Hello house

is it allowed to bring dried fish along(eja Shawa), If yes which of the bags is it advisable to put it....carry on or main luggage?

I plan to bring along egusi, maggi, pepper(ata gungun), cray fish (ede), garri, poundo yam, beans

Pls can anyone tell me what I might be leaving out

Thanks

Do you still need advise? Hehehehe It is allowed put it into transparent nylon. All food should be in your main luggage. Egusi is allowed, maggi chicken flavor not beef flavour if you bring beef flavour, or anything you bring that has beef in it they will seize it o.Also woods are not allowed, wood in the sense of agbo. However the officer said if the agbo is sprinkled with a little water or alcohol it will fly. Meat is not allowed. Also diary products are not allowed or anything that has milk pepper will fly, crayfish will fly, garri will fly, poundo will fly. However, Yam is not allowed i recently brought yam they siezed it cry cry cry. But the officer said next time i could peel the yam and ensure it looked fresh then it will fly

I understand your point very well. But if you do not know what an algorithm does coding will not be easy. And even if you find your way through you are likely going to write an expensive code with respect to storage and speed of execution. This is where having a good knowledge of algorithm in general does the magic.
Wallie:

Writing code is easy, which is why you have the phrase "code monkey." Writing code just means that you understand the syntax.

I'm not saying that an algorithm developer will be completely clueless when it comes to writing but most of their writing is done in Matlab or Mathematica because it's way easier to debug and see the results without having to worry about a compile error.

To answer your question, the engineers and the brainiacs develop the algorithm in the form of pseudocode and a "code monkey" translates it into whatever desired language. A typical code monkey will have a computer science background and they'd understand very little about the intricacies of the algorithm. For example, how many programmers understand this topic:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIMO

I'll give you more examples when I get on a desktop.

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Jengbetiele: 2:34pm On Apr 11, 2016
Lol to be honest with you an A grade here no be beans o. Because the grade get splited between so many assignments, midterms, class participation and then final exams. As a matter of fact depending on the professor, final exam may be weigh just 15 out of 100 percent. The implication is you have to be on your toes all through the semester. A grade isnt impossible though. A starts from 80-100, B starts from 65-75. For graduate programs the least you can have is a 65 percent fall below that and you are kicked out. It is not really easy but with hardwork and perseverance anything is possible. If you are comming for anything computer science related, that is another story entirely grin grin
kife:

Well said, overtime we have learnt of the crazy grading system. The idea of 70% practicals and 30% theory.
It simply means nursing ideas of working to raise fees is a no, no
But how is the course work then? Do u hv to go to Pluto and back to make an A? grin
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Jengbetiele: 12:30am On Apr 11, 2016
Well "situation in Canada" I would say is a broad subject lol. As regards the hustle, there is money as long as you are ready to work during breaks and holidays and then do some part time jobs to keep body and soul together when school is on. But i must tell you part time job and studies isnt easy as it sound being honest. Especially when you are still a newbie and you have to quickly switch to the demanding educational system here. smiley

kife:

Let's not dwell in the conventional admission issues.
What's the situation like in Canada?
How's the hustle spirit like? Moni dey Canny 4 students so?
Is the economy bad as some claim?

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Jengbetiele: 6:51pm On Apr 10, 2016
Well schools may be different in the way they treat applications, but a general overview of what happens when you apply is that your file goes to school of graduate studies first and what they do basically is to check if you meet up with the expected general requirement for admission to graduate school and they ensure your supporting document are up-to-date after which they verify the authenticity. If you do meet up then they forward your file to your proposed department for review by the departmental board chaired by the head of department and other professors. What the board assess majorly is your last two years, your statement of intent and every core course you have taken as an undergrad and your grades in those courses. For those of us in Computer science and it related field we all know all schools will teach you operating systems, computer architecture, Programming, Computer networking......etc These are the core courses been offered in every curriculum around the world. Na this kain courses they watch out for and your corresponding grades. Sometimes they check your experience too it all depends on the requirements of your course. If you pass here, then depending on either project or thesis route they forward your file to supervisors in the areas you specified while applying. If they can't get you a supervisor due to one reason or the other they keep your file open for awhile before they reject . If you choose project then they admit you. Remember it is like a competition between you and other students. They do not admit too much like our system in Nigeria. A department may admit just 30 students or less in a year self depending on the number of space available. So you may pass all the stages and fail during benchmark with other applicants too. On the issue of payment, colleges do mandate students to pay some part of their tuition to reserve there spot. I don't know if some universities does that too. The application fee is $100 for the most part and you pay this whenever you want to submit your application for processing. I hope this answers your questions. Goodluck wink
Bamz:

The Faculty of Graduate Studies reviews recommendations for admission from the department and it is their decision which is final. If you fulfill all requirements, you will get a formal letter of admission for use with Canadian Immigration.

In some cases like mine, you'll need to formally acknowledge the letter of admission via payment of a tuition deposit to get an official acceptance letter.

Boss Jengbetiele, I hope this is accurate smiley

tolumuntari, please clarify what the $100 is meant for. Most schools accept that fee prior/during the admission application.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Near Death Experience by Jengbetiele: 4:26pm On Mar 29, 2016

It is well.
I understand the feeling. In that situation, our inner eyes just opens to see that this material world is nothing. One cannot have such an experience and still hold on to grudges, quarrels, fights and other vanities. Indeed there is a life after this life.

You are absolutely right!
Jobs/Vacancies / My Near Death Experience by Jengbetiele: 4:16pm On Mar 28, 2016
MY NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE
This time last year, my life flashed in front of my eyes. It was the closest near death experience I’ve ever had. My folks will say if the death that ought to kill someone end up shaving your head, then one should have every reason to be grateful. I had an interview appointment with KPMG in Lagos, so I had to travel all the way. Unfortunately, I was involved in a road crash on the popular Lagos/Ibadan highway.

From the onset, I had this uneasy feeling because the bus made a loud sick creaky sound when it was started at the park. As a matter of fact, its rickety looks was baffling than usual. But waiting for the next bus wasn’t an option. The probability of missing my interview was 90 percent putting the steady traffic into deliberation. Or should I say I prioritized KPMG’s offer than my own life. A risk I will never take again.

Just about an hour into the journey, we were out of the city in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I could feel the bus forcefully pick up speed as we cruised down the pothole ridden highway. We were going pretty fast at about 100km per hour. The mere thought of the rigors I was going to go through in Lagos as the sun arose from its slumber made me exhausted from within. That informed my decision to get some sleep as I fell slowly into slumber.

I was just about dreaming about myself in 3pieces Italian suit repping KPMG and travelling all over at KPMG’s call, attending world class trainings and conferences beyond the shores of Nigeria, applying all the special graces, etiquettes and poise learnt from school of poise during business dinners and meeting tall beautiful and brilliant career ladies. As I imagined my radiantly glowing future with KPMG, I felt a smile on my gentle face.

Then all of a sudden I heard a very deafening bang from behind… dearest brethren the rear tire blew out (bursted) on motion and immediately the jostle for the steering began as one of the passenger seated by the driver was either competing or helping the driver to have that much needed life saving grip on the steering. Everyone started shouting Mohammed, Jesus, Ifa as the bus swerved left and right simultaneously on the road with death lurking at the corner. Babies were crying as mothers called out to their children.
That moment, my calmness superseded that of River Oni in Efon Alaaye Ekiti state. That innate fear of death we were all born with just vanished, and nothing really mattered any more. But the thought of how they are going to deliver my dead body to my family petrified me. I could visualize my brother or my sister already claiming my body in tears. I pitied the struggles of my parents but what do I do? I muttered to myself Mum, Dad, and Siblings….this is where it all ends. I love you so much. I wanted to reach for my pen to write down my own epitaph but I could not find my pen.

I began to wonder what becomes of all my mahogany tall dreams of the future I have always envisioned. So condolence registered will be opened? Just like that? I thought I was going to be another case of many that were born talented but die unknown. That moment I knew the whole lot that makes us human is just pure vanity. I had no choice than to close my eyes with the expectations of opening them in the afterlife.

The driver applied break and then bus tumbled off the road, rolled down by the side twice and fell into a mini cliff around shagamu. It was such a gory sight to behold. I thought I was going to die. The chilly breeze on my body was the best thing I’ve ever felt. I was so grateful that I wasn’t even injured at all. I was the first to get out alive unaided before people came to the rescue. Some people were carried off in Frsc truck designated as ambulance almost breathless as they fight against death unconsciously.

I realized two people were trapped inside the bus. In fact, I wanted to sit where they were seated, but I changed my seat twice by divine arrangement. I wasn’t certain if they made it out alive, because I didn’t stay long enough to find out. I left the scene and got picked up by a Good Samaritan that was heading towards my destination. It is a pity our government really do not value the life of her citizens. If they really do, every bus in our parks would have been monitored and regulated before every trip. In fact, the sight of some of them is enough reason for a life impoundment.

Nonetheless, this experience has taught me never to forsake myself at the expense of anything again. I should not have cared about getting late for the interview or even missing it. If I had died, KPMG will not pay me a kobo because I am not even an employee yet. I have learnt to appreciate the people around me the more.

To everyone reading this right now, please take a second to appreciate everything in your life. Tell your parents you love them. Call your best friends for hook up sometimes. Because you never know what can happen unpredictably. “May we not travel whenever the highway is hungry” like my folks would pray. I thank God for sparing my life and I still made it to the venue of interview that same day on time and passed. My friends said I should have gone back home immediately after the accident though.

“I do not believe that any man can ever be truly at peace in living out a homosexual orientation.”

“I think two male bodies are anatomically incompatible. The penis was not designed to be stuck up another man’s rectum….You can’t put the penis/vagina relationship and the penis/rectum on the same level.”

“I think the homosexual condition has certain limitations to it. I think that two men in a relationship have difficulty and two women would have difficulty where there is a certain compatibility between male and female.”
