Willie2015: - Jethro2 is right, u need min of 3-5 years. - U don,t become an expert overnite even with a holistic blue print and action plan. - Agric biz involves having a biz plan, training, perfection of production art, finding the right markets for product & etc. -The above process takes commitment, passion, dedication and time to be successful. - It takes an average of 3 yrs to break even in a farming enterprise and more difficult to b/even when u consider the hostile Nigerian biz environment. Tomato Jos is a classic example. God bless you bountifully We will keep saying it and hopefully some smart ones will not fall victim |

ikhileomotayo: Hi Guys,
I know Agriculture is the way to go but I lack business skills. I have the capital and will need advise from successful Agricultural entrepreneurs on possible agric investments. Thanks The most important thing that you need to get is the agribusiness skill to survive the terrain. There is no amount of money you have that will be enough if you don't acquire some knowledge and skills before attempting agribusiness. Agribusiness without the necessary knowledge is like intentionally pouring your hard earned money down the drain. Don't get carried away by the so called agribusiness consultants that lingers around. Most live and survive on the consultation money and not what they make from practising agribusiness. Keep your money and go get the knowledge, the skill, know the terrain, learn from someone that us practising and then you can decide what to go for |

Agriculture › Re: Please Help: What Do You Suggest That I Plant On Newly Secured 4 Plots Of Land? by jethro2: 2:40pm On Sep 01, 2018 |
Bolabas02: Good day, Agriculturists.
I just secured a land of like 4 plots somewhere around Ogbomoso, and I don't have the idea of the best crop to plant in consideration to the smallness of the available farm land as well as the leaving rainy period. I do intend to make an optimal use of it. So, in this regard, any of your professional advice will be appreciated. Thanks
NB: Reason for suggested plant/crop should be provided, please. 1st step Go to the markets and do enough research on what crop you plan to grow Find out the season, the price, the scale or bag for measurements, colour of the variety demanded etc 2. Ensure you have your Irrigation planned along cause rain is rounding up in the Southwest. 3. Quality seeds, pest and diseases management's, soil texture, pollination etc all contributes to getting better yield. 4. Visit or related with a practicing Farmers on the specific crop you plan growing. Have a wonderful planting section |
