And you think KQ has anything retained in their earnings. You're crazy.
I wasn't talking about RE i was specifically asking you why KQ has made a loss every year for the last 7 years

I thought you were an investment analyst - KQ losses are carried forward/booked - and it will be sometime before it get out of the rat hole.
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin They are not carried over mate, profits/losses get booked to Retained Earnings which is represented in the balance sheet as equity!! only balance sheet Items are booked forward!!

Im specifically talking about why Kenyan Airways was making a loss in each of those years as in on the income statement!! I wasn't talking about the retained earnings.

He had Saffa experts stating our education outcomes were wayyyy higher despite per capita spending being a fraction of yours.
This is how we end up endlessly looping the obvious over and over....BORING!
Education Index:

SA: 75th

Kenya: 136th

That's all

P,S I had no beef with Kenya until RVP started spewing nonsense cool

I told you oil futures...done around 2013/2014 - just before the oil crash. KQ hedged fuel - not knowing we were about to see big crash.

KQ first made a huge loss of 260M dollars in 2014 on the account of the oil crash. Previously they had benefited.

t’s worth noting that the airline has in the past made massive profits from hedges. It did not make any losses related to oil hedges between 2012 and 2014.

The management got it right, their hedges worked effectively. The hedges returned a cumulative gain on fuel derivatives of Sh4.07 billion, with Sh2.5 billion realised in 2012 alone.

Hedges turned sour when prices started going south in mid 2014 as a result of increased oil supply from the US and decreased demand as the Chinese economy contracted. No one foresaw the rapid fall in oil prices.
What about 2013,2015,2016.2017.2018,2019 and 2020.....why has Kenyan Airways made a loss in each of those years?

LMFAO, nice try wink. This is not only about capacity. The ANC did build two more stations . I said show me how the power utility was better managed ; profits & maintenance wink. We all know there was no pressure to grid back then, compared to now,I know you keep bringing this obvious fact to the table to evade my management question.
I didn't say it was better managed I simply said there was no blackouts and loadshedding for those that had electricity...........however today's Eskom run by the ANC has had loadshedding since 2007, even you can't deny this

KQ got screwed by Oil futures. I don't blame them. Shareholders put pressure on KQ management to buy oil futures. This was the time Oil was retailing at 140 dollars. I think KQ bought it at that price for like 5yrs. One tragic decision - that has led to monumental losses - and saw once one of world most profitable airline down...but not OUT.
Why has KQ been making a loss since 2013?

Eskom had long been fckd, even before the ANC got into poor. I mentioned your love of misrepresenting & telling half truths to push a certain narrative .now you can keep on arguing with yourself about this .
Depends what you mean by fvcked.........I did say Eskom of pre 94 only supplied electricity to the select few, hence why there was no loadshedding and backouts as the demand was so few......however the ANC knew when they connected the rest of South Africa to the national grid that the grid would need to be upgraded, they never did that and thus we are now stuck with loadshedding.

Now I thought you are done with me? grin grin grin

Kenya doesn't mind lessons and best practises - there are things we surely can do with lessons. Many things we can learn from South Africa - but Eskom and SAA - seems to be sending wrong signals about your country's ANC management of public affairs.

But surely what can IMF colony teachers when they HAVE SOUTH AFRICA LIKE STRUCTURAL ELECTRICITY Issues that have sent it to IMF and they are back at it.

These are idi,ots with 5,000MW installed capacity when can only consume 2,700MW. They are paying 1 billion dollars annual excess capacity charge.

They went bankrupt because of an electricity and currency crisis.

Right now they are going rogue and terminating IPP contracts smiley

Surely surely - the IMF colonly if you remove 1,000 MW meant for Minning Industry - have smaller per capita consumption than Kenya

They are only better than Nigeria - I mean everyone even Somalia is better than Nigeria when it comes to electricity.

Quote this RSA
With capacity that’s almost double the country’s peak demand needs, Ghana’s electricity utility has to pay independent producers about $450m every year for energy that it doesn’t need or use . This adds to the sector’s liabilities, which are the biggest debt threat to a nation that seven months ago completed its 16th bailout programme with the International Monetary Fund.

But it's too important to fail...and if it fails..it will mean nigeria blackouts mess. I think Azania citizens need to sacrifice - you're paying cheaply for electricity - about half a poor kenya - so if you jack it up - Eskom can sort it issues - and you can then fix it ESKOM ITSELF
Hence why for the millionth time Eskom is being restructured and partially privatised.... That's how Eskoms debt will be sorted out.

Maybe the citizens of British East Africa should rather worry about getting to the level of Ghana before comparing with a country several leagues higher cheesy

On ESKOM - why can't ANC just jack up the prices - let South Africa public bail it out - and they can fix their debt issues quickly that way. Seem it's been dying since 2007...and killing south african firms in the process
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin So that's your solution? Mate I already pay tax and a electricity bill at the end of every month........I ain't going to bail out Eskom when the only reason they are in that position is due incompetence and corruption

you probably Google Steyr and realized that what you saw on the internet had striking resemblance with what you posted. You probably don't even know that accessories like scopes and bi-pod stands can be used on most rifles. If you had probably seen that bipod on a gustaf you would obviously have agreed it's a gustaf. You probably don't even know scopes can be mounted on even an ak 47. grin

You people don't have an in-depth knowledge of these things, you only rely on Google and once it has any resemblance, gbam it is it.

I'm pretty sure if I show you an ak 47 with a scope and a bipod stand, you'd waste several hours on Google trying to identify what kind of weapon it is grin. Because you simply don't have the knowledge you won't easily realise it's a mere AK 47.

jl115:
Eskom was fvcked by the ANC administration I will admit that and fvcked in such a way that the only way to fix it is to privatize it. Secondly it is totally absurd to compare Eskom of apartheid and Eskom now as Eskom of apartheid only provided power to the select few, in fact by 1994 only 36% of South Africans had access to electricity......Today over 90% have access to electricity, thus the burden is exponentially higher on Eskom today than during apartheid.
