It doesn't change the fact that he clearly told his disciples that he will come during their life time. He even advised them on what to do as they wait for his return.

Mr. Science guy ...

I just discovered Amaka loves me , does it mean she started loving me that moment I found out that she was in love with me .

Laws of nature have always been present but had to be discovered and explained .

The nature of gravity has always been there but the laws of gravity were drawn from empirical observations of it

Hulop ni'ga hulop

Ever thought of energy as inherent in God's nature .

"Energy cannot be created or destroyed " - God has always been existing

"Everything is made up of Energy" - Omnipresence - a nature of God : Being everywhere at once

But wait Energy ≠ God but Energy ∈ God

My opinion in respect to our material universe

Look at that pic . The passage of that property/constituent to life
To add to your posts.

Dark energy which has baffled scientists and still remains unknown, was responsible for the rapid acceleration of the expansion of the universe.

So Could Dark energy be = God's power.

Heb 1:3-"He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power."

google the meaning of physical laws. who the hell do you think you're discussing with
A science geek.

Don't even venture into physical laws. Because eventually physical laws have been used to proof the existence of a God by scientists. Physical laws=laws of nature.

Check my previous thread: https://www.nairaland.com/2661330/scientist-declares-science-found-biblical

So could the laws of nature that created the physical be a spiritual force?

and how do you know matter is unintelligent?
the universe is not as unintelligent as you claim. it operates under laws that guide it. and with these laws, it produces the fascinating things we see today. stars exist because of gravity and electromagnetic forces.
they may seem like some being made them, but . . . not really.
besides, what you think is fascinating . . . really might not be. your senses evolved to see them as such.
I love that. It's the kind of scenario I gave Johny. How do we know what we consider imperfection is actually not perfect in the "mind" of the universe.

But then, we would be going into the concept of "self awareness" "choice" "will" "grief" "love" "sorrow" e.t.c. How intelligent is the universe in bringing about such concepts?
Christianity Etc › Re: The True Definition Of Athiesm by Jeromejnr(op): 6:31pm On Oct 16, 2015

not without facts. without proof. and standard of proof is highly subjective. scientific theories are not lies because they can be easily proven by recreating the conditions they describe. so don't bring them into this discussion at all.
everything contained in your science textbook can be proven in front of everybody that they are correct withing their confines. we know nothing can go faster than light. not because Einstein said it, but because it works out mathematically, and physically. the fastest thing in the world IS electromagnetic radiation.

now, i cannot prove there is no God. i also cannot prove there is. the proof of his existence is not falsifiable. so how do you expect me to believe you are saying the truth? there was a time when the whole world believed in Zeus. such people persecuted Socrates and the likes as you are persecuting me now. fast forward to 2015. who are the idiots now?
Am I infact persecuting you?

The same way you could prove the speed of light both using mathematics and Physical methods is the same way you could prove from the various complex designs in the universe that there had to be a designer behind it.

There are complex codes programmed in genes. If i showed you a computer program today and say all that coding came by chance how would you react?
Christianity Etc › Re: The True Definition Of Athiesm by Jeromejnr(op): 6:17pm On Oct 16, 2015
You know, It's actually more easier and intelligent to say that there was a designer to the universe than to say all this design came from an unintelligent matter.

it passed by? then how is he sure it's a lambo? he could very well be lying. you don't have to believe him just because he said it. people say all sorts of things all the time that they claim are real, but are not.

if someone cannot prove what he is claiming, then he is accepted to be lying until proof is provided.
imagine how your life would look like if you believed everything you heard. you would be a Muslim as well as a Buddhist as well as a satanist as well as a Taoist . . . and ufologist and conspiracy theorist and so on and so forth.
There's a redundancy in this message. We could go round and round.

As for your second paragraph, people are what they are based on experiences. But the thing is in all these experiences, what is the absolute truth. There has to be an absolute truth to what everyone experiences.

From your post, without facts anyone's notion would be considered lying. Which means most scientific theories are a lie unless they have been proven. Skeptics also would be considered lying for saying someone did not encounter the supernatural without proofs.

So the question is, out of all these experiences we all have on the earth, how do we know which one is the absolute truth?

Not really. If I really did intend on proving the fact that I saw a lambo, I would have taken a picture. You said you had an encounter with god, why is it so hard to share your story? Don't you feel sharing your story will help me see your point and maybe even convert me to your belief thereby saving me from the pit of hell your god prepared to deal with the people he created and loves who fail to love him back?
You mention talking a picture, which was not in my scenario. Supposing you hadn't, how would you approach the matter?

Scientific theories are open to criticism and if proven to be incorrect will be promptly addressed as such. As opposed to religion that proclaims fairy tales to be truth.

One quick question, even though I know you theists are not capable of giving direct answers ill still try, if Mary was able to conceive Jesus as a virgin, how was she able to give birth to him since the hymen would have still been intact?
For real? should that even be a medical wonder? Even medical professional never bothered to question the issue of the hymen.

Cm'on, you no there is no issue in that. You and I know men of old had different means in medical science.

But shall I also ask you a question. Since I believe you don't believe the bible to be the word of God.

@ bolded, you still don't get it do you? The fact they "believed" doesn't make their belief a fact. The fact that different primitive men from different cultures ALL had different views on the same issue only proves them wrong and eventually asserts that it is only a figment of their imagination. If you really respect them that much then why have you chosen just ONE of these beliefs as the true one. Why haven't you chosen to believe ALL the stories?

The truth is, no one really knows how the world began. Scientists and theists alike. Everyone is only assuming and giving different postulations on what could have actually happened. No one yet knows for sure and therefore it would be insane to conclude that just because you subscribe to a particular assumption it makes it right.
So what if I came to you and told you that God appeared to me and talked to me, what will you say? Because then it wouldn't be a postulation to me.

The Hebrews wrote the creation story that you were indoctrinated with and made to accept. If he didn't speak Hebrew then tell us what language and mechanism he used to speak light into existence.
Well, everything has a particular frequency it operates in, light has a particular frequency and so does sound vary in frequencies.

I expect since He is Omnipotent and He wanted something, He would speak in that particular frequency for it to be birthed. The language is unknown for now the same way among many scientists the cause of the Big Bang is unknown.

We don't follow God because of the mechanism He used in creating light, we follow Him because we have encountered Him.

U are even the worst. What's really blocking ur ears? I have read more than ten occasions in this thread where Johnny has clearly defined his position on scientific theories yet u keep on saying the same thing. I have never seen a dumb person like u in my life. Even my 5 years old niece cant be like this.
Pls go read the bible and dash ur ten percent income to a man who claims to be a man if God. That's the only thing ur dumb brain can understand.
You dare to quote me?

Don't even start with me. I thought you guys were intelligent not knowing it was all assumptions.

You read where he defined his position on scientific theories but yet he uses it to spite theists and call them deluded with no absolute proof to back his claims.

So you guys are now somehow running away from science and saying atheism has nothing to do with it. You need therapy, straightjacket and strong medication.

Then tried to used the same law to to support ur view that energy was eternal to avoid having to say wat most atheists say, namely "nothing created the universe "

Yet nw u say u don't know how the universe came into existence.
