Just30: Does it operate in Ghana or not ?
The government of Ghana has an arrangement with them where by Ghana government owns a portion of the Company in order for them to open a new mine. 2. Ashanti Goldfields has been in operation since 1880 before merging with AngloGold Is AngloGold South African?
This is the merger document, you can read https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1008136/000120561304000045/merger.htm I literally said they operate in Ghana, also I never disputed that the Ghanaian government can own a portion of the company. I simply stated that paying tax doesn't mean its a Ghanaian company: FYI: "The AngloGold journey began in South Africa in May of 1998, when the gold and uranium mining interests of Anglo American Corporation of South Africa were consolidated. In August 1998, AngloGold became the first South African company to list on the NYSE." https://www.anglogoldashanti.com/company/history/ |

Just30: BMW SA is part of the business environment of SA hence it is a South African company by establishment ` It activity forms part of the SA GDP and not Germany.
Mind you, we are not talking about ownership BMW SA can be considered a SAn company which is majority owned by BMW....... However BMW is not a SAn company.....hence why I would never claim BMW as a SAn company Hence why I said MTN Ghana is a South African owned Ghanaian company however, MTN itself is a South African company same goes for Anglo Gold and Goldfields |

vaxx: For the fact that most of them are merger even sell them out. Ghana and South Africa both owned them. the only stand out South Africa business in Ghana is MTN and that was before, it has now become a public listed property with about 30 percent stake allocated to Ghanaian. that will soon improved as times goes. MTN Ghana and MTN are 2 different companies..... MTN owns the majority share in MTN Ghana...... Ghanaians don't own shares in MTN. |

Just30: The Ghanaian government charge a 50% windfall tax on all mining firms earnings before share holders get to earn and? How does paying tax make it a Ghanaian company..... All companies foreign or local must pay tax in the countries they operate in. |

vaxx: The guy needs a lot of education. so very bad . South Africa business in Ghana are not wholly owned subsidiary. of their parent company, their stocks are partially owned by Ghanaian too. did I say they are wholly owned by the parent company? Or that Ghanaians can't own shares? I actually have shares in McDonald's.... Does that make it a South African company? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by jl115: 11:56am On Apr 30, 2020 |
Just30: if it operates in Ghana, its a Ghanaian based comp
that gives 50% of their earnings to the Ghanaian government it's an external company operating in Ghana. |

Just30: no one said they are not SA owned companies
are they operating in Ghana or not?
The discussion was, companies in Ghana and companies in Kenya.
And i told you for a fact that according to the companies Act A company by establishment is a separate entity from it mother company.
They have their own directors, coo, cfo and etc you said MTN, Anglo gold and goldfields are Ghanaian companies. And? That still doesn't make them a Ghanaian company..... Just like McDonald's isn't a South African company just because they operate in SA. They ask you which Ghanaian companies boasted an X amount of turnover....you then said MTN, AG, and goldfields which are not Ghanaian companies. I don't care if it is a separate entity, it is still owned by the parent company which has majority share and thus in charge of decision making. And? |

Just30: you are yet to prove that subsidiaries becomes SA companies or the result of mergers become SA companies They are South African owned companies secondly you never mentioned the subsidiaries in your post, you just straight up claimed MTN, Anglo Gold and Goldfields are all of a sudden Ghanaian companies. If you said MTN Ghana then no problem(I probably still would of told you that it is SAn owned though ) ..... Also im relatively certain Anglogold and goldfields operate as external Companies in Ghana and dont have subsidiaries there. |

Give up already. Bro if you read farmersweekly you would've read where it says there are 500 000 subsistence farmers in SA... .. Now if we do your calculations then that number would be 2.5 million people.... Thank you and good night |

rvp20182: So the nearly 20M south African living in rural areas - are doing what - apart from the Khoisan hunters and gatherers - that you claimed didn't really the land.
Let me help you. You have 3M peasant farmers. Each peasant farmer has 4 -5 household - and that makes them close to 20m. I don't know mate go ask them!!, Im simply quoting StatsSA, FarmersWeekly,South African Government and New Agriculturist. |

rvp20182: How would that even work - nobody count a household based on occupations - their kids are not peasants - but dependant. So yes we are looking at close to 15M black south african depending on squeezed land - while a few 30K Boers own all the best land. You cannot win that argument. You're wasting time. It like winning apartheid argument. SMH you truly are a fvcking ret@rd!! |

Hence a new company is formed under a different legal regime
so just say you dont know about it
but dont go making baseless argument It is registered as an External company. Otherwise it is a Ghanaian registered subsidiary like MTN Ghana |

rvp20182: You missed the word probably - and I didn't even check - I was just throwing guestimates- I'd say 3M peasant each with a household size of 4-5 is about 12-15M black south Africans squeezed - while a few Boers have the majority of the land. You cannot sustain that argument. It is 3 million people not 3 million households and when one is brutally honest, then you don't guess and suck things from your thumb like you are doing right now!! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by jl115: 8:08pm On Apr 29, 2020 |
Just30: we are talking about the legal meaning of the word Outright
That is what it mean if you say someone is an outright owner according to law.
And i simply told you that by law, 50 plus 1 percent ownership is not an outright ownership.
you can take it from someone who did law or not I was simply stating that when you have more than 50% shareholding in a company then you are the (majority) owner/Parent and control technically the entire decision making process. I wasn't arguing that when you own more than 50% you are now the wholly owner of the company... |

I don't need anybody validation to know I am making sense..these things come naturally with HIGH IQ...it's a gift. Just30: no company can operate in Ghana without registering as a company in Ghana
So when you say it is not a registered company, it makes me want to question your education.
Ashanti Goldfields AngloGold Ashanti are all registered companies in Ghana that pay taxes and Social Security of workers. External companies can and do operate in Ghana and all over the world mate A company doesn't need to be incorporated in Ghana to operate in Ghana......... Also AngloGold Ashanti either has a Ghanaian subsidiary that I don't know about or it is a registered External company. |

Just30: i guess you dont know what more is
it gives you more ownership over the person with a lesser share but it doesn't give you outright ownership
Since the word outright means wholly
do you get it now? So we are taking the the literal dictionary meanings of words now? just going to ignore the context...........Can't remember saying if you own more than 50% that makes you 100% the owner or wholly owner of a company? Simply stated that when you own more than 50% you are the outright(or in context the majority owner). |

rvp20182: You're dealing with desperate folks who have exported all the brains outside. If South African company has more than 50% shareholding of any company in Ghana - it ceases being Ghanian - and become South African- either by acquisition or merger - or as a registered subsidiary. For once you are making sense! Now practice what you preach |
