I can relate hahahahahahahahahaha when i came in spring.....my friends said it is no longer cold. I left my hotel room on my polo shirt. On getting out like this, i rushed back inside with full speed go wear 7 clothes. I am not joking o it was 12 degrees then but still it felt so strange on my skin because you no say naija na temprate region. Hahahahah right now if i see 12 degrees lasan i will be so happy because we have been on -8 since last week now. The thing dey do persin for body like say your flesh wan tear ni o. No be small thing
charix:

Back in the day I'd open the window first thing in the morning and stick my arm out as a thermometer. Depending on how fast the cold sinks into my bare arm would determine the thickness of clothes I wear.
After months of doing this, I finally learned the ability to tell how much to wear simply by looking at temperature readings via the internet.

The education here is crazy i must tell you........You are most likely going to be lost in class the first semester. There assignments are standard, you will never find the answers on google. Even if you use text books, you will still need to do alot of reading to solve those questions. The grading nko......hahahahahaha for a graduate program here pass mark is 65 percent below that is an F, you fail a graduate course, you are expelled......Plenty plenty things plenty plenty nonsense Hahahahahahaha but still many have done it and many are still doing it and we will keep doing it. Thats why we are blacks, we dont crack!!!

Op if you go through this link you will see cases like your own even here in Nigeria

https://www.facebook.com/notes/federal-road-safety-corps-frsc-nigeria/verify-the-authenticity-of-your-new-drivers-licence/10152124093499965/
Where people had their license processed right inside FRSC office yet it is not authentic. It makes one doubt if anything would ever work in our country. Since you said you guys verified and it popped out invalid information, I will sincerely advise you not to go after that document. Because i believe they wont investigate right now because you have not claimed it or make a request. What raised a red flag is the fact that it is comming from Nigeria and also there are three licenses in one package as you said. If it were to be a matter of security concern or a criminal case trust me you will never receive a letter. You will see them knock on your door and you may be quizzed. Those dl are identity document and they do not joke with such here. All those law quoted isnt saying you have committed a crime. They are rather guiding against those document being used for fraudulent purpose. I will say this isnt a big issue and it should not affect any future application. It would have been a different case if you had same pictures or same name or same info on all those or if you were caught trying to hide those 3 in one. I would have advised you follow if those dl tracked on frsc website. Just forget about this and learn your lesson from it. You are not in Nigeria where anything goes and you should be careful of the people you roll with. Those guys are currently snoring now and you are here having slepless night. No friend for foreign land o!! Just you, your God and your studies

Just like when I first got to school in Norway long time ago, it was late autumn and already very cold, I slept in a cold room for two days before I figured out how to operate the room heater.

I did not bath for the first three days until a guy from the next room showed me how to operate the hot/cold water fixture. Really a shame that our pride will prevent us from asking for help, I will probably still be too embarrassed to ask for help even now.

And the one about the cab drivers? on my first day in Oslo the cab driver took me round a particular square three times until I told him I did not have any money, the scholarship board had directed me to take a cab from the Airport to their office. He stopped the cab, asked for the address again and sped off directly to the place

Programming / Any Idea On This Assignment? by Jengbetiele: 3:56pm On Sep 19, 2015
You are given that

z = (314; 159; 265; 358)10 = (100100100100101010110011111011001001110)2 :

(a) Is z exactly representable on a VAX-11 as a single precision floating
point number?

(b) Consider also the double precision case, were an additional 32 bits are
appended at the end of the single precision mantissa.

(c) What binary numbers are actually stored in both cases using round-ing.

The following example, of rounding a binary number, from say 3 binary
digits to 2 may be found useful:
0.000 ! 0.00
0.001 ! 0.01
0.010 ! 0.01
0.011 ! 0.10
0.100 ! 0.10
0.101 ! 0.11
0.110 ! 0.11
0.111 ! 1.00

There are some people all these developed countries cannot just afford to ignore...Upon all the nerds they have in first world countries, they still poach and recruit form developing countries..They pick Naija's best and give them mouth offering offers cos they don't even want them coming home...And as Nigeria doesn't appreciate or give room for improvement, who will look back?

You know i was actually discussing this with a friend here today.. One thing I have observed over time here is most canadians are very lazy, they dont wanna go to school. All they know is smoking, coking parties and whatever. They have a responsive government that takes care of there mess to a large extent. Canada truly needs people because they are densely populated despite being the second largest country in the world by landmass. As much as Canada wants people, they are highly selective. They dont just want every tom dick and harry. They need raw talent, high flyers, first among equals. And once they see that prospect going by how strong your application is, TRV becomes easier, schooling becomes easier, you go just dey chop grants and fundings up and down. They will even pay your flights and hotel bills for conferences in other countries. As a matter of fact, you may not pay a dime till you have your Phd and live reasonably well without having to take any other job except you are bored. Having invested so much in your talent, do you think they gonna let you leave just like that? It is impossible!! I am with you on this!!
Mama team12 Congrats

After teana4040's post of delay after medical, I decided to fly under the radar, hoping and praying this would help me dodge the bullet but alas...I got hit!

Status changed to medical passed at 12 noon yesterday, then got emails of message and update at about 3pm, only to log in to see correspondence...Application Refused! Purpose of visit, travel history, financials.

Even though I am a guy, I suddenly feel like a lady who has just been gilted by her lover cry So I guess the only thing left to say is...it was fun while it lasted.

That's it from me folks, I'll be taking some time off to recoup and to regroup. I hereby close the gate to all bad news. Every other person after me shall have positive testimonies to share, in Jesus Name!

Woww!!!! This is so unbelievable!! from medicals passed to refusal again....I heard the case of someone who got medical call and got refused for the same reasons as yours!!! It is well bro, regroup and refire and try ensure its not so close to the 'rush' period.

Education / Re: I Will Kill Myself On Wednesday by Jengbetiele: 3:24am On Jul 26, 2015
fellowbeing:
I will kill myself on Wednesday if am not able to sort this out. I'm tired of this life even though people around believe all is well with me. I am a 23 year old undergraduate of University of Ilorin. I am a spill over student due for graduation last year. I had 2 courses for first semester and 5 courses for second semester, including project. I really tried my best this year, so that I can graduate. The trauma, depression, studying with my juniors, O God, after stressing myself reading day and night, preparing hard and settling project issues, just to discover that I failed 2 courses in second semester. I will now splash, not again. I am pressing some buttons IF the courses can be waved. I discovered that I failed the two on friday after checking my results at the level adviser's office. How will I inform my parents? I don't have a choice than to just end this if nothing can be done before Wednesday evening. The pressure is just too much. I am the first born of my parent. They are expecting the good news not the splash news again, not after supporting me for a year.

Let me quickly share my story with you....the best sermon is one's personal experience. I left secondary school in 2004. By 2005, I got admitted to a state university in Ekiti State. After two years of studies in Ekiti state, I discovered the program i was doing was not accredited. To make the story worse, nearly all lecturers in the faculty of science passionately disliked the program. It was called SLT then. Consequently, they mark down our papers. Not only that, they called us all sorts of names like NFA, unfortunate students and the likes anyone who attended the university and did that course can attest to what i am saying. My dad happens to be a staff of the University, so i told him about the poor grades, everything i heard about the program, and the intensity of the lecturer's hatred for the program all to no avail. All he said was whenever students dont want to read, they come up with different flimsy excuses so i kept mute.

After five years of my life in that school, my dad was made one of the board members of the faculty so he saw the whole results since the inception of the program. He saw so may spill over students from year 2000, and the fact that the program has not been accredited. I was in 500 level(final year) then with alot of carry overs.....carry over is not a big deal in that program....people had 15. My father saw how bad it was and he immediately invited me to his office for a meeting. He blamed himself for not listening to me when i complained 3 years earlier and he said he would want me to transfer immediately. That was how i took my transcript and returned to 200level in another school entirely when i ought to graduate with maybe a third class or a pass.

I wasted 5years of my life in Ekiti as a result of this, i was so sad and depressed. Merely sitting with my younger brother's age mate turned my stomach in anger. Infact when i got to the new school, my own younger brother who i happened to be ahead of by 3years became my senior. The retrogression started affecting my grades such that attending classes became a burden. Along the line, i sat myself down and reasoned deeply about how my life has been. For crying out loud, I used to the best student in secondary school. I was only unfortunate to have attended the wrong program in Ekiti. Though i wasn't given any certificate despite the number of years spent but what about the life lessons i learnt?. I made a concrete decision to change my attitude towards my new classmates and I began to humble myself to a fault. Above all, i began to see my new school as the golden opportunity to start afresh again. My declining grades all of a sudden began to soar so high such that i had 5.0/5.0 in one of the semesters and i ended finishing top 5 out of the class of about 300.

Today, I am currently in Canada on a graduate program fully funded by a Canadian university. Up till now, I am yet to spend a dime of myself in Canada because the scholarship covered everything. Guess what?, I even got two scholarships from two different universities and just last week, I got another funding again. Yes just last week! What if i had committed suicide then? . Would i have seen the goodness almighty God has packaged in my future today? What i am saying in essence is you can fall as much as possible but whenever you fall and refuse to rise again is when you failed. The righteous shall fall seven times.....but they shall rise again.

Conclusively, whatever the case maybe, dust up yourself and try again. Do not give up so easily because winners never quit and quitters never win. I am sure very soon you gonna look back and smile. Every successful man or woman at some point had a share of that gloomy period when you feel you are all alone and the world is about comming down on you. But I am happy to announce to you that alot of people have tread this same path and today they have become success and point of reference in the society. Brother, it is never how far, but how well and tough time never lasts tough people do!!!!!!

It was put on hold at some point in the past, but I think it's up and running presently. Maybe, your departure period coincided with the temporary unavailability of the PTA/BTA service.

Someone could still verify though.

Hello,

I'll advise you get a PTA (Personal Travel Allowance) from Diamond bank or Fidelity bank (The 2 banks I know with the lowest exchange rate when I did mine 2 years back). The max you can get with this is $4,000USD which you can come to Canada with and convert back to CAD as soon as you open your account at any of the Canadian Financial institutions.

In addition, if you still more massive transfer, initiate the form A transfer before leaving with your bank (1st or Diamond bank is ideal in this case too) by telling your account officer about your intentions. When you get to Canada, open an account, send down your bank details back home and let one of your family members complete the transaction for you (reason for payment is usually tuition and /or upkeep). All that will be required is your bank details, admission letter, NYSC discharge cert, Degree cert (not too sure).

Lastly, since the placing of the annoying limit of $300/day on offshore withdrawal from ATM by CBN, this option has further being advisable for POS transaction (there is no charge as well as limit for POS transactions with your debit cards, master or visa).
I'll advise Diamond bank for offshore ATM transactions as well cos they have one of the lowest conversion rates and their charge is $240 per withdrawal.

Also note that visa card conversion rate is lower than mastercard irrespective of the financial institution.

N/B: While I was taking my courses during the fall session, this study about the different transactions was ongoing all thru as well. So, basically talking based on personal experience.
I wanted to do Pta then but my bank said CBN cancelled it.... early this year so i had to jejely leave my money in my Nigerian bank because those northerners were selling CAD 180 then. Still looking for a way to move the money though...do you know of any other way without having to loose so much!!
