We are not celebrating Nigeria's independence, but we are celebrating God's faithfulness in our lives. If not for God, more than half of our population would died of hunger. However, with all the challenges, we are still alive, therefore, glory to God. I believe if the English people are faced with the conditions Nigerians are passing through, half of their population would have perished by now. Many women were forming women right activists, celebrating joyfully over the news on social media with non-Igbos and non-traditional Igbos.

Bruv, there are traditional doings that can't be stopped by social media arguement and ranting.

Not even the Federal government can give women access to their father's properties when there are men in the family. In the settings of inheritance in Igbo land, a woman has no say. The earlier y'all accept this the better.

Most of the things women advocate on social media are things that will lead them to frustration or to their early grave when practiced in reality. Let social media ideas end on social media if you want to live long in this county.

This is the 21st century and things are changing fast very. Some years back most our great grandfathers were idols worshippers, but people now seen idols worshipping as archaic religion and many people have embraced Christianity. Moreover, no tradition supersedes Nigeria Constitution.

I am not surprised about this news because this Nigeria.

Money gives you assets, but peace and joy are given by God.

This is a very simple issue. People always like to appropriate power for selfish reasons. PSC is supposed to be in charge of recruiting police constables. Which body recruits people in the federal civil service? It's federal civil service commission and not the minster. Who recruits staff of National Assembly? Hope is the National Assembly service commission and not the Senate President or the speaker. Who recruits people in a company? Hope is the Board of Directors and not the CEO of MD. And many more examples.

Is it 10pm to 6pm or 10pm to 6am?

How are laws being interpreted in this country. How can one arm of government stops another from carrying out a lawful duty? There is no law in Nigeria that has ouster clauses. In developed countries, police has the right to invite anybody any time without interference from the Courts. In the US, some states even have 'no knock warrant' in their laws

Why is the FG so keen in passing the water resources bill? Is this the most important bill right now? What about restructuring? The situation where the FG has appropriated all powers in the country is not good for development. Municipal policing is what developed nations are doing now, but in Nigeria, policing is controlled centrally and that is why they cannot fight crime. Let every state compete among themselves and develop at their own pace. You can't force all states to run at the same pace. FG has no business involving in agriculture, regulating admission in tertiary institutions, registration of the media houses and internal security (except where the civil authority is overstretched)etc. In the US, the states handle all elections including election to the office of the president.

IMO, marriage should be contractual. The couple can decide to elongate the marriage at the expiration of each contract. They can decide to quit if they are not compatible during the existing contract.

When countries are disinvesting from public corporation, our president is still proposing a company to be solely owned by government. Where is Nigeria Airways, where is daily Times, where is NITEL etc. Countries that want economic development create conducive atmosphere for businesses to strive. These things are not working here because of corruption. Open up the oil and gas sector and allow private individuals to come in and invest.

A Nigerian Army colonel, M.Z Manu, has been killed bandits in Unguwar Doka Village under Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

SaharaReporters gathered that the colonel and some soldiers, who were on routine patrol, ran into an ambush by the bandits, which led to his death.

Two other soldiers and some civilians were also killed by the gunmen.

A security source said the bandits, armed with AK-47 rifles, invaded the village on motorcycles before launching the deadly attack.

These bandits' killings are getting out of hand. You cannot kill a sergeant in USA army nor a member of IDF and go Scot free. Israel some years back release more than 1000 members of Hamas military wing held in their jail in exchange for an Israeli soldier (captain) in the custody of Hamas. God take some of us to another country.
