MrMcJay: As a retired Colonel, Dasuki is now a civilian therefore, it is criminal for him to be found in possession of a rifle. You are correct, but even if he is still serving and not retired, possessing the calibre of weapons found with him is still unlawful. A serving Colonel once told me that many of his colleagues possess unlicensed pistols, not because it is legitimate, but simply because no policeman will question them if found with it. |

hassan85: you always talk like an educated illiterate. yes he was charged. y didn't he indicate it on the handover note? use ur brain My brother, he couldn't even have indicated it because he has no right to possess such arms even if he is a serving general. The notion that he has the right to posses those weapons because he was a soldier is premised on the wrong belief by most Nigerians that soldiers have the right to buy and own guns, while civilians are forbidden. Most Nigerians don't even know that some of the assault rifles they see with soldiers on duty are not the personal possessions of those soldiers, and must be submitted as soon as the duty is over. |

chukwudi44: You charge a retired army Colonel and someone who was NSA barely 48 hours after leaving office for illegal possession of firearms!!! how dumb can a government get. Even a 100 level law student will have this case thrown out It's unfortunate that a lot of Nigerians are ignorant of gun laws in Nigeria. Lots of people think that as a soldier, you can just walk into a gun shop and buy arms. I remember a serving Colonel once told me that even a serving General has no legal right to possess unlicensed arms, but most of his colleagues now possess unlicensed arms because nobody will question them if found with a gun since they are soldiers. Anyway, the DSS is not ignorant of the law regarding possession of arms in Nigeria (Dasuki himself knows that the law forbids him from possessing the kind of arms found with him), that's why they have charged him. |

Freksy: Impliedly, that means anything practiced in the church today is correct, provided it is the current practice. Hmmm... not so, bros.
The onus is rather yours to prove that your stance has scriptural reference. The lack of it will vindicate my position. You were the one who controverted someone's point by alluding that the portrait of Pontius Pilate was not displayed in the temple, ostensibly because it's wrong to do so (I don't know how you got to know that, but it could be so). My argument is that if the portrait of Pilate wasn't displayed in the temple, we can't be sure it's because it was wrong to do so. Remember no body was doing that then, whether it's a church or government institution. So even if it's not wrong to display Pilate's portrait in the temple, they still would not do that because displaying a leader's pic in public offices is a modern day idea. Moreover, President Buhari's photo is not in the temple (church), even the bishop's and pastor's pics are not displayed in the church. The president's pic is on display in the reception of the office, and the office is used for administrative purposes. |

Freksy: Recognized by doing what, hanging a portrait of Pontius Pilate in the temple? Was it a practice to hang the official portraits of heads of state during the time of Pontius Pilate. What Living Faith did is the currency today. I am receptive to learning, so I am waiting for you to point out any government and public institutions that hanged the portraits of heads of states in the days of antiquity. If you did that, then I will accept your point |

Freksy: Pontius Pilate was the Roman governor of Judea during Jesus’ earthly ministry. (Lu 3:1)
Can anyone imagine Jesus having a portrait of this Caesar hung behind him while giving sermons in the temple?
Caesar things should be left in the house of Caesar.
What I am seeing there is a symbolic woman wooing the wild beast(s) - a union that can be described as spiritual fornication.
Today, many places of worship are not only houses of commerce, but of parliament. This is done in recognition of state authority, which our Lord Jesus also did recognize |

Pic: Living Faith Church Now Displays The Portrait Of President Buhari In Office
.It is quite common across Nigeria to find photographs of the Head of State on display in public organizations and institutions. When Goodluck Jonathan was president, his photographs were on display in most offices of large Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel). This was an official practice. After General Buhari was declared the winner of the last presidential election, I was wondering if the leadership of my church would display Buhari's photo in our offices, considering that Buhari is a Muslim, and Living Faith is a church. I got a pleasant surprise recently when I went to the office of Living Faith Church, Life Camp, Abuja, and I saw President Buhari's picture hung on the wall along with our Bishop's and pastor's pic. What a nice gesture. The leadership of Living Faith Church is truly patriotic.
