A 36-year-old man identified as Fatai Oyedele, was arrested on Wednesday after a failed suicide attempt.

It was gathered that Oyedele, a cloth seller who lived at  the Tourist Estate, Obere, Atan Ota in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State had left for Abeokuta to commit suicide at Ogun River in the Akin-Olugbade area of Abeokuta.

He was, however, caught with a bottle of insecticide during the attempt to end his life.

The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, in a statement, confirmed the incident. Akinbiyi stated,

“The victim is one Fatai Oyedele of the Tourist Estate, Obere, Atan Ota, Ogun State, who is 36 years old and has  five children with Jumai Oyedele. He is a cloth seller.

“Around 1.15 pm today (Wednesday) by the Ogun River en route Akin-Olugbade, the man attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the river with a bottle of insecticide in his hands.

“Our prompt intervention saved what would have been an eventual suicide, and with the help of some civilians at the scene, he was rescued.

“He was pulled out of the water and was later taken to the Adigbe Police Station for further investigation.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Oyedele has psychiatric problems.

The PPRO stated, “The man is suffering from psychiatric problems. He was violent at the Adigbe Police Station.

“We have released him to his family members, who came for him. They have taken him to the psychiatric hospital for treatment.”

Canadian Singer, Justin Bieber denies rape allegations made against him by a Twitter user identified as Danielle.

Ekohotblog gathered that the lady named Danielle had taken to Twitter on Saturday to accuse the singer of molesting her on March 9, 2014, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas.

Reacting to the allegation, the pop star Bieber denied the claim, ” I don’t normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career. Still, after talking with my wife and team, I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight.

“Rumours are rumors, but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away, but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily, I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.

“In the past 24 hours, a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014, in Austin, Texas at the Four seasons hotel. I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story. In fact, as I will soon show, I was never present at that location.

“As her story told, I did surprise a crowd in Austin at SXSW, where I appeared on stage with my then assistant side stage and sang a few songs. What this person did not know was that I attended that show with my then-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

“Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously, so my response was needed. However, this story is factually impossible, and that is why I will be working with Twitter and authorities to take legal action.”

Police Rescue Philippino Lady Lured To Nigeria By supposed Lover


The Enugu state police command has successfully rescued a 40-year-old Philippino lady identified as Irene Torento Panas from the captivity of her supposed Nigerian Lover, Chukwudi Odo at Neke-Uno Village, Enugu East LGA.


The inspector general of police, IGP M.A Adamu, made this known in a press release signed by the public relations officer, DCP Frank Mba.

Adamu, while addressing the crime, advised social media users to apply more caution.

It was reported that the victim, who is an accountant and a native of Manila in the Philippines, entered Nigeria on November 22, 2019, to visit the suspect, Chukwudi Odo, who is the acclaimed Lover she met on Facebook.

The narrative changed when the visit set to last for 10days became a case of kidnap after chukwudi refused her leaving the country.

In a statement, Adamu confirmed that the victim was, however, rescued by the officers attached to Unity Provision Division, Ibegwa Nike, following a tip-off by members of the public.

According to the statement, the victim who was sick at the time of the rescue was taken to the hospital where she was treated from June 5, 2020, until she was discharged on June 16, 2020.

”preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect deliberately lured the victim into the country with the aim of confining her, sexually abusing and extorting money from her.” the statement said in parts.

Adamu, who was displeased by the incident, advised members of the public to be very careful when using social media and noted that perpetrators of cybercrime should desist from the act as offenders will be severely punished.

”Meanwhile, the force is already making contact with the embassy of the Philippines in Nigeria to reunite the victim with a member of her family,” Adamu said.

In a thread on Twitter, one @TeeBaibie shared a shocking story of how her sister, identified on twitter as @funsoboyeekiran, was hit by an officer of the Ogun state task force over lockdown restriction.

According to the report, the woman narrated that she was on her way to Justrite supermarket at Ojudu to buy a gift for her child whose birthday was in a few days when some Ogun State Task Force officer intercepted her.

She added that she decided to walk with the officers to the local government council at ojodu after she and her husband refused the officers from entering into her car over the fear of coronavirus.

In contrast, her husband drove behind them, unknowing that the act infuriated the officers.

Tolu reported that on getting to the council, her sister was directed to another officer whom she pleaded with to forgive her and her husband as they were unaware of the lockdown restrictions in Ogun.

She alleged that despite pleading with the officer for a long time, the officer ordered his men to deflate her car tires instead, prompting her to make the video that spotted the task force officer attempting to beat her.


She tweeted, ”Ogun state task force kicked and beat my sister today on her to buy a bicycle for her daughter whose birthday is in two weeks.

”This afternoon, on my way to #justritestores in Ojodu to buy a bicycle for my daughter whose 7th birthday is in 2 weeks,

”We were stopped at the intersection between Lagos and Ogun State (which isn't adequately marked) by #ogunstatetaskforce officials who informed us that there was total lockdown in #ogunstate during weekends and since we were in their territory,

Following the explosion involving four tankers at Kara bridge, Berger, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced diversion of traffic on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The State Sector Commander of FRSC, Olusegun Ogungbemide, announced in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.


He said, “Following the unfortunate crash that involved three fuel tankers and one other trailer that were engulfed in an inferno in the early hours of the day, FRSC operatives immediately mobilized and invited fire servicemen to extinguish the fire.

“The situation, expectedly, impaired traffic situation around the scene of the fire outbreak and beyond.

“This affected motorists, especially those driving out of Lagos.

“To cushion the effect on the road users, FRSC temporarily diverted traffic between New Garage and the end of Kara bridge to allow a counter-flow for Ibadan bound traffic to use a lane from the Lagos bound section of the expressway.

“FRSC at this moment admonished motorists using the temporary lane to obey instructions from traffic officials around the scene of the crash and urged them to drive with caution.”

He noted that travelers should explore other routes because the agency is waiting to clear up the road.

“Those traveling from Ibadan may turn at Sagamu interchange and use Abeokuta to Lagos through Sango Otta, Abule Egba, Iyana-Ipaja.

“People traveling out of Lagos may also use the above route, and travelers from Lagos Island can explore Victoria Island, Ajah to Ijebu Ode to continue their journey.

“However, motorists around Mowe, Ibafo entering into Lagos or vice-versa using the temporary lane should please drive with extreme caution,” he added

Aaron Glee confesses to killing Nigerian US-based Black Lives Matter activist Oluwatoyin Salau, 19, and Victoria Sims, 75, to officers of Tallahassee Police Department and the Orlando Police Department.

According to newly released court documents, Glee waived his right to remain silent and gave his account of events to officers.

The revelation encompasses shocking new details of how Glee kept Salau in his run-down home on Monday Road for several days, raping her and eventually killing her to avoid getting caught.

The documents revealed that Salau, and Sims, who were reported missing on June 6, and June 11 respectively, apparently met one another in the last days of their lives, after Glee arranged for Sims to pick both him and Salau up at a bus stop.

On June 13, numerous TPD officers descended on his home after tracing Sims’ cellphone to the address.

They found Sims’ body under a bloody sheet in a bedroom and Salau’s body under a pile of leaves in the woods behind the house.

By that time, Glee had already bought a one-way ticket to West Palm Beach, where he has family members. Orlando police, working off information from TPD, intercepted him at a Greyhound bus station and took him into custody.

He complained of breathing problems and was taken to an Orlando hospital, where he openly chatted about the two murders, according to the arrest report.

“While at the hospital, Glee had made voluntary admissions to officers guarding him that he had murdered two women in Tallahassee,” the report says

“He would also place a telephone call to his mother and make these same admissions.
