Maybe Fulani related maybe not.
The problem with self help security arrangements in security architecture is gaps in communication with Army. They reported on social media that armed foreigners were camped around these areas that were attacked. Why were soldiers not drafted? Maybe because stupidity has taken over and parts of the architecture were absent.. "since you now have champion Igboho" This is no way to run a modern country. Mob sense is no sense. States need to link up with the Army and Police. To say that Army and Police are partial so you won't cooperate with them is stupid. If you want to take that attitude, then use PMCs but PMCs are expensive. So we are back to what we should be doing; scouting, reporting, evacuating, securing, attacking and arresting.

There is no such thing as Christian law. Infact the entire essence of Christianity is operating under grace. All the demand for Christian law is 666 stuff. Very evil. To make matters interesting, all the laws we operate now werec based on injunctions in the Bible already so what is Christian law. Political Christianity is dangerous. No Christian should be operating under inferiority complex and childish feelings of being oppressed

He instigated a war that killed almost 100 innocent children so he could hang on to power. Now he's losing it and likely to end in jail for fraud and corruption.

He clunged on to power for 12 whole years yet still don't want to go! shocked
He must face ICC! He sent his police to go fire at unarmed Muslim worshippers while praying inside the holy site mosque during Ramadan. He did it to pick a needless war against the same people he had conquered. Just for one reason; to hold on to power.

He still thinks we are in the era where pro Isreal CNN, BBC , VOA will be dishing out lies and pro Isreali propaganda to the rest of the world.
I saw the Isreali police attacking the Muslim worshippers while praying inside the holy site mosque and I was disgusted! Who does that? Isreal had a narcissistic person as their leader and they obviously regret it now.

I looked at him how he had no single remorse during the 11 day war and I just couldn't wrap my head around how this kind of individual became a PM.
Even President Kenyatta stopped his speech while a nearby mosque was calling for prayers yet a Proselyte ordered Isreali police to go fire at unarmed people praying. People who you know are fasting! In 2021 era of social media and power of smartphones recording live!

Yes. Netanyahu lost his head. Funny enough most ordinary Israelis don't support a belligerent posture towards Palestinians

NASS TEAM IN USA TO ASSESS PROGRESS OF WORK ON NAF A-29 SUPER TUCANO AIRCRAFT

As part of their oversight functions, the National Assembly (NASS) Joint Committee on Defence and Air Force are currently in the United States of America (USA) on inspection tour of Embraer Defence Security Incorporated (EDSI), manufacturers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) A-29 Super Tucano aircraft. Specifically, members of the joint committee are in the USA to assess the status and progress of work on the NAF A-29 Super Tucano aircraft. On arrival at EDSI yesterday, 27 May 2021, the NASS team led by Senator Michael Nnachi, was briefed on the progress of work on the NAF A-29 Super Tucano programme and the scheduled date of delivery.

While briefing the NASS team, Colonel Authur Ford of the United States Air Force Fighters and Advance Aircraft Directorate stated that 10 out of the 12 aircraft were ready for delivery while 2 were undergoing modification and integration to NAF specific operational configuration. He went on to state that 6 of the aircraft are scheduled to arrive in Nigeria in July 2021 while the remaining 6 will be delivered before the end of October 2021. The NASS team was assured that the aircraft, expected to play critical roles in the fight against insurgency and criminality, would be delivered as planned.

Responding, Senator Michael Nnachi commended EDSI for the quality of work on the NAF A-29 Super Tucano. He however queried the long duration of time from the date of full payment to expected date of delivery, which he estimated to be between 3 to 4 years. In response, the Col Ford informed the team that the long duration was due to the challenges of configuring the aircraft to fit NAF’s required specifications.

The visiting team which also included Honourables Babajimi Benson, Shehu Koko, Abubakar Maki and Honourable Abass Adigun were received on arrival at Jacksonville, Florida by the Nigerian Defence Attaché to the USA, Air Commodore Jibrin Usman, the Lead Foreign Liaison Officer on the A-29, Air Vice Marshal Sule Lawal and senior management staff EDSI.

Not smart at all. The aircrafts can be breached by Islamic terrorists. They want to die. The aircraft themselves are vulnerable to all manner of more technical sabotage or espionage. Moscow already has proximity to Syria to ensure their interests are protected

You want to fine tune 63 constitution that choked minories with just 4 regions but you can't fine tune 1999 constitution that has 36 states & 774 LGAS, your IQ is too low for this discussion.

This is my problem with Nigeria. People don't sit down to think anymore. The discussion space is now taken up by 20-somethings and 30-somethings who no nothing about anything. The 1963 constitution also failed. Of course it failed. It led to military incursion into politics. Yes minorities were suppressed in the regions (and this is not as benign as it sounds). It was state creation that made some of us realise that not all northerners were Muslims and not all S. Easterners were Igbos. We need to be careful that one track minded binary thinkers who can't think railroad us into errors of the past.

Did you now discover other than IRST other features you mentioned does exist on the NAF JF-17. About IRST it is inferior to BVRAAM moreso backed up with IFF capability.

For more info you can hear the fighter pilot himself reel out capabilities of the NAF JF-17. Info now on public fora all over the internet which you can also source to corroborate.

https://twitter.com/DefenseNigeria/status/1395585576737386496?s=19

I must add Nigeria paid quite a decent amount for its 3 JF-17 THUNDERS as it also did for its A-29 Super Tucanos soon to be delivered in July.
Some of the extra costs go for extended capabilities we direly need in the war up north.

We have a targeting pod ASELPOD that does amongst other things what IRST does. That's 4.5 Gen. The only thing lacking is RCS reducing airframe but Rafale dies not also have stealthy airframe but is Gen 4.5++

Video brief of the JF-17.

Talking about the JF-17s data-link, air to air & air to ground capability, weapons hard point, targeting pod and designation, and HOTAS.

The Pilot refers to the JF-17 as a 4.5 generation aircraft, I don't agree with this, put the JF-17 is clearly a formidable aircraft.

If it is fly by wire and it has data link it is 4.5gen

Ha ha . Very young, inexperienced people on Nairaland. So this is a big thing to you?. It is not. It is simple carelessness from the company commander and the NA should start wielding the big stick. Apparently, with good scouting work and a network of watchers you can predict if an attack would be coming but Apparently they did not do this in this case.

I believe there's an institutional crisis in the army. Our soldiers on video always look and sound so unprofessional.

First I thought it was a one off thing, but with each video, it seems much deeper rot has taken place.

Rushed training without TRADOC elements. No more good RSMs in the Army. These are the two reasons. Some of the war songs are beginning to sound like university cult songs.

How true is this...

Nigerians should take the trouble to think about situations. The brain was given for a reason.
When you are an Army company on the ground and you radio for air support, the *nearest* aircraft is asked to come to you.
What if it was vectored in from another engagement and dies not have any more bombs, rockets and even fuel to make it back to base?. It woukd have to leave you without engaging but there is value in the trip because it might have scared the enemy away or given information to joint operations control.

It is always annoying to hear these reports of NAF coming and leaving without engaging and dunces concluding that it was sabotage

It seems to me like the NA can't fight these ragtag militias without air support. Its like the NA are waiting for Tucanos and JF-17 before they could muster courage to venture of thier Super Camps.

Everything just looks blimp and scary to me. I come to this thread to read and enjoy news of Victory over these bloodsockers but I am.daily fed with news of REPELLED REPELLED and REPELLED

You are using civilian terms like ' fight ' which sounds like random violence perpetuated in crime prone neighborhoods. The Armed Forces have strategy and plans. There has to be order of battle to match those plans. If aircraft have been bought to operationalise the plans then yes the Army must wait for them.
BH knows what is coming a d they also must try to probe and distract and delay.
Whatever is happening we should know that it is more than just a 'fight'.

This is laughable. I read through this 3 times and could not find evidence of laundering. The US firm was obviously a company providing legal services related either to the Super Tucano acquisition or the training of pilots and ground crews.
The invoice description is not surprising. There are many way defence acquisitions are screened to protect national security.

https://www.nairaland.com/6502214/us-places-isa-pantami-terror

There is disquiet in the land at the weekend following an allegation that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Alhaji Isa Ali Ibrahim, also known as Sheikh Pantami, has fallen on the watch list of the America’s Intelligence Service.

Ibrahim, also the Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Sharia Council in Nigeria and a former student of Salafist ideologies, was trained in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East with other top Islamic jihadists.

Before his appointment as a minister, Ibrahim was a known Islamic preacher and held what was termed ‘dangerous views’ against the American government with allegiance to Al-Qaeda.

According to a report, the minister was said to be a very close confidant of the late Mohammed Yusuf, the killed leader of Boko Haram with whom he allegedly shared jihadist doctrines.

According to Western Intelligence, the minister had ties with Abu Quatada al Falasimi and other Al-Qaeda leaders that he revered and spoke glowingly of in several of his videos on YouTube.

In one of his narratives, Ibrahim had eulogised Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi as a great leader, who joined Al-Qaeda group after emigrating to Afghanistan at the end of the September 11, 2001 terror attack on the World Trade Centre in America.

This is what he wrote about Abu Musab: “Under the Osama’s leadership, he became the unit commander of army of AlQaeda with the support of the Commander of the loyal Maula Umar (Taliban leader).

The graphics shooting etc was terrible, I don't really know the budget for the movie but they should have done better because the Airforce really came out to support these guys with Aircrafts, Location(NAF HQ) etc

I knew the film was going to end up that way. There are studios in Hollywood to take the thing to for photo-realistic effects but as usual I imagine someone pocketed the film budget and everyone just hoped the hype and NAF support will carry the film through.
I also suspect a weak screenplay and terrible (maybe nepotic) casting so I am not going to bother to watch the nonsense.

We should focus on our LNG where we have serious comparative advantage. And whichh is also perhaps the fastest growing commodity. There is no dedicated upstream cost for us. Our plants are supplied by extant projects. Bonny Lng is a top 3 cost efficency operation...

Transport cost to East Asia, Western Europe and North America is very favorable to us (vs mozambique, qatar etc). We own the supply structure for that and can sell to the highest bidder unlike pipeline gas. Lng allows us develop auxiliary services that add greatly to our economy, e.g bonny gas transport with its own fleet and seamen , repairmen, engineers etc on an ongoing basis.

Pipeline gas is cool but thru the sahara to morocco ? Pay transit fees to reach Spanish points that have LNG terminals ? Insecurity issue with IS and AQ (have to spend on security contracts to outside parties ? )
Let's focus on getting OCP to build the fertilizer and chemicals plant. That's what we need from Morocco. On the other hand, this energy should ve directed towards revamping Brass LNG and another one in Akwa Ibom.

You are looking at the terminating points and not the number of countries on the route and value chain industries possible just by having the pipeline.

Another thing is that Nigeria 's gas reserves are beyond what LNG plants can significantly dip into.
Nigeria is sitting on trillions of cubic feet of the stuff. When you build 100 LNG plants, you are just scratching the surface.
