Perhaps if you take out time to read, the agreements France had with thier colonies pre-independence, you won't be asking this question.

While you're at it, read up on their currency and the post-independence relationship.

British and French colonial governments do not run the same way.

You lot should take out time to read up on things you're ignorant about before making bold claims on the internet.

Thanks.

French colonies, isn't that basic enough?
You don't see British forces in Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia. No Portuguese forces in Mozambique and Angola....And certainly no South African forces in Namibia.

The Fact is they are not French colonies anymore, so what are the French still there for??

1. LM-5
2. LM-6
3.R5

As you can see the stocks look very similar(If not identical) to the ones in service with the SANDF and the civilian variants sold by Denel!!

Anyway you make a very compelling point, If it was able to see the handle i would be able to tell you for sure if its a Galil or R5.

I'll assume it's part of the weapons they get after assaulting installations. I don't think ex-military security would use semis to guard unsafe waters when the pirates are armed with automatics while attacking at high speeds.
fair point, i know denel exported the R4 to Rwanda back in the early nineties as well, so it might not be that difficult to get your hands on one after all!

That's the first thing I often verify. There's a difference, the Galil has a shorter folding stock in comparison to the R5, that pirate was clearly holding an aged R5 (or at least a baldy maintained) .... I don't know if they'll air the program again (People and Power).
Having watch the video i agree its not a Galil.........however i still think its an LM-5 and not an R5, and i say his due to the fact that its much much much easier to acquire a LM5 than an R5! but then again it just as easily can be a R5, there's just no way to tell!!

There's plenty of poor Indians in South Africa, just go to places like Phoenix township and Stanger... The only difference is that they're not as poor as subcontinent Indians.
i was over emphasizing for dramatic effect cool cool but still, percentage wise they have the least amount of people living under the poverty line out of any race in SA!!

me i dont know , u all will know better grin

just one question out of curiosity, do the Indian origin south African people still follow Indian traditions ?

u see my interaction r very limited, not on a personal level, but u all will know better.

anyways i was a great fan of a south african fellow he was a boer (i am not sure i got the name correct.)
in my childhood days i used to see his programs on a TV channel , he was a out door cook.

he used to go on outback tour , sometimes the bushes sometimes the coasts sometimes the game ranges and cook with locally available materials. he traveled all over . it was very nice to see his cooking shows . he used to put beer can inside a raw chicken and marinate it and then set it to roast in an open fire fit . then he used to collect sea shells / clams from the beach and cook them right there. grin

i really enjoyed his shows, but long time back his show stopped from being aired.
Our Indians are a mix bunch some follow traditional beliefs, some are Christian and some are Muslim(Indian decent,Not Pakistani), but one thing they all have in common is their accent.....oh and they all drive GTIs!! grin grin grin grin

Anyway im not familiar with the outdoor cook or show you're talking about unfortunately, and yes it is Boer !! Proudly one myself!

I think Trevor Noah explains South African Indians the best!, skip to 5:00 to hear how South African Indians got their accent :

the ones the british brought are no different from the ones left behind.

maybe it is like a seed which needs conducive environment to grow into a plant grin grin

or say what ! grin u can send a few south africans to india , i am sure they will do well . grin grin grin grin

u see unless people face out of the common difficulties / competition , they dont perform upto their potential.

i know 2 nigerians who r very rich in india, got indianized completely , nobody can guess they r africans . their wives were bindis on their foreheads and take part in all rituals like other ordinary house wives.
Must be something in our water, they even developed their own unique accent, fvck knows where they got it from, definitely wasn't from the Blacks or Afrikaners!!

E-ee, this guy is crazy. why is he complicating just a simple thing like this. Oohh My God, stupidity at its best.

province = state

SA has 9 states/provinces, USA has 52 states/provinces

If you talk of regions, regions can be comprised of 2 or even 4 states/provinces. in SA there is coastal region, consisting of eastern cape, kwazulu natal and western cape, Highveld region, consisting of Gauteng and parts of mpumalanga, Lowveld region consisting of parts of limpopo and mpumalanga.

Gauteng is a state/province, it has 5 cities, Johannesburg 4.4m, Pretoria 2.7m, East Rand 2.5m, Mogale city 1.2m, Vaal 1m.
Depends how you classify cities, I see you took the 5 Metropolitan Municipalities, then again City of Johannesburg municipality consists of Joburg City, Santon, Soweto and Midrand that can all be classified as Cities on their own.

But anyway this isn't the debate....The fact is a Nigerian State= South African Province which you rightly said!!

There is no evidence to show that South-Africans are properly educated. No independent thinking, no evidence of critical reasoning. Having interacted with you people for a couple of years, i see why many Nigerians always feel superior.

Fighterpilot in particular wouldn't even get a job waiting tables in Nigeria, yet he claims to be in the South-African Air Force.
That's funny, because interacting with you bunch, i see why Nigerians flock to South African universities, And i dont blame them, they're probably scared of turning into you fvckers like you and Agubugu.

Nigerian Regions

Nigerian States

All states have 2 or more cities, with Lagos State having the most at 8
Dude i dont get your point: South Africa has nine provinces Gauteng being the Largest has about 9 Cities, North Cape being the smallest has just 1 city, Free-state only has 1 City , Mpumalanga only has 1 City, Limpopo only has 1 city.

Out of our 9 provinces only WC, EC , Natal and Gauteng have more than 2 Cities.

So please explain why your states cannot be compared to our Provinces

It does matter, when you are clearly ignorant and choose to displace that ignorance to the world, embraces not just yourself, but the Nation of South-Africa.

Lagos State has 22 million people

Ogun State has barely 4 million people living there

Calabar a city in Cross Rivers state in the South-South region has barely 800,000 people

Enugu city in Enugu state the South-East has under 1 million people.

Population draw all boils down to commerce
Gauteng has a population of 12 million

Free state has a population of about 2,7 million, Capital City: Bloemfontein Pop: 250 000

Northern cape has a population of 1 million, Capital City : Kimberly pop:230 000

All of these are Provinces!! with Cities within them.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by jl115: 12:02am On Jan 21, 2016
Henry240:
It is an equivalent to regions in Nigeria. There are 6 regions in Nigeria, with 6 states in each region. Lagos State is in the South-West region.

Next time apply some common sense.
Doesn't matter in terms of population size, your States can be compared to our Provinces.

The Eagle Mobile Central Command Post is a vehicle mounted with various Information Communication and Technology equipment. This on board equipment gives the Theatre Commander the opportunity to have first hand information of the battle space. From the vehicle the commander has access to both ground troops and air assets within the battle space.

The Eagle Mobile Central Command Post was borne is a mobile Central Command Post that is designed to link up with the troops in the field, as well as the command hierarchy.

With this, the President, Commander-in-Chief, Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs can have real time contact with the troops in the field. Added to this, the Eagle Mobile Central Command Post affords close monitoring of the activities of the troops and passage of real time information from strategic level to operational and tactical levels.

Furthermore, the platform affords the Chief of Air Staff on the move to have a look at the performance of surveillance or reconnaissance aircrafts.

The project is designed as constructed by Major General C T Olukoju of the Nigerian Army.

http://www.nationalhelm.com/2016/01/photos-checkout-treasured-mobile.html

According to your envious and errornous ranting , the above explained Eagle system that links and manages real time data and visuals of an entire battle space the size of Scotland to a single vehicle command and control centre for coordinating a 30,000 man fully mechanized army plus a 100 aircraft air force is not a net-centric warfare system.

People like you are the ones destroying Africa with deliberate falsehood. Pity you, just pity you. Africa needs better people
.
Ignoring the rest of your B.S post I'll like to come to the bolded part.

You are very quick to call someone a liar, or claiming they deliberately spread falshood.

Yet since I've been on this thread (which is just a little over a year) you've been an Accountant/Finance Manager and a Military researcher, you've permanently worked in Nigeria, then all of a sudden you are permanently based in America, you've also claimed you work for an American accounting firm , but now all of a sudden you work for a pmc?? You have also Aged backwards, by first claiming you are an old man, when I first joined the thread to claiming that Patches689 was old enough to be your uncle.

You have rubbished the claims that Patches689 works/worked in S-Korea even after he showed you undisputable photographic evidence, But when we ask for proof that you indeed live in the US, you are unable to produce even a shred of evidence.

You also continually claim that you are not Augustine from beegeagle blog, yet there are posts that are identical on beegeagle than the ones on NL!! You also share the same name, have the same interests(military) and write in the same way.

Thus remove the log in your eye before trying to remove a splinter in anothers eye!!

SF and SOF mean the same thing all over the world apart from the USA where it is used to mean different types of commandos in different US armed forces. Special Forces and Special Operarion Forces mean the same thing in other countries around the world and SF is the universal language used for these commandos.

What I think the world should be redefinig is SF trained for conventional warfare and SF trained for CT-COIN.
According to the rest of the world and your colleague @Henry240 they mean 2 different things.
