I was doing a transaction a few days ago and after concluding the transaction, you know what happened? The Naira to Dollar exchange further plummeted within a few hours from 209 to 213.

My transaction was destroyed because the customer was not ready to bankroll that increase, and moreover anything could still happen.

If you know how many people are becoming impoverished because of the crisis in the finance sector you will understand what I mean.

This same crisis in the finance sector may force the FG to stop paying further tranches of this same Youwin program. It is time our Government declares a red alert in our finance sector because if they dont, all the people calling ourselves millionaires as a result of this Youwin program may still find ourselves in penury.

I will cast my vote based on my own careful analysis of the general policy of the incumbent and not based on what any other person thinks or the fact that I got some money from you or not.

I have a mind of my own and anybody that has a problem with that should deal with it.

The time has come for us to have a critical eye on our leaders no matter who is there. Even if the person I voted for gets to power I will still maintain my critical stance.

A leader is not going there to play, he is going there to do serious work, they are our servant but they keep behaving like we must praise them for every little work done, even after doing half work and pillaging our resources.

All the so-called listed acheivements listed by some people above are not acheivements if corruption and insurgency cannot be contained.

I can go on and on and on but I repeat, I chose to maintain a mind of my own because at the end of the day the only reasonable asset I may have may be my own mind.

I have used my first tranche to procure land for two years (the landlord insisted on two years payment). That done, I need detail information on how I can register trademark for my business, processes, costs, and duration before I get the certificate.

Did any one of you did any registration with the local government where your business is to be located? If yes, what registration is that?
Aside Nafdac and Trademark, what other registration is compulsory before I start production.

Ufeolorun, dizengoff would want you to plant tomato like Beefsteak or Roma that attract a high price. The price of this type of tomato cannot be less than 400/kg. So in a planting circle of about 180days, you are expected to get 7tons by 400 will give us like NGN 2m and above. Please note that the first harvest starts at about 85 to 90 days after planting. Quantity and quality of produce depends on your expertise. With greenhouse farming and market, it is achievable

1m for dizengoff Amiran kit maybe, another 300k for relevant running cost( workers),add another 300k if you don't have 2 plots so start up cost 1.6m. The kit promises. 7000kg of tomatoes all other things being equal (if you go for the nemo-neta package)
A basket of tomatoes in the market is, say 50kg -
7000/50 = 140 baskets. Assume a price lower than the prevailing market rate for competitive reason (so you can get a buyer quickly)

Let take 3k5 for a basket * 140 =490k first revenue

NB.
I assume the following;
7000kg would be the total from initial harvest but in real life, its likely to be the total over a multiple harvesting period

No loss atall from seed to harvest (unreal)


Lastly they would train you and leave you to it all probably after the first harvest.

The most important part of the polytunnel is the polythene and that should last about 2years depending on the quality hence you would have to buy another covering for your greenhouse

I have met some one that is making cool dough from green house in Nigeria. It takes within a year. One just need to put in some work

How can anyone realistically export based on 1 unit of the Dizengoff system. That does not seem like a realistic option either . Let us examine some figures for any specific crop you are suggesting. What would me more realistic would be to be located close to customers and sell directly to them e.g if you think about it 8x24 =1/3 of a plot so if so have land around Agege then growing tomatoes and selling directly by retail is actually a more productie use of that land than building property and housing tenants. That scenario is certainly worth analysing.
I do not disagree with you about the cost but a 3 year pay back period is not an unreasonable time the key parameter is what is the lifespan of the system. In business we have to be realistic and not sentimental. We analyse based on what things cost not what they should cost.

If we think of any business with a major capital outlay on a depreciating asset e.g Transport (Trucks buses etc) ,how many pay back before 3 years . The reaal issue is would there still be any juice in it after 3 years? My view would then be Perhaps a more permanent structure should be built. Here I would suggest something outrageous. Imagine in lagos you build a 3 bedroom flat with AC etc would it be more profitable to rent it out to humans or to grow tomatoes in it . This should be a question of analysis with facts and figures not sentiments

i was in vom jos and saw a lot of green houses there. mostly govt research facilties and the other belonging to wapco( producers of farmfresh yoguart) they have different type of tomatoes, a kilo sells at 400, they are big and firm

Though Dizengoff is ripping off l suggest whoever is setting up a greenhouse to make sure it is high yielding & crops that are expensive in the open market. Will try & upload short videos of young Kenyans growiog cucumber & capsicum in a greenhouse.
