My 22Gig balance of the night plan has been resolved in principle but it is useless because I can't browse with it. MTN is really its it difficult for die hard fans like us to defend ita actions. I decided to write this because i think this issue of our network providers deceiving us with their fake data plans is getting out of hand.

I will say this this started with airtel Nigeria, transferred to Glo and now mtn. Why won't they be straight forward and be truthful with their data plans, airtel will tell you you can get 10gb data at the price of N3500(example), but in the true sense it is 4gb for N4000 with their DATA ZAPPING.

Glo followed suite with Glo blackberry plan which normally last longer but now you can't use Glo blackberry plan for 3 weeks. Then the one freaking me out is MTN NOW ZAPS DATA. I'm still trying to figure out how 3.5gb data that i subscribed last two weeks Sunday without downloading or updating my apps, is now remaining 266mb right now.

Mtn are not known to zap data and this isn't the first time i subscribed for their new data plan but it seems they have followed the footsteps of Airtel and Glo to zap data or maybe what happened to me is a network issue as some are complaining about the new data plans.

But why will these networks entice us with low cost for a high bundle plan. When i used airtel 9gb for N3,500 i nearly broke my airtel sim card with anger as it didn't last up to 2 weeks without any sort of downloads. Am afraid etisalat might soon join the trend.

MTN if you are offering 1.5gb for N1000 or 3.5GB data for N2000, let it be real. Not 600mb in disguise of 1.5gb or 1.2gb in disguise of 3.5GB data.

Airtel if you are offering 10gb data for N5000, let it be real not 4gb in disguise of 10gb data

Etisalat i hope you guys don't follow this trend as I'm planning to fully port to etisalat because of this issue.

Can u believe I subscribe for their 1.5gb on Monday just to check it on Tuesday morning and everything was swept clean. I later called them. They told me it'll be rectified. Tuesday gone, Wednesday nothing, Thursday nothing, Friday nothing.... I now called them yesterday again just to tell me that I've exhausted my 1.5gb. Those pple are d real barawo.

i had d same similar issue with you, so I call their customer agent to complain about this issue and they are all telling that vi should be patient that the data will be return since Monday. So on Friday I browse through there website to have a live chat with them. They started telling stories again. Na that time I con vex den I abuse the person behind d chat and there company. Naa Ogun I use threaten the woman, after some minute I saw a call from them and the lady started pleading with me and she told me she will refund my card on Monday morning when she came back to work.

I really do hope this Makes front page to draw the attention of all relevant authorities to the Ill treatment and rip-off trend being practiced by MTN. I had no plans to make my recent dealings with them public but after meeting up with a couple friends lastnight I discovered that about 5 of us present in the gathering had been ripped off and our data balance cleared by MTN this past week, each of us had all tried in private to have them resolve it but all to no avail.

On Monday the 16th of May 2016, I subscribed to the 3.5GB data plan for #2000, i got a flash message welcoming me to the bundle plan but never got a text message to that effect after which I decided to check my data balance. To my surprise it was 0mb not even up to 10mins after subscribing.

I called 180 almost immediately to raise a complaint and was told it would be fixed. I did have to call them about 3more times that night. Fast-forward to Tuesday evening, I called in again and was told it had been rectified. Checked my balance and saw 219mb which was a total shocker and I decided I was not going to turn on my mobile data until rectified. Called in again to register my displeasure and I was given their typical line, "we will forward your complaints to our technical team and within 24hrs it will be resolved".

Wednesday came, nothing done. I called in again and was told to wait another 24hrs.

Thursday came, nothing done still. As expected I was told to wait another 24hrs.

On Friday I had exhausted my patience. I called in and the customer care lady was about to have me on thesame routine diplomacy bout forwarding my complaints to technical team and 24hrs wait. I wasn't definitely going to have that cause it was starting to sound stupid and lame. I asked this lady to put me through to her supervisor, team leader since it was obviously that they had no power over my issue. This lady placed me on hold and ended the call, after struggling to call back the next customer care staff could not access my details and it all just seemed really funny to me as moments ago it was accessed. I got fed up and resolved to just switch sim and use another service provider for my internet use.

Just this evening MTN sent a text to say 'my data bundle cleared due to system challenges had been refunded'. Checked my data balance to see thesame 219mb and then I realised MTN is being smart with me.

Just Incase any of the guys at MTN comes across this post. It's really simple. If your technical team will not rectify my issue, have them take off that 219mb from my line cos I will not use what I didn't pay for, I paid for 3.5GB not 219MB.

I know there are obviously a whole lot of people who have had similar issues and even worse which never got resolved. This might seem like another rant but MTN please handle your business.

Y'ello Exodusontop, sorry for any inconvenience. Please note that MTN Zone has a base rate of 40k/sec and the maximum discount you can get is 70% which is 28kobo out of the 40kobo base rate. This implies that you can be billed as low as 12kobo and as high as 40kobo. The peak period is 6.00pm - 9.000pm and Off peak-period is 9.01pm-5.59pm.

Moreso, the plan will determine your billing rate as a result of two mixes- location and time of the day. It is important to turn on your device Cell Broadcast so as to get the billing rate before making calls. You may need to provide your phone number and device type and location for further assistance.

However, we have other tariff plans like MTN BetaTalk, MTN Pulse, MTN SmoothTalk+, MTN TruTalk.

I seriously cannot believe this. about a week ago I subscribed to the 1k surprise bundle and was given 3800 and about 300mb.
I exusted it and I was asked to do another. because of the value I got from the previous, I had to use my last 1k to subscribe another .I got a message that it was successful and I have been credited with 3800 and 300mb.
for me to start using it, I was told I had no airtime. I checked the balance with *559*16# and gbagaun everything is 0.
called customer care and I was told it will be rectified that it was a system error. since 9am till now. I called again now and the agent is as good as confused.
the most painful thing is that I lost the customer I wanted to call and will sleep on empty stomach because I plan to use the money to settle myself this night Chai. imagine loosing 1k in this current economic situation, Mtn Biko do something on before you lose your 9 years customer.
