone, but with recent changes in the economy are putting renewed importance on business management skills, many technicians are seeing the wisdom in combining both skills.

For technicians employed in corporate organisations as well, experts recommend that they acquire good managerial skills so as to rise to management positions after some years of dedicated service.

They should not stop only at perfecting their skills but they must make conscientious effort to know the business side. In the past people’s view about business is that since they have the skills, they can start using it to make money, but you find out that they were failing in business.”

As a budding entrepreneur, experts say your relationship with your customers is very important because it is important for them to feel comfortable with you and be contented with your work.

A business consultant, Mr. Caleb Makinde, says whenever an unsatisfactory service issue is raised by your clients, business owners should endeavour to find out the problem and try to solve it.

He adds that good customer service skills should be passed on to trainee technicians and other employees because if they overlook a query from a customer and delay response to it, they may lose the client.

Manage your time well

Most technical jobs require undivided attention of the person in charge, as such little time is left to relax.

As a result, experts note that time management skills are indispensable to technicians.

Makinde says, “Don’t take up all your time with task meant to be completed without giving room for break during the day. This can lead to exhaustion after a while, a situation that may cause depreciation in health.

“Prioritise your tasks, be balanced, avoid procrastination, delegate tasks, and you will find yourself making much better use of your time.”

In addition, the consultant says technicians should learn to prioritise their tasks in a way that they will have time so as to give room for other appointments

Be creative

According to experts, creativity makes most professionals outstanding even though they perform the same tasks as their colleagues.

They add that technicians, who are unable to render services that the market will appreciate, will not be able to do real business.

Makinde adds that when technicians are creative, they are able to grow and get the much desired promotion in their organisation.

As entrepreneurs, he says their creativity will make their work more desired than that of other people in the industry.

Be disciplined

Experts say self-discipline and motivation play key roles in time management. According to Makinde, special attention should be paid to procrastination, one of the deadliest enemies of good time management.

“People who suffer from procrastination wait until the last moment to do important things. Some even find it almost impossible to take the first step in any project. It can seriously affect work quality and aggravate personal stress. It may create feelings of panic and chaos,” he says.

Have you ever wondered what Google Search really knows about you? Well, now you can check, as Google has added a new feature that lets you view and download your entire search history.

Yep. Everything.

The feature, which was spotted by the unofficial Google Operating System Blog — though Venture Beat points out that the function was made available in January — gives you access to everything from what you searched for to the links you clicked on from those searches. It also shows you the addresses you’ve searched for.

I was even able to see the list of images I clicked on while searching for pictures of cats eating spaghetti. Now imagine what you’ve looked for. Oh, and clearing your browser history won’t delete this data.

But there’s no reason to panic, because in addition to being able to download your search history, you can clear it.
First, here’s how to download your history:

1. Navigate to Google’s Web and App Activity page.


2. Next, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.


3. Then select Download from the drop-down menu.


You’ll then receive a pop-up window warning you not to download your search history to a public computer, as it contains a large amount of sensitive information.

4. If you want to continue, click Create Archive.


Once your history is downloaded, you’ll receive a link in a few seconds that lets you view your data.

If you don’t want to download your data, and would rather get rid of it, you can do that as well. Of course, there are some reasons to let Google keep your search data. For one thing, it guarantees faster search results. It also ensures that Google Now has all of the latest relevant information about you. If you delete your data, your searches won’t be as tailored to your habits.
Still want to get rid of your search history? Here’s how:

Before we get started, it’s worth pointing out that if you want to keep your information hidden, you can use your browser’s privacy option, which keeps Google from saving your data — though it can still be seen by your service provider or employer.

Simply deleting you browser history won’t clear the data saved by Google, as you’re only deleting the information stored by your browser and not what’s on Google’s servers. To do that, you’ll have to:

1. Navigate to the Web and App Activity Page and click the gear icon in the top-right corner.


2. Select Remove Items and choose the beginning of time from the drop-down menu.


3.Click Remove and kiss your data goodbye.

President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), on Sunday said his administration would take a second look at the claim by a former Governor of the Central Bank, now Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II,that $20bn, that was supposed to be remitted by the NNPC to the federation account, could not be unaccounted.

Buhari said this while receiving a delegation of party supporters and newly elected officials on the platform of the All Progressives Congress from Adamawa State at his campaign office in Abuja.

The President-Elect, who spoke in the local Hausa language, expressed surprise that instead of probing the allegations by the former CBN governor, the authorities chose to fire him.

According to him, since Sanusi’s claim was documented, his administration will take a second look at the document when he
assumes power on May 29th.

Buhari said, “On the issue of corruption, I heard that some people have started returning money. I will not believe it until I go and see for myself.

“You all know what the Emir of Kano talked about when he was the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He said $20 billion dollars, not naira, $20 billion dollars, was unaccounted for; they said it was a lie.

Instead of investigating it, they sacked him. And God in his infinite mercy made him the Emir of Kano. In any case, that is what he wanted. And since this was documented, the new administration will take a look at it.

”This is against the background of a pronouncement by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has started refunding the unremitted $1.48bn into the federation account.
