Bukky, a 200-level student of the Tai-Solarin University of Education (TASUED) who was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend, is alive and currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Ekohotblog.com recall that the victim’s boyfriend identified as Daniel Johnson Anuoluwapo, a 400-level student of same institution, fled after stabbing Bukky.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, October 11,2020 in their shared apartment in Abapawa, ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that he will be meeting with the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

The meeting is connected with the ongoing #EndSARS campaign going on both online and offline.

Davido, in a tweet on Sunday night, pleaded with his colleagues to join him in the IGP’s office.

“I am meeting with the Inspector-General of Police tomorrow at 10 am. “All my colleagues if you can get to Abuja tomorrow before 10 am and follow me to the meeting! It would mean a lot,” he wrote.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has said that organizers of Saturday’s End SARS protest, who were arrested by the police, have been released.

The Ogun Police Command had earlier confirmed that 23 persons were arrested on Saturday when the protest which was meant to be peaceful turned violent.

The spokesman of the Ogun Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said some of the youths were apprehended as three guns, rounds of ammunition and assorted charms were discovered in one of their cars.

But, Gov Abiodun, while giving update on Sunday confirmed that the detained protest organizers have been set free.

An activist, Aisha Yesufu, has accused President Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo of authorizing the police to shoot at protested in Abuja.

The lady, Aisha confirmed that the police shot at her and other End SARS protesters in Abuja via the micro blogging app, Twitter on Sunday.



According to Aisha she escaped by whiskers, noting that she thought she would have been dead by now.

She wrote, “I still can’t believe I am neither dead nor in the hospital. Every step I took yesterday walking away as men of @PoliceNG shot at me, I braced myself for the moment of impact.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has cautioned security operatives, including policemen on election duty to be professional.

The force spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, in a statement titled: ‘Ondo Poll: IG Cautions Politicians against Violence,’ stated that Adamu warned politicians against actions and utterances that could be inimical to a free, fair and credible election.

Adamu warned that the full weight of the law would be meted out to anyone who engaged in any electoral fraud, including violence, vote-buying, ballot box snatching, hate speeches and other unwholesome practices capable of undermining the peace and stability of the electoral process.

Mba said the IG also assured the people of Ondo State of adequate security measures during the exercise. He reiterated that adequate deployments in terms of manpower, marine and aerial surveillance and other assets of the force had been made to ensure effective security coverage.

He enjoined all eligible voters to come out en mass to freely and peacefully exercise their franchise in line with their civic obligation, “without any fear of intimidation on the day of the election.”

The statement further said, “The IG has charged all police officers and other law enforcement agents deployed for the election to act in accordance with the Electoral Act and other extant laws guiding their overall conduct before, during and after the elections.

“He warns that police officers and officers of other law enforcement agencies found acting contrary to their oaths of office or in aid of illicit electoral practices will be strictly and personally held liable with dire legal consequences.”

A 21-year-old Nigerian man, Nonso Umeadi Oyiboka, has been arrested by the police for stabbing his landlord to death, after he complained about the number of ladies he brings home.

The incident happened at Ogidi Ani-Etiti in Idemili North LGA of Anambra state. According to reports the suspect, Nonso Umeadi Oyiboka, has stabbed his 35-year-old landlord to death after a short quarrel.

The Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed, in a statement said, Nonso Umeadi Oyiboka, was arrested on Tuesday, October 6, following a report of alleged murder of his landlord.

The victim, who was stabbed multiple times on his back, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Commissioner of Police, CP John B. Abang, has ordered for the case to be transferred to the State Criminal investigation department (CID) for discreet investigation after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militia have reportedly killed one Rev. Yohanna Abashiya in Kaduna and kidnapped his daughter.

The incident took place on October 1, in Agui, Maraban Rido in Chikun Local Government Area.

The deceased was the resident pastor of Baptist Church in the community.

Two soldiers have reportedly beaten the hell out of two Police Officers who was caught harassing a young man in Ikorudu, Lagos.

The officers ran out of luck yesterday with Army Officers after they couldn’t give a reasonable account of what the young man had done to warrant the harassment.

Festus Keyamo has revealed that young boy shot by Sars officers yesterday in Ughelli in Delta State is alive.

He disclosed this via his Twitter page today following the tension in Ughelli between the residents and SARS Operatives.

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, has told President Muhammadu Buhari that the people in his state are living in hell, following the collapse of two bridges along the Minna-Bida road and Bida-Wushishi-Zugeru road.

Bello met with Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Friday. Speaking to State House Correspondents afterwards, the Governor noted that the poor state of federal roads has made life difficult for commuters and is threatening to cut them off from the rest of the country.

He also lamented that floods have destroyed acres of crops, particularly sugar plantations.

According to Bello, “something needs to be done immediately to provide alternative routes” and he hopes to be able “to get some quick intervention from the Federal Government so that we can support our local farmers that have lost their livelihood due to floods.”

Asked about the President’s response to his request, Bello said, “The President believes more in action, he doesn’t talk too much.

I think from his countenance I can say that he felt bad especially for Niger State. We are shouldering all the weight, every cargo from South West passes through Minna specifically.

“I think he has an idea, he probably will not know everything but he has an idea what we are going through at the moment.   “At the moment we are going through hell in Niger State. So I believe something will be done.”

Sokoto Man has gone viral after embarking  on a One-man protest over increasing hardship in Nigeria yesterday on October 1, 2020. Ekohotblog.com recall that yesterday, October 1 the country celebrated the history of Nigeria’s origin.

The man seized the moment to also cry out over the economic situation, carrying placards with inscriptions calling on the government to work.

According to Sahara Reporters, the man said he embarked on the protest on independence day to call on the attention of the presidency towards to current deteriorating level of hardship in the country.

In his words, he said,“I’m protesting because of the prince of fuel which has been increased and hike in electricity tariff.

On the 30th of September 2020, 201 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria, The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Till date, 58848 cases have been confirmed, 50358 cases have been discharged and 1112 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 201 new cases are reported from 13 states- Lagos (77), Rivers (37), Plateau (25), FCT (13), Kaduna (12), Ogun (12), Adamawa (, Taraba (7), Imo (4), Kwara (2), Osun (2), Abia (1), Oyo (1).

A middle-aged man identified as Akpan commits suicide after shooting his wife to death over allegation of infidelity.

The incident happened over the weekend in Bashua area of Boki Local Government Area in the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State.

Ekohotblog.com learned that the man and his wife were indigenes of Akwa Ibom State sojourned to do farm work. A reliable source identified as Ejue said the couple have five boys before the ugly incident.

A missing 14-year-old girl has now been found in her 35yr-old boyfriend’s house. A lady identified as pejumadey shared the controversial post via the microblogging site, Twitter.

In what she wrote on her media page, Peju said the girl was declared missing by her parents for many days only to be found on the same street where she went missing with a 35yr-old boyfriend.

A 26-year-old man, Chisom Ogum is currently cooling off at the Anambra State police station for allegedly killing his biological father.

Information reaching our correspondent confirms that after Chisom succeeded in killing his father with a shovel, he went ahead to bury him in a shallow grave in Orumba south Local government area, Anambra State.

The news was confirmed by the force via the Anambra State Police Command official Facebook page.

Three Nigerian men have been declared the first people in Irish history to be charged over alleged romance scam.

The three Nigerian charged over alleged cyber crime were, Rasak Sanni Sadu, Omawale Olamide Owalabi and Samson Ajayi. According to reports, they were arrested by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau in Dublin, Navan and Drogheda, as part of Operation Engulf.

They were however taken for investigation before being charged to Dublin District Court on September 20, The three Nigerian suspects were arrested after the victim, a Dublin woman laid a complain to the cops, recounting how she was extorted of some large amount of money.

According to her complains, she spent alot of money on investment after meeting the suspect on a dating application.

Missing student of Osun State Polytechnic, Festus Adedoyin Ewejobi has been found dead in his apartment. The victim was declared missing on Tuesday, September 15.

After a thorough search was carried out, he was found dead with his body mutilated in his apartment in Iree, on Saturday, September 19, residents reported.

A reliable source said,“We initially thought that the deceased was out of town when he was not seen or sighted in the neighbourhood for about four days.

But we became worried because he would always leave a clue as to his whereabouts whenever he was going out. Hence, we raised the alarm when his whereabouts were unknown.

Our worries about his safety heightened when we perceived a stench coming from his room. We forced our way into his room only to find his mutilated body.

We reported the matter to the police divisional headquarters in the community and men of the station invited local government officials to evacuate the body.

Family members of the deceased have also been contacted. From the look of things, his assailants probably trailed him to his room and killed him with a machete.’’ The spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the report. According to Opalola, one Opeyemi Adeshina, a student of Osun State Polytechnic, reported to the police station in the community.

The election is taking place in eighteen (18) Local Government Areas (LGAs) and one hundred and ninety-two (192) wards in the state.

Local government areas where the election is taking place are: Akoko Edo with 115,343 voters; Egor has 158,817; Esan Central has 40,831; Esan North-East has 66,790; Esan South-East has 58,802; Esan West has 83,467; Etsako Central has 42,042; Etsako East has 67,715; Etsako West has 128,188, and Igueben has 34,988.

Others are Ikpoba/Okha with 214,822; Oredo, 240,197; Orhionmwon, 102,739; Ovia North-East, 113,167; Ovia South West, 77,468; Owan East, 77,827; Owan West, 46,245 and Uhunmwonde 57,290.

According to INEC, the number of registered voters for the election is 2,210,534. However, 483,796 PVCs were not collected, leaving 1,726,738 voters eligible to take part in today’s election.

According to the delimitation of the state, the election is conducted in the 2,627 polling units in 192 wards in the 18 LGAs of the state withGovernor Godwin Obaseki of the PDP and Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the APC being the main contenders.

The son-in-law Prince Godswill, shared the news alongside beautiful photos of his baby boy on his official Instagram page.

The excited dad, who was filled with gratitude to God over the arrival of his son, noted that he is a new addition to the “ 7P dynasty”and family.

Faith who is the first child of Jonathan, got married to Godswill Osim Edward on April 12, 2014 in the capital at Abuja Ecumenical Center. The beautiful couple met at University of Calabar as students and have been together ever since.

Faith Sakwe and her husband, Godswill Edward welcomed their first child (baby girl) on September 23, 2015.

Somali President Mohamed Farmajo has appointed Mohamed Roble as the country’s new prime minister to replace Ali Khaire, who was impeached by parliament in July.

Farmajo, who made the announcement, directed Roble to form a new government to lead the country through the transition period as Somalia prepares for the 2020/2021 general elections.

The President said he made the appointment of Roble on the basis of his knowledge, experience, and ability to take the government initiative, building efforts, and the development of national plans.

He directed Roble to make significant efforts to consolidate security gains, rebuild the armed forces, and develop infrastructure.

Roble, a graduate of Somali National University in civil engineering, is an international civil servant who worked at the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

Missing Boy Re-unites With Parents Ekohotblog, September 17, 2020… A 6-year-old boy, Marvelous Heness, who was rescued from child traffickers and kidnappers, has been handed to his parents.

Abia State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Ukachi Amala, while handing over the boy on Wednesday, described the rescue as a miracle.

Amala, who stated that the 6-year-old was abducted from his parents’ residence in Port Harcourt for over two months, charged parents/guardians to always be conscious of their children/wards and their whereabouts.

She noted with dismay the increase in cases of child abduction and trafficking and also frowned at the activities of baby factory operators, child traffickers, and kidnappers.

She advised people who may want to adopt or give up the welfare of their child(ren) with mental or physical health disorders to charity homes, to ensure they go through already laid down procedures.

Governor, Samuel Ortom Loses Aide Ekohotblog, September 15, 2020….Jerome Torshimbe, the Special Adviser to Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom on Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs is dead. Torshimbe died on Monday evening in a hospital in Abuja at 63 after a brief illness.

The source said he complained of fever and was taken to hospital in Makurdi but later transfered to Abuja where he died. Our reporter gathered the late Special Adviser had been sick for a long time but was strong enough to perform his duties.
