Hypocrite Nigerian Muslims here supporting Palestine but would turn a blind eye to all the genocide being perpetrated by Islamic fundamentalists in Northern Nigeria and other parts of the country. I witnessed terrorist attacks in Jos for about 5years and that is why I advocate for total annihilation of all Islamic terrorists! #GoIsrael |
Israel must go ruthless to destroy every terrorist group threatening their existence. Be it Hamas, Hezebolar, Palestine, Iran etc. They must all be destroyed so the world can have peace. #KillAllTerrorists |
That's a fair tax and the intent is genuine. I don't support the idea of leaving a corpse in the morgue for so long. If it's about funds, bury the corpse and do the burial ceremony later. |
Death of young people like this is so painful! Yesterday was that actor's daughter, and today this. May their souls rest in peace....Amen |
Nigerian judiciary is a major problem we have in this country. No independence, just some bunch of puppets in the hands of politicians! No wonder Nigeria has been so messed up that every sane mind is leaving the country! Quite unfortunate. |
Assistant conmen |
NoIgboSoundTueh:You must be a terrorist who's excited over the attacks on Israel. But don't come here and type #FreeIran when Israel retaliates the missile attacks. |
nairalanda1:It's not just a problem of funding but that of accountability! With the current rate of corruption in the country, taxed funds would still be looted and the problem persists. What Nigeria needs now is a total change of mindsets! People need to prioritize societal building and general well-being over self aggrandizement. Those who GENUINELY add values to the society through creative innovations would then be rewarded NATURALLY with wealth! Not the current state of affairs where everybody is on a rat race to acquire money by hook or crook. To make the above possible, we need leaders with the right MINDSET, who would make laws and NOT BY THEMSELVES SABOTAGE SAME LAWS. Who would be satisfied with what the law stipulates as remuneration for the offices they're occupying and not indulge in corruptly enriching themselves. Leaders who would prioritize merit over nepotism and political connections. Leaders who are ready to allow the law take its course no matter whose ox is gored! While I agree that taxing is an essential part of governance, without the above being in place, it'll be exercise in futility to increase taxing because the monies realized would be looted while Nigerians perish in suffering. |
Auxtan:Yeah |
He's a local scammer! He called someone I know few weeks ago with the same tale by moonlight. Ignore the fool! |
Geovanni412:It is very possible. People just need to start having the right mindset. They need to start thinking about building a better society for all because having a better society would benefit everyone on the long run than just having some ill-gotten wealth. If people focus on building a decent society for all it'll curtail the rate at which they indulge in selfish quest for money by hook or crook which is what breeds corruption in Nigeria. |
iLegendd:And how did you know I'm not working from my end to better my field I know that just like in other fields, the pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria is suffering her share of the corruption but I am definitely not encouraging that we allow corruption to thrive in the industry, instead I'm doing alot of work at my end to put things right and I'm sure if every player in the industry have same mindset as I have, we would get rid of corruption in the industry very soon. |
iLegendd:You must be magical to have known that I'm not doing things to make money for myself. FYI, I'm a healthcare professional and I'm making more contributions to society than you, while equally being rewarded financially for what I do. But the problem is not with making money to sort my individual needs! The problem is that corruption of any kind creates a dysfunctional society which rubs off on everybody no matter how much money you have. How do some of you reason sef One of the reasons why Nigeria is in this messed up state is the fact that we write fantastic laws only for the sake of writing them while these laws are applied selectively against the poor masses. The political class and moneybags find ways to evade these laws and the consequence is that Nigeria has become a LAWLESS country which everybody is now suffering in one way or the other. The point I'm trying to make is that HAVING MONEY DOES NOT SHIELD YOU FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF CREATING A LAWLESS AND CORRUPT COUNTRY. Everybody suffers at the end of the day! Take for instance; 1. Many rich men in my village no longer freely travel to the village for fear of being kidnapped. This is because the kidnapping business is thriving since kidnappers are highly connected and can use money to buy their freedom even when caught. 2. Corruption has rendered our healthcare system comatose because monies meant to put things in order are being diverted by CMDs of hospitals who also sell job slots to highest bidder in a bid to make money. Now, imagine you that is a moneybag being rushed during an emergency to one of these hospitals and basic lifesaving stuff are not available or a quack doctor who bribed his way to the hospital is the one on duty and could not do much to help you. You'll agree with me that it'll take divine intervention for you to survive under such condition. So, can you now see from the above examples that no one escapes the consequences of corruption on the long run no matter their economic class ![]() |
You're not making sense in your thinking. With corruption thriving in the country, there can never be equal distribution of wealth! It'll only continue to drive the country into deeper mess. Killing, kidnapping and all kinds of evil would become rampant. Our unborn generations would so curse this generation as their lives would be in deep mess |
senatordave1:You're not in tune with reality. Edo election was rigged for APC. The election yesterday in Rivers says otherwise |
ozo13:Obaseki wasn't on the ballot. Edo election was manipulated in favor of APC as indicated by INEC's IREV. |
ozo13:I'm aware that election rigging has been with us since return to democracy. I cited the two in my post because they're among the most recent. |
MT:Yesterday's LG election was in tune with the desires of the people of Rivers state. If the election is conducted over and over again, the outcome would still be same. Every reasonable indigene of Rivers state is tired of the man Nyesom Wike and his overbearing attitude. So, don't associate yesterday's election with rigging. The rigging you should talking about are the type that foisted Tinubu on Nigerians and the latest charade of an election that took place in Edo state. If you are referring to those ones, then I'll agree with you that our democracy is being threatened by election rigging perpetrated by APC and supported by their urchins. |
ozo13:You think Rivers people would fold their hands and watch APC rig the state like they did in Edo?Any attempt by APC to rig Rivers state would be met by devastating violent resistance from Niger delta militants supported by the people of Rivers state. Kudos to Sim Fubara for cutting Wike to size! Humiliating Wike was long overdue and has just begun with this humbling defeat by Fubara. Wike is about to go into political oblivion because by the time they are done dealing with him in Rivers state, he'll become so irrelevant that no serious political party would want him. Even APC knows that he's a persona non grata due to his domineering and controversial style of politics. They know that if he is allowed into APC, he'll scatter the party for his selfish interests. |
I like the way Peter Obi is ignoring fools like Okonkwo, Mumukri and co who're clearly political jobbers looking for every means to stay relevant and eat from the national cake. Peter Obi is the Messiah this country needs to salvage her from years of misrule by selfish politicians. |
I like the fact that Fubara is cutting Wike to size. That man was already assuming the status of a demigod! No single man should be more powerful than everyone. Congrats to the APP chairmen elect! Congrats to His Excellency Governor Siminalayi Fubara! Congrats to the people of Rivers state!! |
richmond500:And the worst for him is that even APC will be very wary of him because of his domineering and controversial nature. So he'll be used more like a thug in 2027 and be dumped after elections without a party. What a shame! |
xtianchris:Bless you too bro |
xtianchris:You're right. |
You're right op. I've always said that no wealthy person in Nigeria can boldly place his hand on his money and swear that he made the money legitimately. Check many of the civil servants who work with Nigeria agencies like former NEPA, NNPC, NITEL, CBN etc and are multimillionaires today, they never made such money by merely earning salaries. It's always one corrupt deal or another. That's why no government agency in Nigeria is working! Also, check the business men. Those ones are even worse! Selling fake items, acting as moles to drug barons or other criminal syndicates, being used for money laundering by politicians, getting involved in diabolical practices to outperforms their competitors etc My problem is that when they make money through dubious means, they'll come to churches/mosques and form saints. The equally corrupt religious leaders would take their own cuts of the ill-gotten wealth while the thieves are presented to us as saints whose life we should emulate. And if you see where such people are speaking against crimes and corruption ehn, you'll think they're saints. |
flokii:The problem isn't even so much with bride price as it is with their entitlement mentality which makes them believe that their men must provide all their insatiable needs for material comfort |
flokii:You never see anything sef. More Igbo guys are cueing up to marry foreign women from Europe, America and Asia. The trend will continue because Igbo ladies are getting greedier and more entitled with every passing day, thus making our men uninterested in them. |
Reno Mumukri must think that we're all kids that he can play with their intelligence. We all know your motives oga, you're trying hard to be in the good book of president Tinubu so that he could possibly settle you with an appointment. You're not concerned about any reforms. It's about your selfish interest! |
id4sho:Just imagine that! But I think it's actually men who give them that entitlement mentality. In the olden days, men held ace in work places while women took care of the house. Things worked perfectly then and everybody saw and understood why men should provide for the family. But now that civilization has changed the status quo and both gender now have equal opportunities to work and earn money, the same gender that push for women's financial empowerment still want men to provide for them. This is why I support some men nowadays who insist on 50:50 financial contributions with their wives. Provided the woman is educated and working, financial contribution in the house should be equal. As people continue to advocate for female gender education and empowerment, they should also erase the entitlement mentality from the women's mindset, otherwise, more women would remain unmarried and the family system would be destroyed. Men are not slaves to women! |
Ezyp:I guess the 'real purpose'of being a man is to slave your life away for women and when you die they live to enjoy your wealth and those of your children? I wonder who made that the 'real purpose ' of being a man! Maybe some mind-controlling religious books. |
Omenlon:All the ones Wike negotiated, did he keep to them Is he a baby in Nigerian politics?? He wants to be in Abuja and also run political affairs of Rivers state! That's selfishness at its peak and God Almighty abhors such level of selfishness. |
pocohantas:But take my advice and get yourself a real husband and not sugar daddies! I know why I'm advising you now. Bye too |
