There are some ways to become a permanent resident/citizen of a country.

They are as follows;

1) Job offer - If an employer is willing to apply for an immigrant stay. I have seen a case of a guy who got employed on LinkedIn by a swedish man.

2) Marriage - This is the easiest way to become a permanent resident or citizen of a country. If you marry a Spaniard, you become a citizen after a year of marriage.

3) Child birth - If you give birth in brazil, the child automatically gets citizenship and permanent residence given to the parents (if they are foreigners, regardless of legal status in Brazil) and you can apply for Brazillian citizenship after one year of legal residence. Brazillian passport gives admission to over 140 countries visa free (including the UK, Ireland, whole of EU) cool

4) Investment - If you have money, i mean real money, you can invest in USA, Australia, Austria, Canada etc but if you have less money to invest, then focus on tropical carribean countries, with $100,000, you can become a citizen by investment

5) Asylum - Well, this is not easy to get like before. Despite that, the LGBTIQ folks are still getting the asylum in Canada and other countries. We know majority of Nigerians are homophobic so it kinda make it easy for LGBT people to get asylum on the basis of that.

6) Being exceptionally good at a sport - I have heard of this

7) Education - It's very important to make research to know the immigration policy of a country before moving there. Canada, Germany, Scandinavian nations, USA, Australia, NZ etc offer a path to permanent residency after study

8.) Applying as a skilled migrant by following through the country's process. Canada, Australia and New zealand have such programs in place

9. Humanitarian grounds - if removing an immigrant would endanger the person's health etc
yeah I concur especially with the no6. I heard been really good at a particular sport can get you a citizenship without stress

We got a similarity there.
This country is getting worse everyday. Sometimes i wake up at night just to cry cos it got to a point where i became frustrated. My efforts to leave Nigeria was futile and to think that I'm not getting younger makes me even more sad but all is well sha. embarassed

I have never being proud of being a Nigerian cry
Nigeria is a country with the highest religiously gullible persons in the whole universe, a place where a hardcore illiterate self appointed pastor/Imam will enslave a PhD holder and milk him dry. A country where rich oppress the poor. A country where you are expected to do everything by yourself and we have government oo. A country where internet fraudsters/drug dealers/money rituals are celebrated. A country where God is expected to do the government's duties. God is expected to cure malaria, provide electricity for the masses, secure the masses, pave the roads and even protect a drunken driver overspending on the highway. Since jobs are sold to the highest bidder, getting a job after graduation becomes a supernatural miracle which must be celebrated with a church Thanksgivings service. Shame on this country angry
. Anytime i reason how life be for this zoo I dey cry

Hey Guys,

My first attempt. Help me thank God, my visa was approved June 3.

Thanks to everyone that posted their transcript here because I used it to practice.

My transcript:

VO : Your passport and I-20
Me: Good morning ( I passed it)

VO : Why did you choose this course and this school?
Me : I have been an ardent follower of professor xyz and he happens to be a lecturer in this great institution. Also, I have a couple of previous and current colleagues who are graduates of this institution and they have amazing reviews about the standard of education.

VO: what do you do currently?
Me: I’m a senior software engineer

VO: I can see you have a scholarship of 17k why is your sibling still sponsoring you with 32k?
Me: before the scholarship, she has already promised to sponsor me with that amount.

VO: What does she do?
Me: She was formally an accountant with xyz oil and gas Ltd but she currently runs her own company and she’s doing absolutely well.

VO: How long has she been running this company?
Me: 2 years now

VO: Are you sure she can afford the amount since she’s been running this business in this country for just two years?
Me: Oh yes, she makes a lot of profit and she already has a staff strength of 22 employees

VO: (Turns off mic and types for a long time and takes my i-20 to another of her colleagues to confirm a couple of things)
Me: (singing in my heart Moses bliss song titled faithful to fail me, also praying that I’ll not leave here with a blue paper)

VO: (closed my passport and returned I-20 slide her had into the pile of white paper)
Me: (singing in my heart JudiKay song titled Capable God)

VO: you’d need this 1-20 blah blah blah...(hand over my 1-20 with white sheet, said a lot of other instructions then said)
I wish you a safe trip to the United States of America.
Me: thank you.

When I stepped out, I was actually crying, a lot of people were telling me don’t worry you can try again, without realizing that I got an approval.

Guys, you need to pray, your visa is totally dependent on the person interviewing you, his/her mood and what ever they feel at that time.

A lot of people were more prepared than I was, answered better that I did, where asked more technical questions and they gave amazing answers but were also rejected.

I’m not trying to scare anyone but trust me, when you get there you’d see for yourself.

This is my first time and when I entered the hall, I was gripped with fear, but I had just one confidence, and that was God has gone before me and He was also with me.

I wish everyone success and thanks to Everyone sharing there experience.

. Congratulations bro.. go Excel

Lagos Interview - Approved
27 May 2021
Assistantship covers 99% COA
Deficit $500

Thank you to all contributors here. You guys helped me through my journey. Thank you so much @schrodinger1 and @dodoyinsola for your help. I am super grateful.

I don't have so much to share from my personal interview experience however, from others that I listened to while waiting for my turn, it is best to go very prepared with lots of prayers. Study all transcripts on this forum and draft yours too. I drafted mine and went through the interview process with a Nairalander at least once. Treasure the advice on this platform....na real gold!

Wishing all other prospectives God's favour!

TRANSCRIPT

VO- Good morning
Me- Good morning

VO- Can I have your passport and documents
Me- Passed old and new passport and form i-20

VO- why did you give me two passports?
Me- One is my old passport. She immediately gave it back to me.

VO- Reads out...You are going to ...XYZ...University to study....ABC
Me- That's correct

VO- I can see you have assistantship
Me- Yes please

VO- Do you have proof of this
Me- Yes. Searched my documents, couldn't find the print out and I saw it stuck to the form i-20 I gave her. Told her to check beneath the form i-20. She didn't.

VO- Typed on her system and handed me the white paper with my documents while she kept my passport. Told me to pick up....
Me- Thank you and left. Pure grace. I tap into this grace

Deficit: $494

Class of Degree: 2.1 congrats

God's favor and mercy were key for me. Glory to God. I got interviewed by someone I can call a nice man at Window 1. His table had several passports for visas. Na that one been give me small confidence.

Me: Good Morning

V.O: Good Morning, Pass me your I-20 and passport

Me:...

V.O: Typing..... Why are you going to the US?

Me: I'm going to the US for my Masters in Geology and Earth Science at the University of Georgia

V.O: Which other University did you apply to

Me: University of Arizona

V.O: So why UGA?

ME: told him how I was drawn to the research of professor X and named one of his papers that caught my attention and because of my passion for the mineral sector in Nigeria, coupled with the fact, the Mineral Resource discussed in that paper is about 3 Billion Metric tons in Reserve here in Nigeria. That drew me to want to work under Professor X

V.O: Seemed impressed. I can see you have an assistantship and a tuition waiver.

Me: Yes. A Research assistantship

V.O: Will you be working with the same Professor X you talked about earlier?

Me: Yes Sir

V.O: So what are your plans after school?

Me: Upon the completion of my masters, I hope to work as a researcher at XXXX in Nigeria

V.O: what's your intended arrival date?

Me: August 4 (as shown on my DS-160)

V.O: Nodding his head... Have you traveled out of Nigeria?

Me: No

V.O: I will be approving your Visa.

He told me to wait for someone at one of the offices to know about the Pre-departure orientation organized by the consulate for International students going to the USA which is to happen by June

White paper later followed
