otokx: We need an oil and gas lawyer or accountant to check our constitution and find out if all this royalty, third party and research entities plus NPDC are enabled by law. There appears to be a lot of leakage in the system with little to no monitoring and then we say Nigeria is a poor country which is a satanic lie.
If you are not satisfy with the explanation the NNPC has issued please you are free to embark on further research for better Clarification and to meet your doubt, it is clear the whole issue is all about lack of information flow and cooperation among agencies of government.
Cause for once i think NNPC have been able to come up with tangible reason to defend its actions and prove otherwise in the mines and eyes of Nigerians including my self.
^^^^ Borrowing from Oduoh's defence, he probably would ask:
Were the shares bought in his personal name?
Was the money lodged into his personal account?
Since when did it became wrong to help subordinates invest for their future?
Shouldn't ppl be congratulating him for the improved police force with their smarter new uniforms?
Oduoh did it and got away with it so why is he being discriminated - is it because he is not Igbo and a Christian?

Anyway, should anyone dare call for his sack let them be ready to witness big demonstrations at Eagle Square by placard carrying Hausa - Fulani youths, handsomely paid N4,000 per head, crying genocide and marginalization threatening to take their case to the International Court of Human Rights, for this gross violation of their own son.
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

PoliticsThe Sins Of Governor Lamido And His Sons by jerusalem101(op):
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is making frantic moves to charge two sons of the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido to court. Aminu and Mustapha Lamido were flown to Abuja in the early hours of Friday by the operatives of the commission after their arrest in Kano on Thursday.
There are strong indications that the anti-graft agency may charge the two brothers for fraud involving billions of naira belonging to the people of Jigawa State.
It was learnt that the EFCC traced about N10bn to the accounts of companies of which the governor and his two sons were alleged to be directors and signatories to the account. The alleged transactions took place between 2007 and now.
The commission has been holding the governor’s sons in relation with billions of naira belonging to the Jigawa State Government which were traced to their accounts of companies of which they and their father are said to be directors since Friday.
On Monday, the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that the commission was still grilling the suspects.
He also said that the commission was still in custody of the two brothers because operatives involved in the investigation were not yet through with them.
“They are still with us; they are with us because they are still being interrogated,” Uwujaren said.
Investigation however revealed that the commission was making painstaking efforts to ensure proper investigation and to charge the suspect to court if culpability was established against them.
A source at the commission, who confided in our correspondent because he was not authorized to speak on the issue, said that the commission would take the suspects to court as soon as they have evidence that could stand the test of the court.

PoliticsPDP Wakes Up Against Corruption by jerusalem101(op): 3:10pm On Oct 30, 2013
This is the first time the PDP is reacting to the scandal that has elicited public outcry. President Goodluck Jonathan had, last week, constituted a three-man probe panel to investigate the transaction.
The PDP had, in the wake of the Associated Airline crash, extolled Oduah as one of its high-performing ministers.
The PDP-dominated House of Representatives has also instituted an investigation into the matter.
Describing the scandal as a source of worry, PDP maintained that the minister, like others in the party, must face the law. Its zero tolerance for corruption, the party said, will not be compromised.
While expressing its desire not to cover up any act of corruption in the scandal, the party said Oduah and others involved should brace up to face the full course of the law like some members of the top leadership of the party or their relatives who faced corruption charges.
National publicity secretary of the PDP Chief Olisa Metuh said the position of the party on corruption is unambiguous. “The position of our great party on corruption is unambiguous and our zero tolerance for corrupt practices abounds in practical examples, because our founding fathers placed utmost premium on transparent and accountable government as a fulcrum for achieving a Nigeria of our dream.
“Our successive leaders since 1999 have resolutely stuck to this. It is common knowledge that, at one time or the other, some members of the top leadership of our party or their relatives faced charges of corruption and never was the law restrained from taking its full course.
“To us as a party, the accusations of corruption in the aviation ministry are a big worry. It is for this reason that the president and the leader of our party has set up a panel to investigate the matter while the National Assembly which we also lead has stepped in.
“We commend the president and the National Assembly for doing what is appropriate in the circumstance.
“It is a fundamental rule of due process and fairness that these investigations be allowed a full course so that those at the centre of the saga would be availed an opportunity to offer their own side and avoid a case of conviction before trial. We however wish to assure Nigerians that whoever is found culpable shall reap in full, the bitter consequences of corruption and disservice to our dear nation.”
The party however noted that if the probe proves their innocence, “the aviation officials should not be intimidated but remain focused in the outstanding transformation that Nigerians have witnessed in the sector”.
The PDP further decried the ethnic dimension the scandal was assuming, and cautioned against what it described as tribal lords and lynch mobs hindering the attainment of an objectivity in establishing the culpability of the public officers involved in the matter.
The party said “these public trials in which the accused stands no chance of defence is antithetical to democracy as it is capable of railroading appropriate investigation into an unjust conclusion.
We therefore wish the various ethnic lords, jingoists as well as lynch mobs who have found occupation in sensational, subjective and anti-national comments and protests to take their exit and allow the appropriate institutions of authority to dispassionately handle the matter.”

PoliticsAPC Chieftain And Family Paralyzes Lagos Economic Activity by jerusalem101(op): 5:11pm On Oct 29, 2013
The largest markets in Lagos State, Nigeria’s most vibrant economy, were scandalously shut down today by the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu family, sources say the unusual event is in honour of Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Bola Tinubu’s daughter, who was being installed as the new ‘Iyaloja General of Nigeria.’
The installation took place at the palace of the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Rilwan Akiolu 1, who was also celebrating his 70th birthday anniversary. The title is a joke, actually, a newspaper columnist told SaharaReporters, “because Nigeria does not offer Iyaloja tiles, whether Ordinary, Extraordinary or General. Nobody can paste a title on someone’s forehead in the name of Nigeria, and the Attorney-General ought to challenge it. Perhaps Lagos citizens now think their titles are meaningless if it simply says Lagos, Ikorodu or Isale Eko.”
In a report, PM News in Lagos said that markets throughout the Lagos metropolis, including Ayobo-Ipaja, Iyana-Ipaja, Abule-Egba, Dopemu, Ogba, Egbeda, Agege, Balogun, Oke Arin, Oyingbo, Oshodi, Mushin and Ikotun were all deserted. This meant that the Lagos economy lost millions, perhaps billions of Naira in trade transactions today alone.
This development reflects the abuse and arbitrary use of power that Bola Tinubu is routinely identified. The APC leader arbitrarily imposed his daughter as “Iyaloja of Lagos” after his mother Abibatu Mogaji died last June. SaharaReporters’ investigations today did not reveal that any of the big businesses of any of the Tinubus to be closed for the event.

PoliticsBASA: Airlines, Experts Give Kudos To FG by jerusalem101(op): 2:16pm On Oct 28, 2013
AIRLINES and experts have commended the Federal Government for signing of Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) with Israel, saying that this would reduce the cost of travelling to the Holy Land on pilgrimage and encourge indigenous airlines to operate on the lucrative route.
The country’s major carrier, Arik Air, said it would be willing to operate on the route if given the nod. It added that it has passed the security audit by the Israeli authorities. This means it could fly into the Holy Land when allowed to do so.
Also, MedView Airline, said it would be willing to operate into the country.
Chief Executive Officer, BelujaneKonsult,Chris Aligbe, said with the agreement, it would become easier to travel to Israel because the route would more open, unlike in the past when airlines from Nigeria would have to make special requests before being allowed to land in Israel.
He said with the opening of the route between the two countries, airlines may be designated to operate the route and this would make the fare to the Holy Land cheaper. He also pilgrims could travel to Israel anytime, unlike when the Christian community in Nigeria plans their trips only at certain periods of the year.
At the diplomatic level, Aligbe, a former Corporate Affairs Manager of the defunct Nigeria Airways, said the deal was an indication that there is an improvement in the relations between both countries. “The BASA agreement between Nigeria and Israel showed that Israel is beginning to have more confidence in Nigeria, and there are a lot of bridge building between the two countries, which was not so in the past,” Aligbe said.
Former President of Cabin Crew Association of Nigeria, Olu Fidel Ohunayo, gave kudos to the Federal Government for facilitating the deal. He described it as good, noting that it would lead to cheaper fares to Israel, adding that a scheduled and direct flight from Nigeria would be more convenient for travellers.
He said the government should designate the airlines to the route, because Israeli authorities may not put a flight service to Nigeria, because the country does not like flying to African destinations.
He cautioned that delay would be against the business opportunities offered by the agreement.

PoliticsOduah Sign Nigeria/Israel BASA Deal by jerusalem101(op): 5:49pm On Oct 24, 2013
The Aviation Minister on behalf of Nigeria is to sign Bilateral Air Service Agreement, BASA, with the State of Israel. This is the first ever air service agreement between the two countries. Previous attempts to sign BASA in 2005 and 2012 were unsuccessful.
The agreement is expected to be signed this week during President Jonathan’s Pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
According to Joe Obi, Special Assistant, Media, to the Aviation Minister, “the agreement is a culmination of months of rigorous negotiations between the two countries,The landmark agreement comes as a clear validation of the nation’s high safety and security ratings by international aviation bodies, especially the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO, and improvement in the infrastructure of the aviation sector in the last two years thanks to the embattled Aviation Minister initiative.
The agreement will pave way for direct flights between both territories on the principle of reciprocity by designated airlines of both countries.
Before now, Nigerians traveling to Israel, including Christian pilgrims, have had to endure long-winding stop-overs in neighbouring countries before being finally airlifted to the Holy Land. Meanwhile, under the terms of the agreement, Nigeria and Israel will enjoy equal rights and privileges, as against past BASAs that were heavily skewed against Nigerian airlines. This is just one of the success of the Aviation Minister in the person of Princess Oduah....

Politics12 Points On How To Identify An Apc Stooge by jerusalem101(op): 8:25am On Sep 12, 2013
1. He/she defines the word “PROGRESSIVE” as all those against Mr President.

2. All factional PDP members are progressives temporally and will hold such titles until their return to the true PDP.

3. He/she is quick to remind you that Mr. President agreed or signed a single tenure agreement. Parties to this agreement are usually not mentioned except Mr. President.

4. He/she tells you Mr. President’s achievements are associated with past administrations. Like all the roads and airports upgrades were initiatives of Yaradua and Obasanjo’s administrations.

5. He/she will defend anyone that speaks against the President, be it a criminal.

6. His/her comments are always a distraction from the main update of discussion. Their major objective is to divert attention of all updates to ‘corruption in Nigeria’ their favorite topic, and will never mention a corrupt member of the APC or other persons associated with the opposition.

7. Their comments are incoherent to previous comments of theirs as they are quick to switch stands depending on the update of discussions at the time.

8. He/she reminds you that only the Ijaws are in support of Mr. President’s administration even when arguing with his/her own kinsman.

9. Any of his/her kinsman that is not Ijaw that supports Mr. President is paid to do so. While the stooges are patriotic.

10. He/she on one hand will say Mr.President is a weak President and in another hand that he is a dictator….

11. He/she will claim the President is not fighting corruption but will claim any Nigerian that is prosecuted is witch hunted because of fall out of favour with Mr. President.

12. He/she cannot make developmental reference to compare with the APC ruled states at any given time because in truth, they have none that is favorable.
PoliticsAPC And Their Desperate Move For Power..... by jerusalem101(op): 8:07am On Sep 12, 2013
These APC people and their stooges are just a set of human beings that will not cease to amaze one. They are by all means trying to unseat the President and will not stop at anything to do so. For now, they are ready to parley with the impersonating criminals call PDP Faction. They have turn in their entire weight to support Atiku and the seven governors since their strategic break away..

They claim they are progressives as long as they are not in the Old PDP, the illegal new PDP members are also progressive, What a shame. Even Atiku is a Progressive as long as he is against Mr. President. Obasanjo I saw today is also considered a progressive and was asked to make peace with Atiku so as to forge a force to work together. Are these people clowns?

Because of these their ambition, they are now comfortable to peddle all manner of falsehood they can just to discredit the administration. I even wonder which of them will be trusted to replace the President even if given the opportunity in a mock situation, because am sure they will not stand down for Buhari or their ceremonial baton carrier Ribadu. Or will Atiku be considered? We are awaiting that drama.

They are now claiming that the airports, rails and all the roads constructed as well as the booming agricultural strides were all President Yaradua’s projects. I now understood that these guys are not just comedians, but empty brains. Just like their masters, it is clear that they have never been articulate in anything they say or do. But the truth is that they are all power thirsty fellows with little or not interest of Nigeria/Nigerians at heart.
We are all waiting to see what unfold as the days goes by.........
Foreign Affairs8yr Old Yemeni Childbride Dies Of Internal Injuries After Sex by jerusalem101(op): 2:09pm On Sep 09, 2013
An eight-year-old child bride has died in Yemen of internal bleeding sustained during her wedding night after being forced to marry a man five times her age, activists have claimed.
The girl, identified only as Rawan, died in the tribal area of Hardh in northwestern Yemen, which borders Saudi Arabia. Activists are now calling for the groom, who is believed to be around 40 years old, and her family to be arrested so they can face justice in the courts.
They say arrests would help put a stop to the practice of marrying very young girls to older men in the impoverished region.
Angry Man, a blogger, posted that the man was 'an animal who deserved to be punished severely for his crime'.
'All those who supported such a crime should also be punished,' he added.
Another blogger, called Omar, wrote: 'Rawan’s family members are not humans. They do not deserve to have children.'
But another blogger, called 'Sad', appeared more sympathetic to the custom. He wrote: 'Her family and her groom could have waited for some time before having this marriage,' Sad said. 'It was not fair at all and the marriage should not have happened even if some tribes believe that it is a good custom.'
The practice of marrying young girls is widespread in Yemen and has attracted the attention of international rights groups seeking to pressure the government to outlaw child marriages.
Yemen's gripping poverty plays a role in hindering efforts to stamp out the practice, as poor families find themselves unable to say no to 'bride-prices' that can be hundreds of dollars for their daughters.
More than a quarter of Yemen's females marry before age 15, according to a report in 2010 by the Social Affairs Ministry.
Tribal custom also plays a role, including the belief that a young bride can be shaped into an obedient wife, bear more children and be kept away from temptation.
In September 2010, a 12-year-old Yemeni child-bride died after struggling for three days in labour to give birth, a local human rights organisation said.
Yemen once set 15 as the minimum age for marriage, but parliament annulled that law in the 1990s, saying parents should decide when a daughter marries

PoliticsThe Man That Looted Our Country by jerusalem101(op): 5:20pm On Sep 04, 2013
Man who is a desperate, determined and dogged man with his footprints in all the wrong places, even in the United States of America where he has been funneling ill-gotten and stolen funds in the tens of millions of dollars largely through wire transfers. This Man should be dreaded by every Nigerians, he was involved in Malabu oil deal that rock the country, after failure to sell NITEL to himself he decided to use his office then to impose pentasope management contract, a group that squandered and kill Nitel.
The man is loaded with deals and corruption. As a Nigerian Customs Service officer, he left behind an unenviable record, one he wishes will go away, but rather has followed him and haunted him. He is said to worth over $2 billion with most of the money hidden away in the Cayman Island, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates where one of his wife is now located. Now opening another bank account becomes difficult to open new bank accounts because of his excessive loot. The Man was also placed by the United States government on the list of Specially Designated Nationals (The OFAC SDN), a list made up of corrupt politicians, terrorist financiers, mafia lords and similar miscreants around the world.
The Man sources of funds are dubious and crooked. His hands are far from clean and he has absolutely nothing to offer the Nigerian people beside taking another shot at the national treasury and looting it.The only reasonable education Atiku earned was a diploma in law from Ahmadu Bello University! He rose to the rank of Deputy Director of Customs largely on the back of his Northern heritage and background which is indicative of the fact that it is not just corruption that is at the heart of the Nigerian problem and poor leadership, poor education or the lack of it has also been a major factor.
Over a period of eight years his associate and wife have opened various accounts at different banks in Maryland for the purpose of receiving and helping to launder funds. The accounts opened included several personal accounts at Citibank, Chevy Chase Bank, Wachovia Bank, Eagle Bank, and Suntrust Bank, credit card accounts, brokerage accounts (with Citibanks's Smith Barney affiliate), home equity account, Gede Foundation accounts, AUN (ABTI American University in Nigeria) account, and safe deposit boxes. The three (3) Siemens wire transfers were paid into one of those account #52096374 on 4/12/2001 ($450,703.79), 10/01/2001 ($461,440.92) and on 1/28/2002 ($860,500), for a total of $1,772,644.71. Additional $2 million kickback payments were also confirmed to have been made to this man over a three year period from 2000 to 2003. while several other wire transfers to associate account #52096374 at Citibank from LetsGo accounts at Wegelin & Co and Banca Del Gottardo between 2003 and 2006 came to a total of $7,424,620. From Guernsey Trust Company account at Wegelin & Co was a total of $3,049,940 between 2006 and 2007. Additional wire transfers from LetsGo Ltd to another of his associate account #1209739556 between 2005 and 2007 came to $5,550,000. The wire transfers were endless and kept flowing for years while he was Vice President of Nigeria. The receiver meanwhile remained jobless and a student and was the receiver of treasures and stolen funds, but the banks caught up with them and one by one the banks closed the accounts. The wife was the robust pipe and willing tool, a messenger sent to the United States of America primarily to open accounts, receive funds, reroute funds, transfer funds and recycle funds for various personal and family needs of her husband. Though, she is still well taken of; her home a $2 million house in the choice area of Potomac, Washington, D.C., It was clear the main purpose of the over thirty (30) accounts the Man opened was to receive fraudulent payments and to launder suspect funds.
Such a Man cannot rule our nation Nigeria cause the only thing he can offer is financial doom, every discerning Nigerians should careful of this Man. He is no other person than Atiku Abubakar..
PoliticsWho Is Prof Ben Nwabueze To Condemn GEJ by jerusalem101(op): 12:53pm On Sep 04, 2013
Why should an old pot call a kettle black? who is Professor Ben Nwabueze to condemn the present administration? he should be ashamed for being a part of the team that drafted the 1979 constitution which metamorphosed into the 1999 constitution. The constitution which has been faulted by many law experts and which is being reviewed by a Joint Committee of the National Assembly was unfortunately branded as a legitimate document by Prof. Nwabueze in his bid to defending the immediate past president Olusegun Obasanjo's decision to head the Ministry of Petroleum during his tenure. In his (Nwabueze) words "Obasanjo did not violate any section of the constitution by appointing himself the substantive Minister of Petroleum during his tenure as the president" trying to force wrongdoing into the throat of sound minded Nigerians.

A man who was part of the drafting of a failed constitution does not have the temerity to correct a notion as a result of the interpretation given to the section of the constitution which the House of Representatives cited to buttress its argument.Though, Prof. Nwabueze is a constitutional lawyer and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), he is not in a position to tell Nigerians what the true constitutional position is in this matter owing to his (Nwabueze) involvement in the drafting of a constitution that suffered many problems in the Second Republic and which was adopted as the constitution of the current republic on May 29, 1999.

The constitution which is suppose to be the basic instrument of government has provided the basis for nothing but political instability, poor economic growth and social progress. It was neither simple nor flexible and hence, weak. Furthermore, the constitution does not serve the needs of over 140 million Nigerians. This shows that the 1999 constitution is illegitimate and its amendment by both the lower and the upper houses was long overdue.

A former education minister that did nothing to improve the standard of public schools in the country but rather empower private school at the detriment of the poor masses, what is more evil in nature than that? denying the poor liberty, cause education is liberty. the so-called prof should come and tell Nigerians what and what he did to better the lives of common Nigerians when he was a minister. prof should please learn to deal with his past evil deeds before condemning another administration.

With the recent happening around the All Progressive Congress (APC), not discarding the lingering internal crisis that have been rocking the new party even before it registration, Also the recent tweet on Mallam Nasir El-rufai page on twitter saying that Gen. Buhari(rtd) is pulling out of APC due to some mischief by ACN led APC members and the recent statement credited to the National Chairman of the APC, assuring President Goodluck Jonathan that the door of the party is open to him as well as urging Pres. Jonathan to abandon the crisis-ridden Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Such statement coming immediately after the inaugural meeting of the Interim National Executive committee of the party in Abuja speaks more even to the ears of the dead, meaning there is more to the sudden indirect invitation than the lay man in the street can tell.
It point down to the fact that 2015 has a lot of surprises to deliver to Nigerians than expected, Pres.GEJ as a consensus candidate hmmm,,,Tinubu is on the move again to deceive Gen.Buhari just like he did to former vice president in the person of Atiku Abubakar...we are waiting patiently with our fingers cross to see how things will unfold itself at the end..

PoliticsWhy Blame GEJ For Rivers Crisis? by jerusalem101(op): 3:38pm On Jul 15, 2013
It is no longer news that every sound and unsound minds point accusing fingers to GEJ over the present political rift in River state. But my question is who can substantiate the fact that GEJ is behind it,it is no longer news that Nigerian politics according to our politicians isn't just a game but a "dirty one" for that matter.Gov. Ameachi, himself knows where and who his real enemy is, despite his many political Sins. His actions and inaction always threatening the interest of the Powers that be,politically.
The River state issue is between two Ikwerre Sons who now sees themselves as threat to each other politically,in the persons of Gov. Ameachi and his former his former chief of staff, Hon. Nike the present minister of Education whose selfish political interest has been the source of this unfortunate incidence were the masses are the ones suffering. The show of shame by the pro Ameachi and pro Nike lawmakers and the unprofessional actions of the Police commissioner, who has become politically minded for whatever reason best known to him has given birth to all sort of allegation against GEJ who already has a lot on his head than that.
The silence of GEJ in this issue which has fueled a lot of unnecessary accusation and counter accusation should not be the Main issue of the day,as many of the questions should go to the IGP and the PDP national leadership not GEJ. The IGP should be the one to answer why the officers of his organization should be at the center of the whole saga and the PDP national Chairman should tell Nigerians why his administer cannot restore peace and sanity to his party, but to the point that party issue has become a national issue? as that also bring to fore the political relevant of the PDP national chairman.
So blame on GEJ is far out of place as both party cannot bring to daylight evident of GEJ involvement aside from the fact that PEJ went to Rivers state, her home town and the overzealous River state police chief decided cross his boundary for selfish purpose and Hon. Minister of Education taking advantage of the present vacuum in GEJ/AMEACHI's relationship to further his interest. if anyone should be blame is the Two sons of IKwerre whose Huge appetize for power stands against the interest of the electorates hereby making a caricature of our growing democracy.
