Jesus got the same chance and he sent it wide. For him to even score that goal with his weaker foot was impressive.
Lol, yeah. His own was even easier than Saka own
His execution was just poor

Arteta is the first arsenal's manager in history to win 9 EPL games as at matchday 10. No other arsenal manager in history have done it.

Special Appreciation to Saka ystdy for giving us that sought after 3points.

The use of his weaker foot and how accurate it's becoming is the main reason why he's getting more dangerous and unpredictable against most full backs. The lone goal ystdy is a goal all right footer would be proud of.

Gracias boss!! cool

Yea, but the ref blew before the player passed to the keeper.
I think it was a case of Ronaldo playing to the whistle. These rules just dey confuse person
Nah, Schar passed the ball during when the ref whistled. It was at almost same time both event(both kicking and whistling) happened. So it was normal that it was the GK that ought to take the fk. Whether Schar used his leg at that instant is immaterial cos he could have easily used his hands too and it wouldn't have been a foul cos the play wasn't ON

Expert17:
I'm not sure if they have updated this rule BUT what I know is that penalty is the only set piece that requires a referee whistle.

You can take a quick free kick without the whistle all you need is the referee's permission either verbally or with his hands.
True tho, but that ball was passed with the intention of the goalkeeper taking the fk. Schar would have easily passed it with his hands and it wouldn't have been a foul on Schar and Ronaldo wouldn't have done anything. The issue is arising because he chose to give the ball to the GK with legs for him to take the fk. So yeah, I think the refs made the right call. It would have been different if the GK touched or shifted the ball after the ref have blown

Abeg, who knows why the ref cancelled Ronaldo's goal yesterday.
The ref blew his whistle and the goal keeper played his spot kick before Ronaldo nipped in.
Wasn't it similar to the one nani scored against tottheham some years back?
The goalkeeper didn't touch the ball when the ball was passed to him. That was never a goal, plus the intention was that the it was the goalkeeper that will play the ball.

I would like to ask, when is a freekick supposed to be played? Is it Before, during or after the whistle have been blown?

If Chelsea hadn't gotten these results some would blame the players or say give Potter time. Maybe Potter's Chelsea's system is yet to be figured out, maybe players are yet to get injured but does Potter look like a manager with a career to complain over losing players, D dude would just pick the next best profile to fit the role
Wetin stop am from winning trophies with Brighton or will he be the first manager to win trophy with a small club. You guys can rate Potter above Tuchel but when e reach achievements, na that time Una go know say him come from small club called Brighton.

Where are our defensive and holding minefielders?

We can't even track their players one on one, our defense and holding minefielders just run and follow the ball leaving or not putting their eyes on the position of their opponent.

And why is this stupid mother forking crazy imbecilic abominable xavi [/b]still playing Dembele and Raphinha out of position?

Honestly we kept 9 cleansheets in 11games,became hard to beat coz of his haram style

I'll say this I'm impressed with potter transition and flexibility

But let's see what happens in the long run

It wrong to compare him with tuchel
You guys became hard to beat was not because of any haram style. It seems most of you guys have forgotten how Tuchel played during his first 6 months enroute to winning UCL. It was only Tuchel I knew who played 3 at the back then but it doesn't look like bus parking. You guys outplayed athletico, outplayed Pep in the league, outplayed most of your opponents and was creating chances that most of you agreed that the only thing lacking was a clinical striker which was why Lukaku return was really accepted by you guys here.

I get Tuchel last months was horrible but mehn, the way you guys just forgot everything good Tuchel did here is alarming sha. Someone who made a whole Donstan swallow his L should know he did something great

Arteta always overdo until it backfire
He still have a long way to go
Partey was floored yesterday he got dispossessed multiple times
Kudos to arteta switching to 541 but that tactics absolve pressure
I was expecting 442 so that we hit them on counter attack

Anyway yesterday os one of the many games we will face like that
Our mental strength played a big role
na from clap clap naim dance dey enter. Before we know it, Tomi go just turn Lb.

Partey was unusually hassled ystdy and easily pressed and it showed. Most of our players were not looking it but like you said, our mental strength played out which made us win.

I'm just glad that Arteta is massively learning. All his subs were very good plus the timing was right

I understand why we played Tomi Against Liverpool at left back but seeing him play left back again ystdy is something I'm not too comfortable with and it feels weird esp when a good Lb Is available. Is Tierney that bad that he's now 3rd choice Lb?. It just seems weird and I'll be wondering what might be going through his mind.

I just hope Tierney is being given the opportunity and advantage to battle it out with Zinchenko while Tomi competes with White. Tierney Is too good to be a 3rd choice Lb no matter what
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera:
My thoughts on the game

1..I'm really happy for the 3 points. To see out a game like this shows the mentality and resilience of these squad and most times luck comes to those who are prepared to take it. Arsenal before would have cracked under this intense pressure ystdy but thank goodness we scaled through and came out top.

2.. Gabriel Magalhaes almost undid all his good work ystdy with just one minute of naivety and temperament. One thing I noticed about our players this season is that we're now drifting away from that nice and honest guys we were really known for during Wenger days as we're now employing the dark arts. Hit Martinelli or Gabriel Jesus and they'll so roll on the floor clutching their legs till maybe a yellow card is dished to the opposition player. But it seems Gabriel doesn't get the memo, and the worst part Is that we were at an advantage. Instead of clutching his leg and claim being in pain so that he can tilt the ref judgement towards his favour, he foolishly stood up and fell for bamford mind games to have him booked after being mistakenly hit by Gabriel. Thank God for Var for rescuing the situation if not, arsenal might have dropped point not only because of Gabriel's unfair red card offence but his outright foolish temperament.

3... Seeing the games Ystdy, it seems the players were a bit jaded maybe due to the trip to Norway and it showed during the 2nd half as Leeds where relentless pressing us. Thank goodness we dug deep and snatched the 3 points.

4.. Saka goal ystdy means he's the first player under Arteta to record 50 goals contribution (26G 24A). Great lad he is, and the good thing about the goal was that it was with his weaker foot. Golden boy for a reason cool
Odegaard had a good first half ystdy but seemed to fizzle out in the 2nd half. It isn't the first time I'm noticing that anytime a game seems tough, we're under intense pressure and we're not dominating, Odegaard seems to fizzle out. Good he was rightly subbed ystdy and I just hope he improves on that.
And please can someone tell him to learn how to take good goalscoring shots fgs!! It's getting annoying seeing him in good goal-scoring place take a shot only to see it lacks power and precision.

Good games by the gunners
Ugly win
4points above
PSV next then Southampton

But why is nobody ignoring this tottheham team, they have been picking up important points silently.
For me,they are serious contenders, even for the title and the fact that they have gone about their business silently, without pressure makes it even more dangerous for the opponents.
Top four this season no go funny
I think they're a top4 worthy contender no doubt but in terms of competing with Man city, I don't see them at all. Their style of play is something that wouldn't be sustainable in the long run if they keep on playing like this. But yeah, they have enough tank and quality to get the top 4 spot

Leeds are an intense pressing team, and you guys had a midweek game where almost your first teamers played in so the difference in energy levels would play a part here.
If Leeds sticks to there high intense pressing team,it would surely cause you problems. They can cause turnovers in your build up,and potentially create good chances from it.The only problem be say I no trust their coach,he fit go decide to pack bus which will favour you guys, but if he sticks to the beilsa's philosophy, and take advantage of their fitness level,I'm sure they can nick something from this game.
As for newscastle,We always beat them.Forget their recent form,na our second wife after Chelsea be that grin.Besides they have a couple of their first teamers injured,I don't think they would be as threatening as they have been this season.Fingers crossed though.
Leeds are a good side no doubt but I think what could work for us is the quality of players we have over them. In terms of pressing, Leeds is not even in the top 5 pressing team this season, instead Newcastle is in top 3.

Also it's amazing how you used midweek game where just most of our first teamers played 50min or less. We even played with 2nd gear but you think it'll affect our energy levels but you guys played with ALL your first teamers and with full gear and you now want to meet a high pressing team in Newcastle but you think it won't affect you guys nor your energy levels because "Newcastle are your wife".

Issokay oo, 2pm no far again grin
