Also you've forgotten our earlier convo about the dimensions of the 7.62x51 making it heavier and hence soldiers packing less rounds even compared to the 7.62x39.

In today's modern battlefield where point of contact is 400meters and less, why carry a magazine that has less bullet yet more heavier? Especially when they have the same penetration power

The thing is even demonstrated for you to see as well as a ballistic report provided which shows why the 5.56 is dangerous.

Any bullet that penetrates the body is less lethal to humans than say a bullet that tumbles several times in it or explodes on impact in the body.

The chances of surviving a 7.62 is greater than surviving a 5.56

All depended on ammunition, I guarantee a hollow point 7.62 will do way more damage than a hollow point 5.56.

Its been researched several times and soldiers will confess that 7.62 has way more stopping power.

Personally I can also tell you that 7.62 has more stopping power than 5.56 since I've hunted with 223, 3006 and 308.

what you don't get is that 5.56 cause more damage on impact with soft contacts (human body) while the 7.62 impact on soft tissues is less because it penetrates.

The very reason why majority of the US military decide to use 5.56 over the 7.62 is because, the 7.62 put a soldier at a disadvantage.

While each soldier can carry 250 to 400 bullets of the 5.56mm, a soldier can only carry 100 bullets of the 7.62 because of how heavier it is.

You really don't want to be at a disadvantage like that on the war front. The US military adopted the 7.62 in 1954 and soon came to realize this disadvantage and decided to switch back to the 5.56mm which they have used for the last 60 years.

This is just like how they wanted to use the FN Fal as their main infantry weapon only to realize it disadvantage and switched quickly back to the M4 and M16.

The M16 is just irreplaceable and it's legendary

there are advantages to both but 5.56 100% does not cause more damage thsn 7.62
