rvp2018: Explain this tiny image that is barely visible. I think South Africa will be where it is in 10yrs. Medium term projection is 0-1% growth for next 5yrs. That takes us to 2028. I don't see anything that will radically change. In fact, these days South Africa celebrate 1.5% growth - like this year - with record export earnings from all the minerals. South Africa been sick economically since 2010 together with Nigeria. You're likely to regress further than grow - now you have eskom , record unemployment, crime continues to get out of hand.
Kenya GDP will likely triple from 120 to 360B like it has done the last decade. I dont see why not. Kenya pulled 7.5% recovery from covid last year and will accelerate this year by 6.5% despite being tough year - of drought & election- (already 1st half we had 6% growth) https://www.worldbank.org/en/news/press-release/2022/12/08/kenya-s-economic-recovery-remains-strong-although-slowed-by-drought-and-inflation
And next year 2023 I see growth charging forward. read the bolded: jl115: it's all I need bru... We talking pwc not some anonymous e warrior named rvp2018
Just show me one.... I literally mean just one projection from a credible institution that puts Kenya ahead of SA before 2080 FYI it was 1.6% for the quarter not tge year... Learn to understand simple economic terms... Year on year growth is 4. 1% |

rvp20182: You twist and turn like a trapped animal that you find in your hunting escapades instead of accepting stubborn facts. 2013 - Kenya had GDP of 40B. 2023 - Keny has GDP of almost 120B.
10yrs ago - South Africa was 400B - now it 400BN - round off.
Kenya has grown 3 times in a decade; South Africa stuck in middle class trap or rut ;
Conclusion : Ceteris Paribus as Latin would say next 10yrs.
kenya will be 360b - South Africa 400B.
The rest are really details.
The dollar is not unfair to South Africa - South Africa is stuck at best going down at worse. just stfu with your "thumb suck" nonsense and till me where is Kenya in 2050?

Shma2022: I asked you a simple question, which 17 wins are you talking about.?
Forget about shifting goalposts.
It's ironic since you're the one constantly shifting goalposts. I corner you on this, you secretly jump to the next topic without conceding the previous defeat. - you have amnesia? Here refresh you memory after you asked me the same question 2 days ago: jl115: Muppet............ John Kriek won 2 Australian opens, Kevin Curren won 4 doubles grand slams, Frew Mcmillan, won 5 doubles grand slam titles , Sandra Reynolds won 5 grand slam doubles titles , Danie Visser 3 doubles grand slam titles.
Then Kevin Anderson and Wayne Ferreira make your blokes record look like childs play Then liezel Huber also won 2 while representing SA Also now its about flags all of a sudden... Fvcking ridiculous bru ..... But I'll end on this as well if you want |

rvp20182: Again you're resorting to insults to cover you lack of content.
Let us have civilized debate hunter and gatherer. This is not the wild.
I use official data - and I am aware of official census data including projection.
Avoid those websites when you have official dat or me - I know most the data inside out.
Kenya population was 47.5M in 2019. It's now projected to be about 51M. South Africa projected to be roughly 61M.
The crappy site you pasted projected kenya population to be 52M in 2019.
Kenya spend more than 200M dollars to count it people and said they are 47.3M. This is not guesswork. This is census
Kenya is adding roughly a million and few thousands every year - roughly a million if you minus deaths - so 2029 - next cenus - it likely to be 55-56m. South Africa likely to be maybe 65M.
That 10 million gap looks less and less likely to be bridge. Uganda will certainly overtake kenya soon - and race ahead - because they are breeding like rats. my bru even if we take the 51 million you speak of, your growth rate is still substantially higher than ours....you still overtaking us in about a decade my friend.... As for the bolded.... I'm the only one that actually cited my sources, so please stop with "I use official sources" |

rvp2018: Why dont you ask for evidence instead of becoming combative?
The facts are overwhelming - you're just blinded folded by dogma.
1) Let starts with population - South Africa still 10 million ahead - and kenya might actually not overtake it. Kenya demographic had an inflection point somewhere in 2016. This we noted first in National Household Survey which was confirmed by census in 2019.
The largest population was 10-15 - now they should be the 15-20 - and from there next cohort are becoming less and less - another 10yrs - these 15-20 - will be 25-30 - then another 10yrs - mid 2035 - we would have hit demographic jackpot - so to speak
1) Image No 1: General demographic transition model 2) Image No 2: Kenya census 2019 - please pay attention to red circle I drew. That is kenya demographic Inflection point - subsequently you see less and less kids compared to next cohort. 3) Image No 3: Botswana - upper middle class country like South Africa - showing their demographic transition 4) Image no 4: SSA versus South Asia - showing the difference in population structure.
So basically Bru I swear you just post random bullsh1t to justify your ret@rdedness Next time just google population projections: South Africa 2022: 61.1 million Kenya 2022: 56.6 million South Africa 2030: 65.9 million Kenya 2030: 66.4 million South Africa 2050: 75.5 million Kenya 2050: 91.5 million https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/south-africa-population/https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/kenya-population/#:~:text=The%20current%20population%20of%20Kenya,the%20latest%20United%20Nations%20data. |

Common sense! you can't be a Kenyan citizen playing for Kenya and your scores go to USA.. It's illogical.
You don't need world bank, IMF, ITF, or world Tennis federation to inflict such a basic sense. he only became a US citizen after 82....however even if we play your game and say Kriek is somehow American and all his majors must go to America that still means we have 17 major wins vs your 0....... |

rvp2018: We are not bankrupt, we are growing rapidly, and we are overtaking south africa in a decade to become SSA biggest economy. What exactly is our problem?
Most analysts predict kenya will enter leapfrog phase in about 5-10yrs because we have nailed demographics (we stopped breeding & are 5yrs from having more adults than kids) - macro economics are solid - and have nailed basic infrastructure. every time you spew this tripe you just get dumber in my book..... There is 0 evidence that even remotely suggests this.... In fact the GDP gap between SA and Kenya has widened considerably since 2020. Yes eventually Kenya will overtake SA however that will solely be down to population growth and will only happen near the end of this century |

Shma2022: You sound ignorant, my G.
Application for US citizenship takes more or less two whopping years to be approved. The naturalization processing time, from the time you file your citizenship application to when you attend the Oath of Allegiance ceremony, is currently between 18.5 and 24 months .
Here is the major point: You don't hold US citizenship in the comfort of other nations. You need to have stayed in America for at least 5 yrs, or 3 yrs green card holding if you have a couple in USA for you be legible for citizenship application. Then plus 2years to process the citizenship --- meaning, you need at least 7yrs to 5yrs active stay in USA to win the chance to apply for citizenship.
The guy you're talking about got his citizenship in 1982... And he won grand slam opens in 1981 -1982.Do you think he was playing for south Africa while waiting for his citizenship to be approved? yes he was!! Kenya we are enjoying power 24hrs a day it's easy to have 24hour electricity when only 70odd % of your population is connected to the grid and you are totally none industrialised like Kenya |

rvp2018: You producer power you need to dig 10kms into the earth crust looking for gold. Maybe you need to give up on gold pursuit - and supply citizens with critical basic power package like kenya. Only 20 companies mainly involved in minning consume what 80% of that power. We dont need all that. We have more than enough power than we need. We have excess power we can sell to you.
Now you can't mine or put the lights on - without running a diesel generator - sounds like the start of Nigeria.
The economy is also characterised by a small number of industrial concerns consuming almost half of the electricity. Most of them are members of The Energy Intensive User Group (EIUG). Its 31 members account for 44% of all electricity consumed in South Africa but, collectively, they also have a collective annual turnover of R741 billion, more than 20% of South Africa’s GDP and employ nearly 600,000 South Africans. Almost half the EIUG’s members are in mining and a third are manufacturing concerns. Usually I'd day Google is your friend, however for you it isn't, mining only consumes 14% of the electricity in South Africa... Pretty consistent with its gdp contribution.... Manufacturing make up 46% of the electricity consumption, residential 17% and commercial 13%...... Just our residential power usage is 4 times your entire grid |

rvp2018: Since 1999 - IPPs - Independent power producer came in - kenyans always pay forex charge on their electricity. IPPs signed agreement to provide us power for 30yrs - and those who import oil/thermal - have forex charge on them. KPLC have to buy dollars - and Kenya banks are making a kill from forex - so it make sense if they can charge source for own cheaper forex.
We are okay - because we dont have rolling power cuts like South africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbwabwe - who are all struggling for non-investment in the sector and dependence entirely on hydro or coal - or of course being totally rudderless like Nigeria. once you produce just 5% the electricity we generate then we'll talk |
