Man accuses the men of Delta state of killing young boy in Ozoro area of Delta State.

A Twitter user calls well-meaning Nigerians and security authorities to look into the case of a young boy who was allegedly  shot dead by policemen in Ozoro area of Delta state.

According to the Twitter user who is identified as Lord Emme, the policemen  killed the boy after laying claims that he was a Yahoo boy.

He added that just after they had shot the boy to death, the policemen immediately ran away, leaving passersby to grieve the end of the boy.

Lord Emme wrote, ”Police shoot an innocent boy today at Ozoro, Delta State.  

After they claimed the poor boy is a yahoo boy… Immediately they committed the act, they all jumped into their van and drove away……@segalink, @Segalink, @PoliceNG, @PoliceNG.

A woman identified as Nimat Raheem has been arrested after allegedly bitting and inflicting deep injury on her rival’s ear in Ijede community in Ikorodu, Lagos Friday.

The case was reported to the police at Ijede Police station by Nimat Raheem’s husband. Reporting the cause of the crisis in his home, Nimat Raheem’s husband identified as Mr Isiaka Raheem, said Nimat was not happy that he brought in the younger wife to their home for Salla celebrations and so decided to fight the woman and in the process, bit off her ear and inflicted a deep cut in the ear.

A six-year-old girl has been rescued by men of the Ogun State Police Command, after reports of alleged torture by her stepmother, Abimbola, at their residence in Ijagba, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, Abimbola has a habit of using nails to torture the little girl.

The attention of the police was brought to the plight of the six-year-old girl by Olanrewaju Omo-George Foundation (NGO) after neighbours had reached out to them concerning the treatment of the little one by her father, Taiwo Onabanjo and his new wife.

The state Covid-19 task force imposed N5000 fine on the convicts for refusal to wear face COVID-19 Task Force in Ekiti, on Monday, arrested not less than 60 people who violated regulations on the compulsory use of face mask.

The offenders were taken to a Special Court, where they were convicted for contravening Coronavirus Disease Regulations 2020. Prof. Bolaji Aluko, Chairman of the COVID-19 Task Force, who spoke on the development, said the enforcement would henceforth be a regular exercise.

The Osun State Government has announced that the MKO Abiola International Airport in Ido Osun has been taken over by new investors.

The State’s Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Remi Owowaiye, made this known during the weekend at the Ministerial Press Conference organised by the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation.

Omowaiye recalled that in 2018, an ex-governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola said some investors had showed interest in the project.

He also recalled that the concession agreement entered with AWOL International Limited, a private consultancy firm, on the project had failed. Also, the commissioner during the meeting said many investors had indicated interest and agreement process has commenced.

He noted that the government was at the stage of entering into Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with one of the investors before the pandemic.

Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, alleged that he suspects the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) flying Officer, Tolulope Arotile who died on July 14, 2020, was murdered.

The minister made the statement on account of how Tolulope Arotile died, as reported by the NAF.

According to the force’s report, the late Flying Officer, who was Nigeria’s first female combat pilot, was reported to have died from head injuries she’s sustained from an accident in the force base in Kaduna.

The force explained that the flying officer was knocked down by her best friend and former classmate, who was in a reverse mode.

NAF had stated that she was inadvertently hit by a former classmate when the car was in reverse mode on the Air Force base in Kaduna.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced that 42 COVID-19 patients had been discharged after testing Negative to the virus.

The Governor disclosed this through the Twitter handle of his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Gboyega Akosile. Gov. Sanwo-Olu, while disclosing the update on Friday, said the patients were 17 females, 25 males, and ten foreign nationals.

According to him, the patients were discharged in this order, eight from Gbagada, five from Agidingbi, 15 from Eti-Osa (LandMark), six from Onikan, and eight also from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH isolation centers.

He added that they were discharged to reunite with the society, having recovered and tested negative to the virus The Governor urged Lagosians to continue following all COVID-19 guidelines as directed by the health sector

Kwara Government discharges one patient who recently tested negative twice as toll hits 422.

The state had announced on July 14, that it confirmed another 21 positive COVID-19 cases in the state.

Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and Spokesman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19, made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Ilorin.

According to the statement, while the total cases in the state hit 422,  the total number of discharged patients was 180  while, 14 deaths have been recorded.

Osun has recorded 18 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of the infections in the state to 281.

The state also discharged 13 patients from the state’s isolation centre after testing negative to the virus.

The State’s Commissioner For Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu, in a statement on Wednesday in Osogbo, confirmed the report.

  Dr Isamotu said the new cases were contacts of previously confirmed cases in the state.

The Commissioner said with the new confirmed cases recorded on July 14; the state now has 140 active cases, 134 patients have been discharged, while seven deaths were recorded.

The Kano State House of Assembly has begun a process to further amend the State’s Penal Code amendment (No.12), law of 2014 to provide for castration as punishment for rape in the state.

The Assembly took the decision following a motion presented on Wednesday by a member, Mr Nuraddeen Alhassan (APC-Rano), seeking for the review of the law.

Newsmen report that the plenary was presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Abdulazeez Gafasa and the Assemblymen were unanimous in the decision.

Alhassan, who called for the review of the law to further reflect a harsher punishment for rapists in the state, said the present 14 years jail punishment was not enough.
