Mkenya2019: I dont know - I know at one point you were forcing South African to learn in Afrikaan. I would abolish such - and replace with neutral language - like English
nobody is forcing anybody to learn in Afrikaans.....all universities offer English as a language of instruction where as there was only a handful that offered Afrikaans as a language of instruction as well......the constitution of SA protects the right to be educated in one's mother tongue
Mkenya2019: It simply mean to review entire school curriculum from nursery to university - remove any racial or apartheid subtext - and replace with objective if not majority view of south african - that a few boers invaded and colonized their country. It's not Malema business to teach South Africans about their history and struggle - it's the teachers job
QUICK GOOLGE...
The starting point of decolonizing the curriculum is in the schools and classrooms that I regard as the formal education laboratories for equity and social justice in a just society. Unfortunately, many South African public schools’ curricula are not yet decolonized and thus continue to perpetuate the preparation of learners for leading western lives in a continent that is not western by nature. The South African school curriculum does little to address decolonization for equity and social justice in the South African public schools.

like what in our curriculum has racial or apartheid subtext? And what exactly in our curriculum perpetuates Western living?
TMKsouth: That's democratic progress indeed . I now remember the annulment of the last elections, almost forgot.
As for African education, #RhodesMustFall.and #FeesMust Fall called for the decolonization of SA education - I don't know how much things have changed since.
Yeah, I noticed most people were pretty offended by Malawi's lack of knowledge regarding Kenya . Those same people also didn't mention SA much when asked about their ideal African country unlike with Zimbabweans where SA declared a whitewash
Mkenya2019: You're latching on to some random wild projection while your own treasury release medium term projections regularly.
http://www.treasury.gov.za/documents/mtbps/2021/speech/speech.pdf In the first half of 2021, the South African economy recovered more quickly than expected, reflecting less stringent COVID-19 restrictions, along with lower interest rates, support from strong international demand and higher commodity prices. We now expect the South African economy to grow by 5.1 per cent in 2021, from a 6.4 per cent contraction in 2020. Over the next three years the growth of the local economy is expected to average 1.7 per cent, reflecting some structural weaknesses such as inadequate electricity supply.
The long-term decline in South Africa’s GDP growth rate (Figure 1.1) is the result of structural weaknesses in the economy – including poor education outcomes – and external shocks . Weak growth is compounded by the rapid increase in public debt (Figure 1.2), which has raised borrowing costs across the economy. Faster economic growth requires determined implementation of policy reforms to promote confidence, investment, competitiveness, entrepreneurship and job creation.
Mkenya2019: Medium term prognosis - economic growth of 1 percent if not -ve percent. The last15ys almost - nothing will change significantly - in RSA As for Kenya the medium term prognosis is great - 6-8 percent growth - and GDP will probably triple by 2030 - reachin South Africa current levels. Kenya is going to close it's infrastructure deficit. Kenya is growing to urbanize - I think now one fastest urbanization rates - at around 4% annually. Kenya is demographically transitioning - as population control has now bore fruits.
RiceProducers: Nigeria won't buy the sanctions vulnerable Turkish helicopter or the untidily developed Indian Chopper that cannot be supported with enough spares and maintenance. They will use a phantom airbus chopper acquisition to flash the Americans. Eventually they will buy US made AH1Zs
If only Denel had its act together..... The Rooivalk mk2 would have been an African helicopter built for African problems
kabe1: Another day, another Nigeria Helicopter purchase news.
Turkish Aerospace, Airbus and HAL vie for attack helicopter contract The Nigerian Air Force, which is looking for attack helicopters to boost its firepower, is currently conducting negotiations with the European manufacturer Airbus and India's HAL. But the Turkish TAI, solidly supported by Ankara, has a head start with its T-129 model.
Roan77: Understandable, but I think there is diversification of weapons by the Egyptians recently, they are no longer relying heavily on American weapons, although still depends on American military aids but I understand your point. I rate the Algerian military too.
they rely heavily on The US and Middle East for defence aid.....without the billions of dollars of aid they get they would be fvcked.
Kazakhstan Completes 4-Year Trial of Barys 8×8 Combat Vehicle
Dubbed the Barys, the military vehicle showed off its capabilities in the mountainous terrain of Southern Kazakhstan. It traveled a total distance of 25,000 kilometers (15,534 miles), ending in Mangistau, near the Caspian Sea.
The Barys displayed its ability to operate amid adverse weather conditions, withstanding temperatures between 45 and -60 degrees Celsius during summer and winter trials.
mtisQ: just say ya jealous coz Kenya is about to match the Boer driven economy ...Bythe way jl115, heard that white Boers are being employed as farm workers in U.S..they are replacing blacks an folks aint happy about it
when Kenya matches Joburg then will talk
As for the rest.... Boere ain't replacing black farm workers in the US... Don't know where you got that info from.... However what is true is that a lot of younger Boere do go to the US to work on farms there for 6-9 months a year, its cheaper for US farmers since there is no minimum wage requirements and Boere for the most part already have enough experience and its still good money and for young oaks going over, personally I know at least 4 friends currently working on farms in the US.
mtisQ: whats your problem Boer...if ya love Accra good for you but stop comparing Nai bae with small towns
naahhh I'm not saying Accra is better than Nairobi.... Although in terms of QOL it is... But the actual point I was making is that size is not a measure of development
