Nice.... If we have sense, we can make a good Market out of this. We need not to be importing anymore. If we can produce and export to other African countries.

Family / Re: Single Nigerian Ladies In Diaspora, Any Reason Why You Turn Down Our Guys? by jimcaddy(m): 11:49pm On Nov 29, 2023
I totally agree with you on this. It's just a Nigerian thing. We Nigerians are self centred. It's a trait that is in bred in us. Poverty also doesn't help. Everyone is looking for "what's in it for me". This mind set is what has set Nigeria back. This trait follows us everywhere we go. We don't like our own, we don't value our own. We don't believe in our own. We like to copy others just so that you can show your fellow Nigerians that "you have arrived". It's sad. Nigerians need what they call "cognitive reconditioning" because our mindset is to terrible.
Klass99:

I am not in the diaspora but I stumbled on a thread where someone made a sensible comment about this same issue.

They said something to the effect of everyone being too smart because of their papers/stay, nobody wants to compromise or make sacrifices, for the sake of an authentic relationship because too much sense is worrying all of you there.Na una know wetin dey worry all of you sha!

From my observations, there's a tendency in most of you japarians to gravitate towards self conceit and a vain superiority complex, where you start to think you're better than other Nigerians because;

1. You've lived in obodo for XYZ number of years or you have papers, so even new immigrant Nigerians are like an affront to you guys (meaning their very presence in your host country is like an offence)

2. You think with your papers you have finally arrived what can any Nigerian offer you again. But your papers alone don't provide healthy social interactions, good friendships or companionship, laughter and fun moments with others.

I see that superiority complex even here on NL with folks who haven't lived overseas for 2 years, I smile and shake my head, thinking to myself, poverty is really not a good thing. When you grow up privileged very little about the white man trips you to a point where you start to insult or look down on your country and fellow country men. Because you grow up knowing what your own people are made of and capable of. It's not so much about privilege alone, but having a healthy dose and sense of self worth, self esteem and self love.

My friend engaged an asian cabbie in conversation in the UK, while riding in his car. The cabbie told her it is very disappointing to see the way we Africans/Nigerians in particular behave overseas. He said we are quick to throw away our cultural values to embrace western ones, we are the ones who are quick to talk back to parents and disrespect them (that was an incident he witnessed in his cab with a Nigerian family)

Whereas he sees Indians, Chinese and some Asians hold onto their cultural values and practices, maintaining the family unit, and refusing to let the west negatively influence them. I think the cabbie's experience and narrative, may help you understand why you are having a hard time finding a Nigerian date.

Can you tell your leaders to stay in Naija and get medical treatment from Naija doctors??
does anyone even believe in this system anymore? No!!! And when you don't believe I'm a system that you claim to govern, then change can never happen. So you see why Nigeria is stuck in the doldrums?

Stay and fix your fvcking country.
They won't kuku listen. We don't mind leaving our beloved land to go and do houseboy in a foreign land, bracing the cold, racism and all that rubbish. Seriously we have a long way to go if we want a better country. Nigerians are not ready for a better country. Let the selfish keep voting in the wrong leaders just for their immediate benefits, also let the selfish keep running away and not even care what happens to his next door neighbour. As long as the average Nigerian man is satisfied, he doesn't care about anybody else. This mentality and mindset is what has made Nigeria to be stuck where it is.

Though inflation is a global thing, but other sane governments are putting in place measures to ameliorate the effect this inflation is having on people. For example, increase of minimum wage. In Nigeria, the minimum wage of 30k cannot even buy one bag of rice, talkless of what you'll use to eat the rice. Yet the government has played deaf to our plight. Afterall it's government money, free money, lots of it, so they can afford anything and everything. But the common man can go to blazes for all they care.

u are ignorant. Who told Samsung is expensive because of the just the brand?
so tell me why Samsung phones are very expensive? I will tell you. First there is market for it, especially in Nigeria. The demand is high, and it's only natural that the price goes up. Also don't you know that being a big brand can lead to increase in price? Why are brands like Tecno getting more expensive? It's because their brand has grown bigger over the years.
Politics / Re: Nigerians Too Hard To Govern – Buhari by jimcaddy(m): 3:39pm On Nov 21, 2023
Uncle all these things no concern common man for street wey dey struggle. Your administration messed up and now you still handed over to the same administration that is still messing up. Plenty of Nigerians are borrowing money to run away from the country. It's that bad. People no longer believe in Nigeria anymore. People no longer want Nigeria to be good again. Everyone is running away. But everyone cannot finish running away. It's not possible.

Some women Sha. You women are usually the problem of yourselves because you will know that Mr A has a wife somewhere, but because Mr A is very rich, you will decide to seduce him and make him sleep with you so that you can collect his money, knowing fully well that he is happily married o. Now when the tables turn, you will come and start crying fowl. It's so sad that in Nigeria, with money, you can sleep with any woman you want. And it's also sad that in Nigeria, women will do anything just because of money. Like money controls is in this Nigeria. Money dictates everything.
Phones / Re: Features Of The New Itel A70 by jimcaddy(m): 9:36pm On Nov 15, 2023
You all be saying that it's Samsung or nothing, you people realise that it's just difference in brands. To me, as long as a phone has the required specifications that satisfies my everyday need, I don't care whatever name they call it. The reason why Samsung is so expensive is just because of the brand name. They are trying to level up with Apple. Go to China and see the phones the Chinese use. Chinese people don't give two craps about the brand of phone. They can use any phone that suits their everyday needs.

Yet everyone wonders why the price of Naira to Dollars keep going up. Nigerians are hoarding Dollars, meaning supply is very limited. I've said it a thousand times that we are the problem of ourselves in this Nigeria. Even the owners of the Dollars do not hoard their currency the way we Nigerians do. Like we just like to abuse everything all in the name of show off.

Politics / Re: Nationwide Strike Begins Monday Midnight - NLC, TUC by jimcaddy(m): 7:11pm On Nov 13, 2023
Honestly after the days of Adams Oshiomhole, the Nigeria Labour Congress has become a toothless bulldog. Only bark, they cannot bite. This strike should have been held aa long time ago immediately after the removal of fuel subsidy without a corresponding increase in the minimum wage. It's so annoying that the FG thinks that 30k can still feed a family of one in this Nigeria. Everything is so bloody expensive, including basic amenities like food. You carry 10k to supermarket, you will only buy four items and the money has finished. Like wtf is going on in this country. Aren't there supposed to be government price regulatory agencies that should go around and tell retailers or wholesalers to stop charging abnormal profit on the price of basic commodities? Now you collect salary of 100k, in two weeks it has finished. Yet to even get that 100k job is a fcukiiing struggle. Companies will be dangling 40 to 70k in front of a whole Graduate and will use and over use you, then also at the end of the month, they will still owe you salary. Like Nigeria is just a write off, honestly. Like we Nigerians are just the ones doing this to ourselves. We don't like one another. We don't mind if Nigeria becomes spoilt, as long as some few greedy people can benefit. Meanwhile you travel abroad, you go and behave yourselves over there. Like we are bunch of bloody hypocrites.

Honestly you're absolutely correct but the truth is that some people will still disagree with you here. I trust some Nigerians. There is nothing you will tell them about this Japaa thing that they will listen. In their mind, they believe that once you get abroad, you will automatically make it in life. It's until you get there before you know what's up. I tell them, life is not as rosy as you think it is. Infact Nigeria is even way better. If not that Nigeria is in a mess as it is, this country has the potential to be a great nation to live in. But the problem with Nigeria is Nigerians

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Got Sacked After Asking For My Four Month Salary. by jimcaddy(m): 1:27pm On Nov 06, 2023
I don't know why Nigerians like doing this. Especially one man business owners. They just love to owe their workers salary. Common if you cannot run a business, don't even start. That's the mistake many of them make. They will say "let me risk it". The whole thing will now backfire, they will now start pouring out their anger and frustration on the poor employee who is only doing his job. I can totally relate, as I'm also going through the same thing at my workplace. They haven't paid me for two months now. I don't know when they will pay. Like it's not fair, you dare not try this in saner climes. It's so sad that Nigerians can obey the laws of other countries, but they find it so hard to obey the laws of their own fatherland.
Romance / Re: You Must Have At Least 5 Million In Your Account To Date Me: Says A Fine Lady by jimcaddy(m): 1:18am On Nov 06, 2023
You see Nigerians and their fake hypocritical lifestyle ehn. This one talking now, ask her how much she get for account balance now, ee fit no reach 500k. Yet you want a man who must have 5million in his account balance. Like where do we all get this our flawed thinking from? Honestly Nigerian women you need to do better. Your success in life shouldn't revolve around a man. And you being successful all by yourself shouldn't mean that you should hate men. Seriously almost every Nigerian girl seems to have this same stereotypical mindset and it needs to change.
