I just remembered another question, did they ask for your bank statement at the airport or something to show your proof of funds?
Mackie1:
Landing Gist!
Started my whole journey 2021. In 2022 I was denied student visa, Feb 2023 my new student Visa got Approved & in May 2023 PR.

It's been a while I saw one here, so I felt to share mine.
Left Lagos on Friday. Travelled with Lufthansa Airlines.
I got to the airport by 9.30pm when my flight was for 12.40am I felt I had time only for me to be told checking is closed! shocked if not for the fact my mum was with me 'you know African mothers' I'd definitely not be checked in as they weren't gonna listen to nothing.
I had 2 baggage 25kg,24kg , an additional one I paid for 25kg. A carry on bag 8kg, a school bag 4kg all checked and tagged.
Our flight was then delayed extra due to whatever excuse they gave but we later took off almost 2am.

The flight to Frankfurt was smooth, our pilot didn't eat clouds unlike Nigerian local flights grin
They served us meal everyone around me went for 'chicken' I went for 'pasta' only to realise they got jollof rice shocked while I was given some white stuff with red oil looking stuff. Apparently it was vegetarian pasta. I don't even want to remember the food sef.

Frankfurt airport is huge!!! Very neat & orderly. The washrooms are very clean. I saw so many whites on at my connecting flight I felt like i was the only other black person until I saw a Nigerian family.
My flight left on time this time and we landed in Vancouver 24hrs after my first flight took off.

I went ahead to the self declaration portal like everyone else. I was just following what people were doing lol. After that I got my receipt and was directed to immigrations.
We all stood on a line. All new immigrants. When we got to the door the students were asked due introduction letter while I was asked for my COPR.

It was all fairly easy. No long talk, super nice people. They asked basic questions, a lady put me thru the things I'll do next, gave me leaflets & She collected my address for the PR card. I was directed to the border security. He collected my COPR, asked basic questions, asked me to sign and gave me a copy of the COPR. He was super helpful and nice.
Finally I picked up my luggage and headed for the exit of the airport. As I reached outside cold wipe me cheesy. 22° and I'm thinking it's cold lmao.. Can't wait for the winter.
My sibling picked me up and we went back to her place...

Beautiful buildings and roads everywhere, no littering, no loitering, fine people everywhere you turn to.
The Journey has been long, but I thank God I arrived here at long last smiley

Everyone's opinion & view differs.. But I'm enjoying Canada much more than I thought I would.

If you're in BC. Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Burnaby area definitely reach out won't be bad making new friends. Also if you have eligible single ladies grin send them my way too.

Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading.
I hope Canada favors you.

Few questions; did you book your flight before you got your copr, I mean after PPR? Or you waited till your passport was stamped?

Also, how long did it take for VFS to return your passport after submitting?

I just read somewhere that RROV can be very slow and take months even after all parameters are marked as completed. One said all his parameters were completed in May but just got PPR on 15th August. BTW, how did you know yours was RROC?
braine:
How long did your application at RROC take? All my application parameters have been completed over a month now, yet they are taking forever to finalize.

Guyssssss it's a PPR dropping oh.....AOR 14th April....ITA 29th march.

I have a question though, my wife changed the name on her passport post AOR, but the name on the PPR is still her maiden name, hope it doesn't matter? The ppr carries the passport number on the new passport though.

Hello everyone. I want to ask, those that sent their passports themselves to Egypt or any other country without using the service of VFS Abuja or Lagos, how long did it take for you to get back your stamped passport?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Jenykech: 8:21pm On Jul 30, 2023
My tracker updated to background check in progress 2 weeks back
Tim5press:
Wow. When last did you hear from them? What was your ADR? Mine was to explain sources of POF.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Jenykech: 2:52pm On Jul 28, 2023
Thank you. I think they have updated the form now because you have to use the latest version of adobe acrobat reader in order to be able to download the form and fill it. In the new form it also states that “by typing my name, I am electronically signing my application”. So I’m not sure if I still have to print and sign with a pen. I have attached some images to buttress my concern
GraciousWords:
Print and fill the form by hand OR fill online and print. Either way, you need to sign your signature by hand, scan and update in the placeholder. Go back to your application to get the exact data (education dates, address etc) you filled at AOR, details of how to do this on page 1 post 6.

Please has anyone here gotten an ADR for schedule A. (IMM 5669).
Where do I get the form and how do I fill it? With paper and pen? Or I can fill online with adobe fill & sign or similar apps?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Jenykech: 7:18pm On Jul 26, 2023
This is my case too, I am AOR March 19, they requested ADR June 1, I sent it June 6 and got AOR for ADR June 12th, no much update since then apart from background verification in progress. Sometimes I get super worried other times I just remain calm hoping and praying for the best. If you want, you can order GCMS notes to know exactly what stage they’re at. Personally, I have just decided to wait a bit more and I pray I get PPR pretty soon.
Tim5press:
Hello my people. I'm AOR April 19. On June 24 I received ADR POF to provide updated PoF of last 6 months and explain sources of POF(had several lump sum cos I used the account for business. On June 24 I submitted the documents to them but till now I've not heard from them. It's way over 32 days and my GCkey profile is showing we are reviewing additional document submitted.
Pls who has idea on next has I feel this is so unusual.

So you sent the passport yourself via DHL? You didn’t use VFS? Please can you let us know what the process was and how you packaged the passport
Beautenoire:
I sent it to kenya on the 7th, received at ircc on the 13th, counterfoil on the 14th. Its on the way back already
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Jenykech: 8:58pm On Jul 12, 2023
Looks like IRCC had been smiling on French speakers lately. So I’ll say you should learn French and write the exam if you can
SirBa:
Hello Everyone,

So I learnt about this express entry stuff around June last year and immediately swung into action. Applied for my transcript that same week but my school delayed the whole process but the ECA was finalized in February this year. I am an engineer with 8 years of work experience and my ECA was done using a masters degree. I did my IELTS exam last month and my score is L-8, R-7, W-7 and S-7.5. Currently my CRS score is 467. I was hopeful I'd max out my IELTS and if I had, my score would have been 476.

My concern is this, I'll be 31 by the end of October which means my CRS score will be reduced to 461 which will be very low considering the scores in the draws which has been in the 480s except I am lucky to be invited using the STEM category draws. I'd like recommendations on how best to increase my score.

I also had similar issue as I work remotely for a company in USA, I have never been to USA but I was also asked for PCC. I submitted a letter of explanation. Still waiting on my PPR sha, so I can’t say for sure if the LOE I wrote sufficed. BTW Benin Republic doesn’t give PCC if you were not born there as far as I know. See below
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/benin.html
Omotcs:
Good evening everyone,
Please I got my Masters degree from a university in Benin Republic but it was during covid and I didn't travel to Benin Republic, I did my program virtually from Nigeria. The issue is that part of the document I'm being asked to submit for my FSW application is police report for my time studying in Benin Republic. But I didn't travel there because my program was virtual due to covid.
I plan on explaining this in the letter I will be sending alongside my application. Has anyone experienced this? And please I would like your suggestions and input. Thank you.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Jenykech: 12:45am On Jun 09, 2023
Thank you, I later found the placeholder and submitted. I also sent them an email cos they said I should reply the email they sent me with the requested documents
GraciousWords:
Sign in to IRCC portal (MyCIC) through your GC key and navigate to your EE application......you should see the placeholder to update the ADR. Be sure to transmit after uploading.

Following this you can send by webform also (but webform is not a replacement for the placeholder).

It is a requirement
deejay102:
Bank reference letter is not a requirement. It is just trying to do too much. Your statements plus a very detailed letter of explanation for any questions that may arise from the VO around the statement is all you need. They will verify even if the CBN governor give you reference letter.

Hi guys. How does immigration officers determine you still have your complete POF in your account before issuing PPR. I want to touch my POF, like 200k out of it but I will replace it when my salary comes by beginning of next month. I submitted my application on 19th March. Is there a way for them to know I touched it? And will this stop them from issuing PPR?

Thank you

The result needed for a significant improvement in your CRS score is at least L,R, S,W - 8,8,7,7. So you need to have atleast an 8 in listening. You can use the online CRS score checker on the IRCC website to know what your new score is meant to be with your current IELTS result
Fenix:
Hello house,

Please I have a question. I took the IELTS again...LRSW- 8.5, 7, 7.5, 7. The first time I took the IELTS I got a 6.5 in Listening and 7.5 in the others. My understanding was an improved listening score should improve my CRS points but no change at all when I updated my scores on the application portal there was no change in my CRS score.

Please any advice?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Jenykech: 3:09am On Mar 19, 2023
Thank you oh. I’ll come to Canada before this year runs out and I’m certain that before a couple of years I’ll be earning high. I infact do not intend to do any menial job
Kenn55:
I'm in Canada but it seems our experiences are different. It seems you are battling with low paying jobs. I and people in my circle are doing high paying jobs. I have changed jobs 3 times in 4 years and each movement increased my pay considerably.
When I came to Canada newly, it was rough. I had to go back to school, pursue an in demand highly skilled career and after my first job, I acquired hard core experiences and boom! I became a hot cake. There is no week, I don't get contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for a job. I just keep telling them I'm not available for now until I'm ready to make another move.
Please don't use your situation to discourage people. Not everyone will do 50k job. There are many factors that would contribute to how things will work for each person so don't use one brush to paint everyone.
The reality is that some people will come and struggle, they may never get their dream job. But some will come and blossom. The only advice I give intending japarians is do your research very well. Have short and long term plans and pursue your goals strategically. If I continued in the same career path I was doing in Nigeria probably I'll be one of those people on this forum discouraging people from making a move.
The summary is if you do your homework well, have a nice plan, with time all man go dey alright.

On the IRCC website they mentioned the letter o. It should have the bank letter heading, your account number, your balance, when you opened account with the bank and it you have any outstanding debt or loan. It’s actually a POF requirement

Dont try this bro,Wes wont accept your transcript if it is not sent by the school sealed.Unn transcript only takes about 6-8weeks if you haven't done a transcript before,it means your result have not been digitized. But if you have had your result digitized your transcript will be sent in 24-48hours.I request for my transcript to be sent on the 18th (fri) to Wes..By Monday 21st they already shipped it...n it arrived Wes office canada just yesterday 25th..ie roughly 1week.
I paid about 36k total...25k for transcript and 11k for DHL courier.
Hi there, please have you gotten you final report from Wes? If yes, who was your contact point in UNN?

WES said they’ve sent my credentials back for UNN for verification, it’s about a month now and the person helping me process it says they still haven’t seen it. I had to write to WES and they said they’ve sent it to UNN via email. I don’t know what to do right now. Please who do I contact to help me verify ?

Thank you
