Politics / Re: Abuja To Kano And Lagos To Ibadan Projects Are Already Unviable by Jimi24: 6:34am On Jan 22, 2021
Aconomist:
According to the Nigerian government, not a single piece of cargo has been transported on the new rails. Basically, this means the project is unviable. Clearly, an East to West rail would have been the better use of the FOREX.

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/01/29/fg-bemoans-non-utilisation-of-railway-for-cargo-evacuation/

You are a liar. Most of you are liars that is why you are not getting what you want politically. A rail project was launched a few months back and you are saying it has failed. LIAR.
The cargo element of rail is going to evolve with time with great impact to internal costs within the economy and GDP.
We are going to need the terminals and cargo handling aspects which will evolve through private sector participation.

If you expect the Nigerian economy to be a trailer and tanker driven one with go-slows, fire incidents and Dangote trucks parked all over busy highways then go back to your village, you are not ready for the new Nigeria.

Rail as come to stay. Get your brains working on how to derive cost efficiencies from it. Stop moaning. Stop feeling sorry for yourself because Nigeria is prigressing

hi everyone.

Nigeria air force pilots have lot of experience F7 combat aircraft. Why not buying the Guizhou JL-9, also known as the FTC-2000 Mountain Eagle. This aircraft is a F7 with a new wing, a forward fuselage with side air intakes, and a glass cockpit. The engine, empennage, and mechanical controls of the F7 are retained. It is a multi-role combat fighter aircraft and one of the cheapest multirole fighters on the market with the aim to replace old legacy fighters ( like the F7).
For the moment, Nigeria air force will have many FTC-2000 (on which pilots have already lot of experience) as regular combat aircraft and few JF-17 as high end combat aircraft.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guizhou_JL-9

https://asianmilitaryreview.com/2020/05/chinas-avic-announces-first-export-order-for-ftc-2000g/

https://thaimilitaryandasianregion./2015/11/01/jl-9-jianlian-9-trainer-light-attack-aircraft-china/

That's a nonsense aircraft. How could a country be buying JF17, looking at the SU 35 fpr possible acquisition and still be thinking of FTC-2000?

To be frank, give guys in Bunkery business $100Million, they’ll build a world class refinery for you. I’ve visited most Bunkery sites, believe me, those guys are really good. With local and little equipments, they can produce all petroleum products with just firewoods.

This is one of the most stupid and ignorant posts I have read in two years. There is a weird way the Nigerian mind functions that annoys a lot. Calling tin pot distillation units refineries is just one example. It shows technological ignorance when you see year 1BC artisanal stuff being passed along as breakthrough by dunces. All because your country is corrupt and you don't want to get serious. There are working refineries in Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Niger Republic and many other countries below Nigeria's level in technology and managerial skills yet you guys keep pushing rubbish tin pots that govt should be using for target practice everyday

For those without data to watch, let me break it down for you.

For Biden to emerge winner , he must win the electoral college votes.

The electoral college is determined by the respective state houses from which a list of electors are drawn by the house leadership.

In the 9 states in contention , 8 are controlled by Republicans .

The Democrat governor may attempt to block the house drawing a list of electors and so there will be counter suits flying around challenging the electors' list.

At this point, Michigan votes may be disallowed over strong evidence of voter fraud, thereby denying Biden the minimum 270 electoral college votes.

The US Constitution is very specific on this scenario as it states clearly that the US House of Representatives will then vote to decide the winner.

The Democrats have a majority of seats in Congress owing to wards as Democrat states like California and New York (due to their population) send more Representatives to Congress.

You may be thinking that this will see Nancy Pelosi lead the charge to confirm Biden as the winner but the Constitution specifies that all states have just one vote.

The current house is composed of 26 Republican states against that of Democrats with just 24.

So at the very end, Trump will win.

That's why the man is not bothered and is out everyday playing golf.

Lol.

Only Nigerian kids think this way. Childishness and crookedness mixed together. No republican led states that Biden won will vote Trump.
You and Trump are at the same infantile level of thinking. Those Republican state voted electors who will knock Trump out if office. They also returned most members of their party back to state houses and Senate but they have booted out Trump.
You need to stop deceiving yourself , Trump has stopped. They have told him the truth

Openbusiness:
Yes agreed, with the way time is so short, the case might never get to the Supreme Court on time before the Electoral College starts voting. And that's why if you read my original post very well, you will see that I highlighted this reality there. And which is why, because the Supreme Court might end up not even being in the picture at all, this thread is not based on Trump winning via the Supreme Court; BUT based on another viable alternative to Trump winning his 2nd Term that will surely play out.

Even the idea of electors from dome states voting their conscience against the wish of voters, that's amateurishness in the extreme.
If you think this happens and you don't extend the thinking to the dissolution of the entire US but you think all it does is return Trump to the White House then Nigerian crookedness has joined the amateurishness

Supreme Court judgements are not run of the mill judgements. They would only rule on fundamental legal system procedural issues in the light of the constitution

You have to be a simpleton to think the SCOTUS will disenfranchise millions of voters by upturning what they voted for.

Biden is doing drive thru campaigns. You sit in your car and you participate in the rally. There is no way camera's can capture. They are hooking up massively. Democrats are spending billions of $$$$ in person to person campaign targeting battle ground states and even traditional Republican havens like Texas and Georgia

Trump is toast.

Some of his intelligent supporters may be right though. Only God can help him because he already lost this election. He himself knows.

He won't do better than he did in 2016 but his performance on COVID19 and race and corruption has made him lose the narrow margins he won in battle ground states.
Game over.

dopeness of life...
hopefully the UAV champions will take this as a win... grin because it is a win....10 CH4's(if confirmed) will greatly improve situational awareness for personnel on the front line. 30-40 hours loiter time cool, with precision weapons (AR-1 or AR-2) should reduce the instances of ambush suffered by military personnel. We need more though, at least 40 - 50 of these; 10-15 always operational 10-15 as standby(take over from operational UAV's after 1 month; maintenance schedule) 10-15 for external engagements(coastal/west Africa/Sahel) 10-15 for continuous training, eventually no military patrol team/ strike team in Nigeria should leave base without the cover of a designated UAV ready to be re-directed to specified coordinates. Although we need many more small and specialized tactical UAV's, for example: tethered drones for base perimeter security, the super camps have made bases a lot safer but having tethered UAV's in camp to provide additional layer of perimeter security wouldn't hurt.
Now, talking about one weak link we will definitely encounter with using these drones: precision munitions; the military needs to start looking at ways of reverse engineering the AR 1 missile that they got with the CH3 drones, they definitely will been acquiring more air to ground missiles along with the new purchase of the Ch4 UAV's but judging from the videos released by DHQ about 70% of the strikes are dumb bombs, they are accurate enough but boosting the level of precision strikes to 60% will greatly increase the efficiency of the CH4 platform. AR-1 missile should and must be reverse engineered, the newer and lighter AR-2 should also be looked into. AR-1 is a replica of the AGM-114 Hellfire. The military need to cut down the cost of these precision munitions in order to strike even more effectively. MOU's between the military and technical colleges, private universities, steel/aluminum fabrication companies, private software companies should help speed development. Some of the components of an air to ground missile like the Hellfire or AR-1 include, laser seeker, rocket propulsion(military already has this figured out), guidance(motherboard, circuits, semiconductors and software) this section can be replicated using Raspberry pi or Arduino boards. The warhead section, well, they can figure this one out too. Point is once one is disassembled by a group of very curious engineers the smartest physics students working with capable software engineers, they should be able to replicate it using mostly off the shelf components; the replicated missile might be larger at first but so long as it works, they can figure out how to make the next one smaller. cool Nigeria has all the required professional personnel needed for a project like this.

Very good visioning. Realistic, knowledge able and achieve able

Looking at the defence budget, you'll be confused, but it seems procurement listed on Nigeria's defence budget is usually different from actual procurement.

For example the VT-4 Tank, SH-5 artillery, ST-1, CH-4 UCAVs, ARA MRAP, Ezugwu MRAP, K-152 and MI-17s are not listed in the Defence budget. SDB3 is also not listed in the Defence budget, but Nigeria is getting them.

The budget, especially on the project side might seem empty, but it more like a mirage than anything else.

"The devil is actually not in the detail, but what is delivered".

Those weapons you listed here have been bought, paid for and being delivered. They were bought outside the defence budgets. The capital items in the 2021 budget are separate from them and will come differently.

Lol 2020 is an interesting year, 1/4 of rice production is washed away. These little events along with news of Nigeria importing grain put Nigeria's Argo sufficiency into question. I think its safe to say the agriculturual policies have failed and the government should admit like they did the subsidies.

Floods washed away harvests and that means agro policies have failed?.
I hope you know this is a bad reflection on your IQ. Nigerians say they are educated yet they find thinking difficult.
All these farmers will get NIRSAL agric insurance loan compensation so no permanent loss.
There will be an increase in rice prices which will further encourage rice farming.
Even rice importation that a lot of you unpatriotic simpletons are hoping for will only go to companies active in rice vslue chain. Only rice mill owners will import rice and they will be mostly northerners.
